India’s three pronged pace attack of Bumrah, Siraj, and Shami ensured that the bridge indeed was far beyond them. In fact, as far as 302 runs. One gets the feeling that, after the Asia Cup debacle, the Lankans have developed a fear psychosis and do not know how to deal with the Indian fast bowlers. It was Siraj then, and it was Shami today.
The only solace the Lankans can draw from this match is, they could avoid getting out below their lowest ODI score of 50 which was against the same team in the recently concluded Asia Cup.
The little matter of India being the first team to enter the semis was lost in the moment when happiness turned into euphoria. That lasted a while until serenity descended amongst the stands, and the spectators were more interested in reaching home.
