The fact that you can’t recognise someone so unhealthy manipulating you by doing her usual therapist cosplay behaviour is apparent. She has been displaying narcissistic behaviour for years and she is playing you. I have long felt that while your heart is in the right place you don’t seem to be able to recognise or address the darker side of human behaviour in your podcasts. Your interview with someone so clearly narcissistic just verifies what I have instinctively felt about your podcasts. Pity.
Hi @Jay, I noticed there was an advertisement that appeared right after Jada becomes emotional while she recounts the time in her life when she was suicidal, I don't think the timing of this ad was appropriate, I felt it lacked sensitivity. Thank you Jada. I don't understand all of the hateful comments that Jada is receiving for sharing her story. It makes me so sad. Jada is a human being just like the rest of us. Flaws and all. No one is perfect and who are we to judge? Especially when the majority of us don't even know her personally.

Listen to people's story before you judge them. This was an eye opening interview. Jada is honest enough to share her story. Thank her for that. People act like they are perfect when someone gets painfully honest about their journey.
By the same token, if you put your own business out there for others to judge in order to sell a book. Then, it's normal for others to react to it and because no one is perfect, it may not be the response you want. Ultimately, Jada can't have it both ways.
This is the kind of CZcams content I like to see. Honest, real, empathetic, soulful.

As somebody who has just finished this podcast, i cannot agree in the slightest. This reminds me so much of my mother who is manipulative and narcasistic to the point that she has torn my family apart and will still sit in front of a therapist and gaslight everything until she appears to be the only victim in the entire world
@@drewfusaurusrexhash3970 often children of narcissistic parents know it intuitively so I don't doubt your experience at all. I too have a narcissistic mother, who never takes accountability for anything. I don't see that in Jada's story. I believe that she is rather a co-dependent who likes to save people to feel good. That's why she has fought to feel worthy, enough and not constantly giving and sacrficing herself for other's approval. I know this, because I have been forced to make the same journey.
This story with Jada resonates so deeply with me. I wrote a book about overcoming trauma, under a pseudonym while recovering from a triple brain injury in 2012.
I suffered so many traumas in my life and struggled so hard to reach recovery from my debilitating issues.
Just when I began to get better and heal I suffered devastating losses and could barely get out of bed. I was done, my world had become so small. I was lucky, but so many others are not. I am not through all of the darkness but I can feel the warmth of the light on me now. But I hope if anyone is suffering that they find the hand they need to hang on.

I love how Jay is so graceful and he treats his guests with such graciousness highlighting how we are all just spirit beings having a human experience, doing the best we can with where we are in life and what we know.
He is not an objective interviewer and he puts in his opinions n give directed questions. He's not a good interviewer
It took me days to get through this podcast. The discussion was so deep and impacting. My 2 biggest takeaways and what set this interview apart from others was the mutual respect between Jay and Jada that set the tone for every word spoken and the openess of her self awareness that Jada shared. It doesn't even matter if you agree with everything she said because she gets an A++ for tuning in and being aware of her life, behavior and the affects it has on her family. Really quite extraordinary
This interview has left me in awe, and I can't believe how deep and eloquent Jada is. It's almost 3 in the morning, and I wish it would never end. I haven't seen anyone with such enlightenment and rawness in Hollywood, and her children are a testament to that. They are so mature and genius. Jay, you have truly brought out the gem in her.

You bring out the absolute best in this woman. In all these years in the spotlight, in interviews, running her own show - I have never seen her glow, calm, and possessing her person like this. Everyone needs that space where they can rest as their spirit feels made at home.
As a married woman i can relate to all that Jada is saying in this interview, especially as it regards to the ideas we have about marriage. They are such pure human beings, her and Will to just choose to hold on to each other in the way that they have chosen to do that. The insight she has on every subject and how she articulates is mind blowing to me. She holds great depths of wisdom. I’m 40 year old mom who’s done nothing but be a single mom and raise kids and struggle deeply on all fronts since i just had got out of high school. i never had a moment to even think the last 25 years. had very toxic parents w/ addiction. My dad strated drugging me first w/ alcohol as a toddler and then opiates as a very young kid and so on. i just recently took control of my life and decided to make changes to love myself and focus on who tf i am. i genuinely don’t even know how to answer basic questions like what do you enjoy? when asked.

