Moving along, Spencer talks about an experiment he’s working on: a site where the traffic comes from Facebook and Reddit.
With 50k followers on his Facebook page and 11k visitors in a single day from Reddit • I Tried Getting 10k Vi... , his site got 55k pageviews in the last month. He’s currently with Ezoic but his goal is to get into Mediavine or Raptive, start earning $1k per month, and build on that.
When it’s Jared’s turn, he talks about his Amazon Influencer side hustle and how he has had success creating videos about the products he uses when he stays at Airbnbs. Then he shares a fantastic hack for making those videos.
Moving onto some weird niche sites, Spencer shares Search Craigslist searchcraigslist.org/, a search engine for Craigslist. He shows how it works and shares a funny story about his own personal experience with this kind of site. This site gets over 100k visitors a month, a mix of direct and Search traffic.
Jared then reveals his site, Tree.fm tree.fm, which lets you enjoy the sounds of random forests and stunning photography. This DR50 site doesn’t rank for a lot of content, obviously, but they do have a clever monetization strategy.
Beyond that, Jared’s feeling inspired and has a few ideas for similar sites. Listen to the episode to hear him brainstorm!

Google hates small sites, I had 300 clicks a day from Google before HCU now at a whopping 1 fucking click yesterday.
I had 5000, now I have zero. 2 months earlier they disabled my 14 year old AdSense and stole my money. Their motto "Don't be evil" didn't age well.
I'm curious to know if the traffic drop you're seeing is just as per Google products (GSC and GA4) or in other sources as well (ad networks, subscribers).
@@sunidollfun Google took almost all my traffic. The site is in English and I have almost as much traffic from Google as from Yandex.

Google lied, SEOs died.
The trust between content creator and Google is zero and has been destroyed for good. Relying on Google for your livelihood is like an abused wife that keeps going back to the wife beater.

Hey, Thank You for the discussion on the Leaked Documents…having played this game so long, it feels like a confirmation of looking back what worked, as Google is testing/trying things to move forward…losing their King of the Hill Trust as they go. It’ll be interesting to see what works next. The 80/20 to 90/10 to now AI Overviews 99/1 Search Results…could be the slow, then all of a sudden decline of Google. Time will tell. 👍

You guys are great. You're always so informative (and entertaining). I saw in one of the algo leak articles a mention that sites with a video on over 50% of pages are treated differently. I'd like to know more about that... if 'differently' is a positive or negative treatment as I often embed videos in blog posts.

Nice chat about the leak, thanks. We diversify websites, amazon, etsy, opensea, instagram traffic and link them all together. Portfolio theory works in diversifying the risks, aka the flaws of the platforms.

Do you think i can make amazon review videos even with foreign accent? I live in Europe.
Just a personal opinion here... If you are still easy to understand, your accent should not hold you back. A pleasant accent would not deter someone from finding your video useful. If they have to struggle to understand you, it would not be a good idea. Best of luck.
