we love da grassssss
I've had more success with a grassy lake near me using Ned Rigs and Texas. Sometimes the bite is subtle and we crank in a huge clump of grass and realize a small bass is mixed in. Fun never the less!
Ned rigs in grass? Doesn’t that get grass on the hook all the time?
Using proline shad, frog or nightcrawler or creyfish. This is great on soft plastic. Procure work equally amazing especially on lures. On punch rigs snap up and pull back gently at the right or left side depending on which hand you cast with. 😊 quality attractant that's water based fish will bite and hold on longer
Ned rig stays clean in grass honestly very well!
Like a Texas rig, jig, chatter bait, crank in the tips or outside edge of grass..a deep on to a square bill.. I love the beaver style baits..also try dragging a wobble head as well!!
Informative & Clear. Thank you for this video. I'd like to now watch your other video's and particularly the ones on identifying the types of grass and best way to fish them. Wish I could fish a few days with you ha ha
I'm glad you specified. As someone from up north when I started getting back into fishing and I was so confused when everyone said I needed to find "grass" to fish. I was literally so convinced there was some magical body of water where normal grass grew past the water line for some reason. I don't know how long it was before I realized you all were talking about weeds. Grass makes more sense for us though since weeds are something you avoid and it's something we seek out
You have no idea how much I appreciate this video and the links to the other videos. I live in northern Utah and everyday I fish a small-ish reservoir called Mantua Res. And each day the north end fills up more and more with vegetation and grass like you talked about. I hit it pretty hard but success is not what it was like last year. I've been experimenting with different baits, but its hit and miss (pun intended) this video is exactly what I've been looking for and will be putting it to work this evening. 👍🤙🤙
Thank you for all of the great vids, keep up the great work
Thanks man I appreciate it just thought me quite a bit about fishing in grass. There’s a couple places I used to go that I’ve shied away from because of the grass but I’m gonna go them another chance. Thanks
Once again you video rocked it. Have fished grass but wasn’t very good until I found your helpful videos and have got better over the last few seasons thanks. You said the magic word for that HQ decal. “BAM it’s gonna be a good one. Bass HQ”. Lol. Your the best! Keep it up.
Advice that actually works! Many fishing channels sound good and offer cool tips. However, this is only one that I constantly have success with. I start to buy the products you recommend on the channel, which is very rare, as I hardly buy anything not recommended by personal friends. Keep up the great work.
I love this channel!! So much information for a newbie like me! But I feel like a seasoned pro watching your videos! 😅 thank you and keep up the good work!! Oh, I caught my first big bass last week just by using some of your techniques and knowledge
Awesome video Tyler. This describes my home lake here in Kentucky. Perfectly
last year I caught a 2.5 and a .5 lb. bass at the same time a first for me with the hybrid hunter. that was so cool love your teaching Chanel. thanks for what you do!!
Super informative as always.
Thanks for the tips , I also have good luck using a weightless trick worm and also a weightless fluke style bait. Gonna try that minimax Chatterbait in the grass next time I go fishing. Tight lines and thanks for the educational videos.
Great video. Thanks for sharing
I am going to try that crank bait. Thanks for your information.
Mini max is my favorite pick up this year. Gizzard shad color 1/2 oz tipped with 4.75 yoto worm. It saved me on so many trips when nothing would bite.
Deep dive is great I’ve caught fish from the app every time I went fishing and used just the app!
The Mini Max has been my all-star lure this spring. It’s caught dinks to a 5 1/4lb bass to a 26” bowfin. Totally confident that if I’m throwing it, I’m catching some fish.
Which mini max do you use? Any specific one?
@@Drop_Shot_Scott I use the 3/8 ounce in white/chartreuse or green pumpkin, with a Kamikaze Swimon trailer (3”+ version).
Great video plus great baits.
Great video thank you
My old home lake before we moved, just north of Cincinnati Ohio, was smaller but gin clear & had tons of hydrilla. It was a awesome lake to fish! I live in southern SC now. Bass fishing is way better . I just recently found a lake with Tony of grass, Im looking forward to fishing it now I've found it! Can't beat a texas rig & drop shot , swimbaits in grass
Thanks Tyler. I have been liking that little chatterbait also. I cut a old speed worm tail about 3 1/2" for a trailer, give it a try. That little chatterbait is going to be the deal this fall.