Jay thank you for interviewing Jada. This interview has become such an encouragement to my life. I too allowed people to have ideas about me that were inaccurate in order to protect other people. The criticism, judgement and accusations of what others did not know, hurt emotionally, but gratefully it also set me free from the bondage of living up to the expectations of what I thought the world expected of me.

At the end of the day, what we need to remember is that HER truth, doesn’t have to be YOUR truth. Thank you Jada and Jay for creating such a heart opening and vulnerable conversation. We can all learn something from it, if we open our hearts to it.
I guess negative comments are deleted here... it's not about people not liking her truth... it's about the fact that she contradicts herself in various interviews, which is why she is not credible in any way. We just don't believe her. She tried to create a program that is supposed to be "only the truth" by sells lies on the front (or if you like - hides the truth, but why such a program then?).

I recommend watching the behavior panel. Many people simply have similar feelings intuitively - which specialists confirm.

@@soso-cm7kt I can see where you're coming from with this, but I think that's where as a society we sometimes can falter. Nobody should be claiming to have access to THE truth, so she definitely shouldn't be saying that and I think in this interview she does mention something about not knowing the full truth. Everything is perspective. Even as a coach, I can never tell my clients that there is only ONE way to think or go about something. There are MULTIPLE ways to a particular end goal, result etc. That's where I'm getting at. She may appear to be inconsistent, unreliable etc. but let's also remember that people change. We're constantly learning, integrating, and adopting new beliefs. It's called growth. And the person I am today, may not be the person I am tomorrow. That's normal. We're human, we're allowed to change our minds about things. I've watched a few of her red table talks, and now this and still just see someone who is learning as she goes, and sharing what she's learning in the process. I had the courage, too pick my self up, piece by piece everyday. At the end, I do believe it was meant to be. I hated myself so much back then... When I got through it, it really felt like a rebirth. I've returned over and over to this interview.. (and realised I need to find the time to watch the whole interview) but something that really struck me about Jada.. is her gentle aura. I can imagine her being a very solid, non judgemental and good friend to those in and around her life. I also think she's very brave. There's something very 'witch on the stake..esque' about what's going on.. and has been going on with Jada.. for a very long time. I look forward to watching this interview.. and really listening.. with an open heart and mind. We live in a very hard, critical and judgemental world.. and perhaps it's time to show more grace to people.. even if we don't agree with their every apparent move 🤍

I listened to the entire 2 1/2 hour Jada Pinkett-Smith on the Jay Shetty Podcast. This was the most realistic and impactful life and relationship conversation I have heard in a long time. Jada was raw, real, and rational in her ability to express her pains and mistakes endured in this life. In addition, Jada seemed free when she opened up about her constant search for healing, peace and state of being as it pertains to her relationship with husband Will Smith. I totally could relate to how the traumas of her childhood gave her strength to move in positivity instead of negative feelings against people who didn't love her or show her love. Ohhh, and when she talked about showing people grace,,, my goodness it touched my soul. If more people had this thought process, we would most certainly be a better nation and world of beings. Lets continue to be the change of frequency, Jada! I am with you wholeheartedly!!! My Grandma has been the greatest impactful being in my life, too. I am forever indebted to her. As Grandma would say, "Just keep on living." Thanks, Jada! 💕 Namaste 🙏

