I remember playing this game in a team with a couple of friends once against team full of CPUs. We got to the screen where we were supposed to choose items for both teams and just started mashing the random button a couple of times. Somehow, the ruleset we landed on gave the CPU team every item in the game and our team only boos. It was some of hypest Mariokart Iâve ever played.

Came up with a few item rulesets that could shake the game up.
1. Speed Kart - All Mushrooms, Bullet Bill, Star.
2. Minion Kart - All Shells, Blooper, Bob-Omb, Boo, Bullet Bill, Plant
3. Power-Up Kart - All Mushrooms, Blue Shell, Boomerang, Flower, Star
4. Chaotic Kart - Blooper, Blue Shell, Bullet Bill, Lightning, Star, Sound Block
5. Plants Vs Bombies Kart (Sorry couldn't resist} -
All Mushrooms, Bob-omb, Boomerang, Bullet Bill, Flower, Plant
Optional for any mode and map. Crazy 8 can be on or off. Excited to see more Mario Kart with a Twist.

One really good ruleset I've seen is one where the only items are lightning, stars, boos, and piranha plants; the goal is to be invincible as much of the time as possible to avoid the lightning. Piranha plants are mainly there because they take up your item slot for a while and don't help with the lightning, so they're the booby prize; can maybe substitute golden mushrooms for a bit of spice, so you at least get to go fast for a bit before it's inevitably stolen or destroyed.
I believe they've played something very similar
Capitalism Cup:
- teams start with no items
- the points you win in races can be used to buy items for your team
- make the better items worth more points

To answer Popptâs question, you go on the Safari either early in the morning or late in the evening. You either catch the animals waking up or getting ready to sleep because by then the ferocious predators have already eaten.

As someone whoâs done a few African safaris, itâs actually very safe! The drivers all know what theyâre doing and make sure not to get to close, and if lions do get close you stay quiet and get some good photos. Itâs pretty fun!
No CPUs with only fire flower and blue shells on baby park. This is our go to when there is only three of four of us.
I was just messing around with custom rulesets in Mario Kart over thew weekend and I found out that blue shell, lightening and bullet is actually pretty fun. You have to play it completely differently than normal mario kart but it's still fun. First place becomes about holding your bullets to dodge the blue shells and any other place becomes about chucking blue shells and bullets to try and catch up.
Also the most chaotic race I've ever had in Mario Kart was done with blue shells and bombs only on baby park. It's hilarious but an epilepsy warning is genuinely needing when playing that mode lmao.

This is my personal ruleset that's actually quite fun. I call it the "Shortcut Ruleset"
Very simple: Mushroom, Triple Mushroom, Golden Mushroom, Blue Shell (optional Stars and Bullet Bills but depending on RNG they can make it more imbalanced since first place can still get them)
With poppt1 becoming good at mario kart and now heâs getting bullied for it. Ah, the beautiful cycle of life

I've heard the craziest idea of 1 team get boo while the other team gets crazy items like bullet bill, gold mushroom, and maybe even star. U can tweak this a bit maybe 1 team gets boo and a couple mushrooms while the others get almost every other item that good, pick ur poison! hope u guys try one of these and I love watching ur videos

Turn off coins and single shells and thats all you need to have the perfect ruleset. 1st place no longer gets annoyed by every item box being nothing but coins, but everyone behind them has triple shells. Its a win win

Red Vs Yellow ruleset:
One team gets the Red items, the other gets the yellow/gold items, all other items are available to both teams. Everything else default
Only golden mushrooms and blue shells is a really funny and chaotic item ruleset

Giga Skill Cup: 1 Banana, 1 Green Shell, 1 Mushroom.
Why not 3, because 3 greens or bananas mean you can just run past through and hit someone or defend yourself with the green shield, not skillful. With only one, your only protection is skillful sniper eye to hit the annoying bananas, you need to skillfully hit your opponents across the map and can only use one mushroom to prevent mashing.

I donât know where exactly theyâve said this, itâs been on the podcast for sure but I donât know where else. But since around the start of the year Peter has been going on a big worldwide trip with Sophie, thatâs why he hasnât been able to record with them. Any videos heâs been in have likely been backlog. Heâll be back sometime soonish, (I think? I obv donât know their schedule) but again because of backlog he probably wonât actually be in the vids again for a fair bit.