All great grass baits. Good list
This is my second time buying this product to go fishing. Largemouth bass loves them!!
Like I’ve said to you before I really don’t like the chatter bait
Two weekend ago I took it out and fished almost nothing but the chatter bait 10 hrs on the water 5 fish
It felt like Torture
I will do it again but this time I will try it in the grass instead of just over the grass
I found that they haven't been producing when the sun's out or really clear water. Then I switch to a swim jig and they smack it.
Hello Tyler I’m new to your channel love your videos good job explaining on how to fish but I’m a pond fisherman wat are the best lures to fish all year long especially in the grass I’m still learning I’m new the the baitcasting world I just need more help I’m from Dallas tx need help I got the tx rig figured out I need more help with the crank bait and the chatter bait as well as the buzz bait can you do more tips on how to use them thanks buddy have a great night
My first big fish came on a lake PLAGUED with weeds and grass. I was actually pan fishing that day and thought I just hooked a big grass clump until the grass swam under my board. 4lb test and a 4lb bass. Fishing gaps in grass pockets ever since! Bigger rods tho
I got to use a few chatter baits today for the first time with a hedgehog trailer. Didn't have no luck from the bank , but was thinking it would probably be a good late summertime bait since it pretty well mimicked a frog in the water.
Hey Tyler loved the video do you think you could maybe do a follow up to this video for finding grass when out? I'm primarily a kayak fisherman without electronics so it's hard to find the grass sometimes
Fan a Carolina rig around your area, you can feel if It’s grass mud hard bottom rocks and it will help you find fish my dad taught me to use the Carolina rig as my depth finder
Fishing a local grass lake that is entirely rimmed with hydrilla growing down to 30 feet and gon clear. It has beat me so far but I know there are giants in there. Three bag tournaments are typically won at 15+ lbs. I'm gonna whip it this year if I have to follow other boats with binoculars!
Thanks so much for your videos. I am learning a lot. One question - my lake has a lot of emergent grass (water willow above the surface). Should I approach that in different manner than submergent/underwater ? Sorry for the basic question. Thanks in advance for any insight. Good luck to all this summer
try a frog or weightless senko
Hey Tyler do you have time to make a video on the uses an how to fish the hybrid hunter.
Thank you for another banger video! Would the swank 77 be a good alternative to the hybrid hunter crankbait?
I have not fished that bait to tell you the truth. I have “heard” that it is not as good as the hybrid hunter but that’s all I know. I am sure for the most part the bass won’t care
When you first showed the picture of the underwater grass. I instantly said Swim Jig!!!!
Then I thought of a lipless crank bait. Heavier gear and rip it through!
what trailer do you use on the chatterbaits mostly? caffeine shad or something else?
So far my favorite has definitely been a swim jig
What's model and size ARK rod are you throwing for these techniques. Really curious about what tod ur throwing firbthe chatterbaits to rip out the grass. I use the Tharp B-Hittay for sparce grass but what are u throwing fir these techniques
I would replace the walking bait with lipless. great video
Great video, but I have to ask, what the heck knot are you tying that has three tag ends?
I'm gonna try the Tokyo rig this year.
Thx
This man deserves more views!
Love the videos! Are your eyes ok? This is the first one I seen that I paid attention to how much you blink 😂…you can say a word without blinking! Just messing with ya man keep up the great vids
Submerged grass. Favorite is the chatterbait
All is well unless your ponds have slimy snot with cheese on top..then the game changes. What's best for that type of slop
Is that a polomar tied directly to the top water? Ive always tied all my top waters with polomar knot directly to the lure without a split ring... They walk just fine like that... I've heard the loop knot is the best knot for top water... I'm just now learning to tie it...
Where I usually fish there are weeds for miles so hopefully this helps
Hey Tyler, i have a question. Does the submerged grass color matter? I fish neighborhood ponds in Houston ( depths around 7') and everytime i use a shallow diving crankbait or anything with an exposed hook, i get a lot of black & old looking grass, dark leaves & sticks and sometimes a greenish slime.
Should i fish around areas like this or not?