It has taken me weeks to watch this interview as there is so much to take in and take away. Thank you firstly Jay, this interview has done what I hoped and more - rid me of all misconceptions. And now getting to the end of it - I don’t so much reprimand myself for the way I judged Jada as understand ‘my humanness’ and how I can grow some more. There is no point in having negative perceptions of people, especially if you haven’t a clue about them. To be ok with people, their choices, their journeys is far more liberating. I love the way Jada shares her lessons in life, indeed they are lessons for each and everyone of us. I have come away with so much respect and an appreciation of her journey. I can relate to it so much. Love this….. “I’m getting to the point that when tumultuous things come about, I smile and I go ‘Ok you’ve got a great one for me on the other side of this bad boy!’” I am beginning to get that perspective in my life too, there is such empowerment in choosing the path to be wise rather than wounded and simply smile, with knowledge that this is another life lesson on our path!! I love how jada talked about parents apologizing to their children. This can help heal trauma they don’t even know you’ve caused. I don’t want my son to ever grow up internalizing anything I’ve said or done to unintentionally hurt him. Apologizing can help eliminate all that when they grow up
& her grandmother should have faced charges for what she did & Jada shouldn’t be trying to convince people that’s normal behavior.
I know that was a good point she made about apologizing to your kids. And what you say about healing trauma is so on point. It makes me realize just apologize because we may not even realize the times we have caused trauma. Just today I was listening to a woman outside using all kinds of sware words in an angry tone. While holding the hand of her 2 or 3 year Old. Even I was feeling anxious over her anger.❤ 🙏🏾
Seriously that's why people live with trauma for so long; because we don't get closure from our abusers or those that hurt us so we carry that weight ourselves and convince ourselves we deserved it or are somehow responsible for it. It's a huge deal. So many parents and grandparents are stuck in this "older generation" way of thinking when it comes to having humility for their actions and behavior because in their past it was considered the "norm". But we all have to grow with the times, and we all know right from wrong and love from hate. If my parents and family would have sincerely apologized to me it would have changed the trajectory of my entire life. It's beyond important. It is crucial.

I had a huge blowout with my mama last year after 20 years of me being the good daughter and never bringing up the stuff that happened that truly destroyed my life and left me feeling worthless. She blamed it on the generational thing and I was just kinda like no mom. There's right and wrong and when you truly love your child there are just some things that you do not and can not do. I would think maybe at least be willing to apologize after 20 years. But no I was the bad guy for even bringing it up and it cost me my mom and my dad. It was devastating, but basically for the reasons Jada says in the beginning. Like why was I not good enough for you to be good to me and to show me love? What is wrong with me that my parents would abandon me and not show me unconditional love? Like even with an apology the effects of what that does to someone is catastrophic. I am almost 41 and I think about it every day.

I turned this on at 4 am in the bathroom getting ready to start my day. I ended up pulling out my pen and notebook and watched the entire podcast. "Low Down Dirty Shame" was my favorite movie at 4 years old. I heard so many valuable truths and lessons in her story. I cried and laughed along. I related to so much of her story. The biggest take away for me was her talking about inner self. Such a relatable down to earth share. I really appreciated this. Thank you both.
After watching this I want to send a prayer out to Will & Jada, Jay & Radha, and everyone else’s marriage. It is such a challenging, beautiful promise and it appears to grow us exponentially if you let it. I pray we all find truth and understanding in our mirrors.

I’m so glad I came across this interview. I wish everyone listened to Jada’s perspective and her story. She’s actually really relatable to a lot of people but because she’s in the spotlight many individuals have made her and Will role models and expect them to be perfect when perfection doesn’t exist 😅

This conversation has brought so many insights to me. There's so much wisdom in it. I'm not a native English speaker, but I feel so resentful towards all these people on social media who blindly hate her. Jada, Will and their children have always inspired me so much with their approach to life, spirituality and relationships within family. I've enjoyed some of Red Table Talks, loved Will's book - it really helped me in a dark period in my life, at that moment it gave me so much inner energy and inspiration!
So seeing all this negativity towards her without any efforts from people to truly understand her as a human being, hurts me so much. I admire her strength, this talk was eye-opening to me. I would really like for her to know that there are people who support her and see her, and understand her.
If your heart and mind are open, there’s so much love and life that can be felt in this story. No one’s journey is easy or completely ‘squeaky clean’. I’m grateful to hear from folks that allow themselves to be vulnerable enough to stand in their authenticity. It takes a great deal of strength to face the truth of your darkness, especially in a world that pressures us to perform perfection everyday. This is human. I’m happy to have watched. All love.

