The Big Chicken - Georgia’s Favorite Landmark

Originally built in 1963 for Johnny Reb’s Chick, Chuck, and shake the big chicken has stood in Marietta Georgia for over 60 years. In 1974 KFC purchased the building and later In 1993 high winds damaged the chicken and they considered taking it down much to public uproar. So much uproar that they decided to keep it and today they sell merchandise with the Big Chicken on it and he has his own AM radio station as well. His eyes roll around while his beak rises up and down continuously.
Here’s to another 60 years to Marietta, Georgia’s own Big Chicken !
