  • Puglia is an amazing region, also called the Italian Maldives. Salento, in particular, is an area packed with the best beaches you will ever see. Spectacular faraglioni (just like in Capri!), turquoise water, romantic sunsets to enjoy your getaway in Italy: let's see what you should expect from a trip to Salento, from a local's point of view!

    Looks like a great place for a cool down dip in the ocean in warm Italian summer period.

      It's not ocean, it's the Mediterranean sea, so it's warmer :)

    What an awesome coastline. I love the hole in the cliff at 0:07! The turquoise water is so inviting. I can't believe it's actually that colour! Amazing :)

      It's one of the few holes like this in Europe! And there are so many legends about it!

    Haven't planned trip there yet, but visiting Puglia and it's beaches has been in my bucketlist since long.. though I am not too much of a beach person, but if the views are that great I guess one can't miss it.. :)

      In Puglia, especially the off the beaten path areas, beaches are awesome and food is mouthwatering! Besides, it's way cheaper than many other touristy places in Italy so I think the pros outweight the cons :D

    Ooohhhh I want to go to this Italian Maldives location!! Do you know why the water is so blue? We just went to Banff and they have lakes that are the same turquoise color and it's because it comes from glacier water. Wondered why for this location :)

    • @TravellingDany
      @TravellingDany  Před 5 lety +1

      I think it's because it's a very clean stretch of Mediterranean sea. The water is also always pretty warm, even if the area can be pretty windy!

      It does, you're right! The food is pretty different, and this is a part of Italy we wish people would consider more often. :) Everyone stops in Rome and thinks they've seen the South :)