My little brother lost his battle with mental health 2 years ago. So many things we wish we could’ve said to them and Jada stated it so perfectly 🙏 I wish mental health retreats had more awareness and were socially accepted. I would’ve happily put it on my credit card to save my brother from himself 🙁❤️

I have always loved and appreciated Jada for her profound wisdom! She reminds us, even through sharing her darkest moments that growth is the greatest gift that we can give to ourselves. I thank God for keeping her long enough to share her journey, in writing, to the masses. There are so many relatable takeaways from this interview. One in particular is the fact that there is ALWAYS a blessing on the other side of adversity. For that reason alone, we must do everthing in our human power to stay the course, not leaning on our own understanding, but keeping our eyes fixed on God. It's wild how Jada can bring up so much hate for people and it just goes to show how much shadow work the "conscious community" is avoiding. Jada is a piece of the universe just as much as anyone else. Her voice is valid, her mess is valid, her process is valid. To anyone having a visceral reaction to her, she is just a mirror, and if there is no room in your process for facing your own mess, you will continue to manifest judgement, shame and guilt in your life. When you face your shadow, give it infinite compassion, without judgement, then you'll become more free, and will in turn have the patience and compassion for other people's mess as well.

My father was also an addict. Never met him in person but did have one conversation with him as a kid that I don’t remember. Unfortunately he passed away before I was able to meet him. So glad to see Jada’s alopecia healed! My nephew has the worst case, he has absolutely no hair on his entire body. People often think, yeah well, at least he’s a boy, but what they don’t realize is what you DO lose without nose hair, eyelashes, ear hair etc. He always has sinus problems, gets things in his eyes and ears, he’s always colder or hotter than others. But God has been good to him.
She herself used to suffer from alopecia and helps other people heal and regrow their hair. She seems legitimate. I suggest your nephew to look her up. She coaches people online to improve their gut health and heal themselves of alopecia

I realized my bias around Jada is what people claim she said/did. I haven't heard it from her. After watching this I can see why she's been speaking her truth. We aren't used to celebrities being this transparent, and it's uncomfortable. She's breaking the celebrity code of silence and deflection. I'm grateful I watched this. So much more respect for her.
My grandparents split for 14 years. I remember my grandmother's boyfriend during that time and my grandfather had a girlfriend. I don't remember her. They never divorced and 14 years later they returned to each other and stayed together until they transitioned. Marriage is a fascinating journey for sure.

Loved reading Jada's book, such a beautiful honest memoir of her life's journey to find self worth. She has done so much work on herself and it's so enlightening to hear how she struggled in life with self and finding her way. There is such a misconception that just because you are famous and have money that you have it all together but she shows us the human side of herself self with her life experiences and puts it on out there. I love it how she takes accountability and has no regret from her life because it made her the person she is today and still willing to grow... Life is not easy and relationships take a lot of work and she points out how it's about learning how to grow together and not giving up on each other. All the beauty and all the ugly got her to where she is now of her new found wisdom. I admire her vulnerability and highly recommend buying or listening to the book.

Jada, you have always inspired me. Always!! The majority of the world ain’t ready to grow and level up from societal expectations to beyond grow their narrow mindset. I love her story and have huge respect for her for being so vulnerable. I remember the depression that comes with being empty inside.. and feeling like your going CRAZY- as everyone else is fine. This is an amazing interview. This is the 2nd time I have felt like I hit rock bottom & Jada sharing the vulnerability of her own journey, has made me realise that I’m right where I need to be, on so many different levels.