It's complicated I would say yes any grass or cover is always good even if it's frustrating to bring in gunk try switching to something maybe slightly more finese or higher in the water column if depending on why you bring in the gunk
Weedless belly weighted swimbait,t-rigged senko, frog, pegged half ounce craw or creature bait, chatterbait, or wakebait.
#1 CZcams channel
Beavers attached to a flipping jig is great for skipping
1/2 oz Blue Craw Thunder Cricket with Hog Farmer 4.5 inch Spunk Shad green pumpkin magic for submerged grass. Add a dab of super glue for extended trailer use. 7ft2-7ft4 MH MF graphite 16-18 lb sniper fc fluoro.
Dude I only have 6 poles and I swear I have each and every bait u named on them.. almost exact baits and colors too shits crazy
Center hook on that walking bait is about to come off fyi
Lol saw that after I edited as well
for #5, dont the crank bait and treble hooks get caught up with the grass too much?
Have you fished indian lake recently? I like fishing grass, but i like deep water grass better. Indian lake is getting a bit ridiculous and daunting.
That's about all there is here. Lol! The best are the weed clumps in 6-10' of water. Most are there because of ice huts that weren't removed before thaw, sunk. It's mostly sand out there and the sunken huts (lumber) give something for the grass to root in to.
Fast moving baits will get you more pike than bass here.
I love swim jigs in grass
Noti gang
That’s my bread and butter punching
Sup Tyler. Great video and tips, I have to get a mini max! Walking bait like you also talked about recently talked about, I went through my jerkbait box and was easier than thought to separate, just have a few walking baits that have a tiny lip? That's what confused me and still does?? Ty tc
I like to use a KVD sexy dawg or the 6th Sense walking bait over grass ( or any submerged vegetation or structure) I be like the perch or bluegill patterns. Neither have a bill , typically the ones with a bill are more of a wake bait than walking bait ( also very effective) Tight lines and good luck Ronald
@@Oldbasshole havnt tried 6th sense. But have 2 of the kvd. We have a lake with a huge landlocked cove at Lincoln woods, it's loaded with hydrilla with about 1ft water above it. Nobody can get there by shore, friend has a custom bass fishing pontoon boat that can go in 3" water so we are going to pick it apart once can get on the boat, soon🤞, we cought bass and lot of pickerel on the outskirts. About 300yds to go there must be holes? I like both walking and wake.. Going to use a snap because will be changing so much depending what we find?? Tight lines bro🎣
@@ronaldyeater3322 I haven’t fished Lincoln Woods in years ! Used to be pretty good with some big fish in there !
@@Oldbasshole yea still are some big ones, just banks overfished. Remember riding around Lincoln woods and before turn to boat ramp there's a spot with 2 islands separating spots?? To left is heavy with bass, and to right towards boat ramp, both coves no access to water from land, and North Cove the deepest can only get to the deep water by boat. Some of favorite areas when I can get on boat. Soon🤞. Only name of water I remember name in mass is Cole? Can see from I195 highway.
@@ronaldyeater3322 I think I know the spot you’re talking about ( pond you see from 195 ) I’ve never fished it . I really should get my RI license, I’m only 10 min from the state line and there’s so many spots to fish !!
As a Michigan guy I appreciate the clarification 💀 I was like what the hell are they talking about grass
Jigs! The only lure I can't catch a bass on. I don't get it. I don't even get bites.
I have tons of algae blooms in the pond I hit, absolutely horrible stuff
Fix the middle hook on your spook.
To me Grass = Keitech swing impact rigged weedless
Chatterbait is one of the best baits for biggins
Indian lake lol hella catfish in there
Hey take that hybrid hunter off 👀 that's my best grass and shallow lure 😂
I know right
Isn't that Strike King hybrid hunter just a rip off Rapala Shad Rap?!
my lake (reservoir) is nothing but grass, I call it the salad bowl
Much better than Tacticalbassin
Is this an infomercial?
I call it moss
A lot / A lot of Times Count: 13
😂
I call it a pain in the butt I will always get hooked up
lol dude all of these lures will catch grass especially a crank bait the only one that won't catch grass are top water lures
Will you please be quiet about the hybrid hunter ?! Geez, everyone will start throwing it
