    Haven't started the list yet, but the "Didn't this use to look bigger?" hook reminded me of summer vacation last week. We had a pack of peanut butter Oreos and a pack of Double Stuff Oreos, and noticed that there wasn't much "Double" to the "Stuff," so we stacked two peanut butters, compared it to one of the Double Stuffs, and came to the conclusion that there was almost no difference between a regular Oreo and a Double Stuff one. Shrinkflation is just sad.

    • @SesshouFan22
      @SesshouFan22 Před měsícem +7

      Yeah the new double stuff is what the originals used to be while the originals have half as much as before. I remember when the double stuff actually looked like someone doubled the cream of a regular Oreo. It's that way with the Fat Boy ice cream sandwiches, too. They used to be 3/4 the length and almost double the thickness, now they're the same thickness as the regular ones while still being 3/4 the length the you're just getting less for your money.

      Ah, a Biden voter. Inflation is hitting all of us, including corporations. They don’t want to raise prices, but they also want to make a profit and be able to pay their bills, much like we do. It’s like you asking for a raise in order to keep up with rising prices. And then the company you work for has to find a way to pay increasing wages. It’s a nasty little cycle. It’s called inflation, a side effect of unchecked government spending and printing more money, decreasing the value of the dollar. Vote wisely this November.

      I actually found that bagged cereal gives you a lot more cereal if you’re looking for cold cereal and I also found that if you’re looking to buy bigger sizes, you should try either Costco or the one associated with Walmart even if you have to pay a membership fee it’s still less expensive in the long run and I found that out with Costco‘s water.
      I figured out that if Costco has a basic membership for 60 bucks a year and you buy approximately 20 cases of water with the amount of money that you save between that place and Kroger by the time you pay for 20 cases you are saving the $60 you need because at Kroger the water is approximately seven or more dollars a case and at Costco it’s around four dollars a case so in the end 20 to 22 cases of water from Costco will save you money which means that the cost is very much different and this is just water we’re talking about it might be surprising to figure out what else they give a better deal on

    12:45 I know. Products advertise “no artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors” or “whole grain”, but it doesn’t make it any more nutritional. Some of the removals may be better for health; but it doesn’t really make that big of a difference. And unless you’re going to go all organic, you’re going to get all of those things from other sources

    Canned tuna salad was hands down my favourite sandwich as a kid, but in recent years it's been more difficult to make more than one sandwich per can.
    Realized why when I looked at the weight. It was 8oz per can way back when, then shrank to 7oz, now it's only 5.
    Curiously this does not afflict certain retailers as the last 12pk of canned tuna I purchased (sometime last month) was 12 cans, 7oz each, for roughly the same price as 12 individual 5oz cans.

The thing is we have better tasting biscuits and cookies than those tasteless things. The only 1 good thing I will say is they are so small that the kids don't get a massive sugar hit.Honestly we have a better chocolate biscuit called delta creams.

    19:53 Am a Brit (South Wales, UK) and I gotta say that the change was actually better, as it wasn't overly sweet like having a mouthful of sugar, it became more fruity and can taste more citrus in it now 🍊
    It felt weird tasting the US & EU version as it was more sugary sweet than citrus, that I actually asked for my drink to be switched with Coke Zero or a lemonade. (For context I was in a restaurant outside of the UK, and asked the server if I could change my drink as I couldn't drink it after a sip. The nice server switched it and took off the Fanta)

      I totally understand what you mean, I never drank Fanta before but tried it in 2019 and liked it. I didn't realise that it was less sugar only in the UK (where I live in West England), so when I visited Florida and bought a bottle thinking it was the same, I literally choked at how sugary it was, I made my sister try it (she likes sugary drinks) but even she didn't like it, saying "it tastes like a just had a tablespoon full of sugar" 🤢 we checked each drinks sugar context percentage after that, so we didn't get a repeat of the sugar Fanta.

My very first job was McD's and they were busted for using kangaroo meat and still claiming their product to be "all beef burger'. Minimum wage was 79 cents per hour, so you can see that this is nothing new. I haven't eaten there for over 50 years.

I know this, because i'm a Swede, and the food here haven't changed much at all, if at all. We do have this weird habit of having a bit extra salted food, or mix foods with different tastes, like Marabou chocolate with popcorn.
