Until Tamar recognizes the red flags in men she'll keep being in the same type of unhealthy relationships. Also, Tamar needs to work on herself before getting in another relationship.

Tamar herself even stated (amidst defending him) that he was also toxic, which is evident in the way he decided to go about leaving the relationship . Call out the fact that Tamar was toxic all you want, but one thing that separates her from the others is the fact that she’s self aware, knows accountability & is at least TRYING to do the inner work on herself . How is it that Toni's brand never gets tarnished from her being on these same shows? She's not ready to tell the truth about what happened in that relationship. Unless they made up all of the footage they shot of him, and what he did during the 911 tape and after the break up.. there is a discrepancy between what she's saying and what is already out there publicly..

The point being made is that it’s much more difficult for producers to bend the truth (or just plain blatantly fabricate narratives) when there isn’t sufficient footage. You don’t understand how reality television works and it shows. Two things can be true. Tamar lacked maturity and self control and made herself look bad at times but that doesn’t automatically mean all the edits of her were in context or 100% truthful. Case in point: When they removed the scene of Iyanla outing Tamar’s trauma from being sexually harassed as a child and only showed her reaction. Reality TV producers know that drama sells and will purposefully trim and cut things to their liking, take things out of chronological order and completely remove necessary context for conversations/events in order to paint whatever narrative they see fit. It is easiest and most believable to target cast members who already appear to be problematic.

The bottom line is they can only use what you give them. Outed her trauma? Iyanla was given information by one of Tamar' s sisters. Iyanla assumed the family knew and had never addressed it. So whether or not they showed which sister told IS MOOT. Her reaction was because she didn't know someone had revealed that to Iyanla which was fine. But be clear, she acted a fool when she walked in the door. The Iyanla situation has NOTHING to do with what I said. You were not EVER going to get a lot of footage from Toni. Besides that, we've seen enough of Toni to know she doesn't act a plum fool like her sister Tamar. Tamar had been acting a fool season after season before Iyanla. The way she acted when Von proposed to Trina was all her...a damn selfish ass fool, as usual.
No, I'm sorry but David was not Tamar's husband and had no right to call that his home and to not want Vincent to come and put his child to bed.

Even when Tamar broke it down to (toxic) Jason, he didn't receive it and wanted to insist on speaking on the negative. I salute Tamar for not agreeing just to get along with Jason and told the truth about the two narratives (what was promised vs what was created). David was nothing but kind and generous to Tamar and her Son. It was people outside of their relationship that had a problem with David. Jason is dangerous and should not be given a platform to interview, especially if he continues to lead with personal bias, and half truths. Tamar was smart and didn't fall into the gaslighting he uses to appear to be caring and concerned.

Most men think protection is allow me to make the decision for you because I know best (I am the man). According to sociology because she's no longer married, she's considered a single parent, that doesn't mean she's caring for her child alone. "Single Parent" literally is only defining the marital status.

I really appreciated Tamar in this interview. Despite the interviewer trying to steer the conversation in a negative direction , by imputing bad motives on David. She was aware of what Jason was doing , but Tamar was not defensive, she kept the conversation positive and she answered the questions honestly. I admire her courage. Growth indeed.

Just my two cents, Tamar said she wanted to show growth she wanted to show her purchasing a new home, but David essentially pick up where Vince left off. Sometimes we need to go through the struggle alone it’s very difficult to find yourself if you are in a relationship. The best relationship anyone can have is with themselves first. Stop putting bandaids on a gapping wound.

Tamar experienced a love from David that she never experienced before. Tamar wanted this docuseries to be fantasy only not real life. Tamar didn't want Mona Scott Young to document anything negative which is not authentic. It appears that she wanted to only answer certain questions on camera, edit out anything that wasn't rainbows and unicorns but showcase her life as a businesswoman, girlfriend and mother. Tamar didn't want an authentic docuseries, she wanted a Nicklelodeon show starring Carol Brady which is fake, phony, inauthentic and fiction.
Yeah it's like she wanted to be portrayed as the everyday black woman raising a child by herself. Her lifestyle is totally different so how can you be mad at the producers.
Why people have a problem with Tamar speaking her truth about what this man David was to her? We black people can be so negative ESPECIALLY when we create a picture in our mind's of how we picture a person. We want Tamar to destroy this man's reputation so much to give us a sense of satisfaction of America picture him to be. We FORGET to hear her say David was there for her in a way that NO ONE was there for her but we choose to overlook that and shoot for. Character assassination for David, and that's a damn SHAME. I love me some Tamar and hope that she continues on this path. Maybe she’s on medication but she flips out of nowhere. After watching the episode when she got mad when Trina got engaged. After Trina had been through so much and then Gabe passing away devastated Trina. Seeing Tamar get so upset at her sister being proposed to was very disheartening. I wouldn’t care if was my birthday. After seeing my sister go through hell and back I would be happy to witness her big moment of starting a new chapter in her life. Tamar was mad as hell and I was upset about that and realized that Tamar has been spoiled and entitled when all that man was trying to do is propose while all of her sisters were there. I thought Tamar was cruel for that.
