  • Hurricane Beryl made landfall on the Texas coast early yesterday morning, and it was never expected to last very long inland before weakening. This morning, it is merely a tropical depression, but still producing substantial amounts of rainfall especially on its northern side. After producing a tornado outbreak yesterday in east Texas and Louisiana, the depression is now over central Arkansas, and will continues to speedily move off to the northeast with a secondary tornado threat possible later today.
Beryl will turn post-tropical shortly and may enhance winds on its western side over Michigan when it does so. The system should completely dissipate over Ontario later this week.
Elsewhere, two areas of interest are now active in the Western Pacific, with a very large storm possible in the South China Sea and a smaller one off the east coast of the Philippines. However, both of them could go on to reach typhoon status this weekend.

Lucky my friend's garden at Tomball only lost a tree & a branch no casualty from fallen tree like that poor granny.
She was granted emergency leave at the last minute after Beryl's landfall from the hospital or else it would be her car trapped in the flooded highway.😊
Heatwave was douse off , thanks to Beryl 😅
    Nature has two sides.

    Possible Storms in WPAC:
    Typhoon Gaemi (Butchoy)
    Typhoon Prapiroon (Carina)
    Typhoon Maria (Dindo)
    Tropical Depression 06W (Enteng)
    Tropical Storm Son-tinh (Ferdie)
If this happens in July then this will be like 2000, 2002 - 2006 and 2011 - 2019

@@unitgamex2972ida was a massive rain threat after it went lost hurricane status and caused significant flooding in the northeast as a post tropical cyclone. beryl is also still a rain threat and so the similarities between ida and beryl in that regard is fairly noticeable

@@twobser most storms after they make landfall are a rain threat. Also Beryls rain threat is likely not going to be nearly as significant as Ida
