I`m a South African. I have not been so inspired for a very long time. That is what it`s about. Portugal is the real winners in this WC so far. Rugby is so much better with them around. Obrigado.

I'm portuguese and I've studied in Coimbra where there is a rugby field...those guys go to train after their working day, almost every day! It's impressive the mentally and unity that the guys have.
Portugal is brillant, The beauty of Rugby, despite not able to qualify for next round, winning this game was like lifting the World Cup for them.
My wife is a Porra, and we love in South Africa.. as a Boks fan, this was an amazing game!🇵🇹🇿🇦
Being a Portuguese-American who played lots of rugby, starting way back in 1973, and still refereeing now, this game is one of my favorites of all time. Love it that Portugal finally won a RWC game, after losing in the final minutes to Rumania in 2007.

The old heads for Portugal really brought out the best in their youth. Tadjar with the insane consistency in the line out and Marques playing the full 80. Even with some of the players retiring, this Portugal team have the youth system to be challenging italy in at least 4 years
I would hope someday that Portugal would be in the Six Nations instead of Italy!

Portugal was defeated by Wales and Australia with 20 points of difference, but we all saw that in the pitch that wasnt the real difference. What a fantastic job of Lobos !

The world of Rugby should do all it can to now help further the game in second tier nations, especially Portugal, after seeing their home coming at the airport, wow.
A lot of teams in Portugal's position wouldn't have recovered from leading 17-10 to going behind 17-23. Portugal were brilliant all game but crucially they never gave up, and that is what allowed them to win the game when most tier 2 teams would have lost belief after going behind in the way that Portugal did.
That final try suggests that Fiji weren't taking the Portuguese seriously - they did not cover that blind side properly as they would have done against a T1 nation. Well done, Portugal - maybe next time Fiji will not underrate their opponents.

Love that Portugal won. And love how Fiji still made it through. Fiji usually play to the level of their opponents. That’s how this one got away. But still, Portugal were unreal this tournament. Can’t wait to see them next 4 years. This will most likely be the toughest qualifying for Rugby World Cup now. Instead of having top 8 teams qualify, every team should have qualifiers. So tier one nations have to go through the process and can also miss out. The only team that’s solidified is the host and winners. Just like soccer. Hope rugby adapt that theory. That way more tests for tier one and tier 2 and meaningful matches with finals atmosphere.
Tier 1 nations don't automatically qualify, it's based off where they finished in pools previous World Cup

See my country with such quality and heart on the field makes me so proud... Portela, Samuel Marques, Tadjer, Nicolas Martins, José Reis, Appleton and the 2 wonderkids Rodrigo Marta and Storti! These were the best to me in this RWC, but we have more great players... Dont forget us! Portugal, Georgia, USA and other "called" tier 2 countries should compete more against the top teams in the future! Level the chances so other countries can grow and shine!

This was an excellent game of rugby. Easily the best of the weekend and that's coming from an Irish fan. I really wish World Rugby would invest more in tier 2 nations. I mean Japan is the only team coming into their own and their in the sort of Tier 1.5 bracket with Uruguay, Italy and Fiji.

Well done Portugal. Some Tier 2 teams are a lot closer to our supposedly superior Tier 1 teams. You gave us (Wales) a great game. Knowing the Fiji guys, you won't have felt pain for 2 days (aside from hangovers!) and will have plenty of bits to have taken home.

As an FJ fan, I wasn't too disappointed but happy for the Lobos boys on that achievement from a casual rugby fan perspective. Portugal finished on a high like we did with that famous win as I look back on this.
