I was at the game I think a combination of the pa system breaking before the game and a crowd that had a few on RL fans made it a slightly awkward atmosphere it certainly picked up when the trys started. I have been going to games for 35 years and it was a weird one lol
Canât believe Samoa couldnât put a better performance on considering the talent theyâve got. And considering their best players all play club footy together. Great performance from England too
They gave up in the last 15 which was disappointing but Iâll take the win. The tournament couldnât have got off to a better start for us.

Samoa didn't play their best but we got to consider the team had not played a practice match before as England and other teams did. So they lack chemistry and just playing well together. England was the better team but still a high chance for Samoa making quarterfinals for sure!!

England have great talent and can compete for a title no question. They need to actually achieve something before they get any serious accolades not just win one game. They have almost always been a competitive side it's just that Australia have dominated most of the international competition for so long. If they don't win the cup they have achieved the same thing as every other one for so long now. Don't get ahead of yourself. They have almost always been in the top 3 sides in international rugby league. Once again kudos to England for a great win. Let's see if they can make the final and how they perform then.

Australia are the powerhouse of Rugby League period and always will be. They have too much player depth, the NRL, and State of Origin. The Kiwis have been the only international team in the past 14 years to challenge Australia for that mantle and we still canât beat them consistently. England have 5 super league grand finalists, 6 nrl players & only the cream of the crop selected from superleague to play. They began their RLWC training camp back in March & the final squad was announced late September, with a warm up match with Fiji October 7th. England was well prepared. Samoa first game together as a new team was in game 1. These are facts not excuses. They've made major improvements with just 4 games under their belt. Now they just beat England, it proves that they only needed more time together as a team.

Milford and Luai need to be better, both players failed to have an impact. Toâo had very little involvement. I would consider shifting Chrighton to fullback and moving Sualiâi to center or wing. Forwards also need to lay a platform, i thought Papa and Paulo would have a bigger impact but they were non-existentâŠ

I think Samoa will improve. Probably a bit "cold" (both senses of the word) going into this game.
But one of the best performances from England even after scotching 2 early opportunities. Were helped by Samoa knocking on and giving possession and position numerous times too but overall England have a complete team across the selections and bench. Lots to enjoy going forwards.
Samoa in the knock-outs will be another good game and probably they'll post a lot more points too.

You'll get results like this from time to time. A team like Samoa will always take time to gel as unit, should've had a few more warm up games.
Every player had to pay for their own way to the World Cup. Hard to have warm up games when most of the team are still making their way there. Still, it's no excuse, Suaalii should not have been fullback it should have been Criton. Milford's attitude is why he should never have been picked. The lack of energy showed and they were punished by a great side.

But when you see the likes of Gerrard Sutton, Ashley Klien, Grant Atkins and so on and sportbet involved you know that the game will be influenced and decided mostly by the rubbish referee's. These top class games should be reffed by international and Superleague referee's and sports betting should not be allowed. As for the premiership games purely decided by the betting agencies.
