Interesting that it passed your spectrum analysis. There are many other reviews on CZcams which show excessive harmonics, but all of the ones I have seen were from March or April when these first became available. I wonder whether Retevis fixed the original problem? The HD1 reportedly did not have that issue, so presumably they know how to avoid it and it is just a QC issue.
Hi Andrew, i did my test with a linear (near flat response) -40dB RFtap/RFsampler directly to the Spectrum Analyzer (if i remember correct), i prefer this above antenne to antenne with risking overpowering or saturatring the SA and creating this way maybe harmonics on screen that are not there in the radio. but other simple explanation would be they fixed it indeed.
How can I open the VHF TX bands, leave them at 136 and 225 MHz, I only receive 165 at work, and I need to transmit that frequency anyway to be able to communicate.
a quick google search tells me:
(fw 2.02-2.03) Menu+8+turnon-radio, password 777888, menu to step to setting
(olde firmware) Menu+6-turnon-radio, password 654321, menu to step to setting
but not sure is complete open or just giving you choise between IARU 1,2,3
