I’m two months in and I have to wash my hair every two weeks (which is helping them loc) however my mid section is budding but some of my ends keep unraveling. Thank you so much for this video, what a life saver! 🥰

I can't remember if I commented or not. But this video helped me in tbeginning. I had fine hair and of course the unraveling did happen. Washing my hair in a wave cap to try and save the ravel. But now I'm 15mo loc'd and loving it. Thanks for sharing.

I did this to the ends of my twist eventually,at first I tried to rubber band the bottom but over time it made the ends very thin.It really is a learning journey with locs 🤦🙃
So funny story… I tried that but my nails kept popping the rubber bands and I just threw them away. Lmbo! I’m sure they will thicken up soon though. A lot of locs that I have I thought were going to stay thin ended up budding and becoming THICK! Lol give her time. I know it’s the last thing you want to hear because it was and still is for me. Lol I’m glad you tried this though. Outside of your ends how are your babies progressing???! How long have you been 🔒???
@@reeicesradiance8498 they actually just started budding, the little ones around the ends of my hair started to bud first I think the smaller the quicker I've been locked in for about 7 months now I will say it was well worth it I love the freedom that comes with locks! I learned the less you retwist helps with keeping the hair thick as well.

Girl I also love the freedom of not having to do anything and still slay the world!!!!! I learned that as well so I only retwist maybe 4 times a year. (It’s new). It was every 2 months.

@@reeicesradiance8498 Im just a few weeks in, probably a month- but as of last night, I had to end up starting over, thinking I was going to do the retwist. NOPE- 80% of the back of my head was a tangled, afro birds nest, with all kinds of married roots. What I thought were locs was really a mangled twist out, smh. The front and sides fooled me because they were coming along nicely, but that back- Lordt! I need to use a rear view mirror more often. It happens fast, thats why I know I can lock. But the unraveling is Real chile! Whew! I mainly kept it in an updo but let it loose while at home or going to bed.
After retwisting this time with a holding product instead of just oil and water (which doesnt really hold for the initial twist) I know how to keep them intact thanks to your vidoe, and I'm back to square one. I truly do appreciate finding this to help out. Thank you so much- and keep up the good work!
I had to go on my computer because my phone was not letting me be great to my full portential. Lol I’m sorry about the birds nest!!! However everyone’s hair locs differently!! When I read the “ birds nest” part GIRL!!!!!!!!!! I was jumping up and down for you!! (LITERALLY!!!) that made my heart happy!! Then I realized that was not the goal! Lol I’m happy you didn’t give up and decided to do it again!! I have found a few roots trying to get married recently I just divorce them and keep it pushing. They’ll be alright! Lol Either way your locs are going to be amazing!! So what I was told was in the beginning not to leave your hair in an updo unless its styled that way, let it be free so it can loc on itself and not be restricted instead of with its brothers and sisters. Especially if your babies are new. We can’t be “one” in everything hahahahaha!! For me wetting it everyday with this trick helped my hair loc and get rid of my two strand twist pattern FAST!!! To this very day my hair is so happy! I’m so behind on videos but you will see when I catch up….soon! I really hope your locs are healthy and beautiful!! I pray this works for you girl!! Please keep me updated because I’m invested now!! Lol🥰🥰🥰

My hair is super short and i am almost 1 month in… since my hair is short i have some twists that the hair came completely out of lol but the main twist is still established… this video gave me an idea because i will not be re establishing my twists lol so ima have a long 1 month Retwist day 🤣

It’s frustrating because it seems like your literally starting over again every time you have to reteñiste them when they unravel! I’m glad that you liked the video! Lmaoo I thought I created this method😂😂😂 this how I did my locs,. It’s basically instant locs no cap, just a easier way to instant lock the hair. Coils are harder to instant lock, which I did first, and loved it; took me hours although. Two strand took me bout 3-4 hours instead of 8.5 hours with coils.

When u first did it , as in when u first started and did the two strand method, did u use the crochet? Or u started using it after a fee months ?
I started out with two strand twist. Then crocheted my twist the same day they were done.

Almost 4 monts locd... But beginnen to get doubts because the are a few. little bit thin and also a few thats unraveling, so i have to retwist them al the time after washing. Im so upset. about it. Im gonna try this method. Hopefully, the will not unravel anymore😢

@@andzeeno I coil my hair at the ends it stayed. There were some… a little more then some… that unraveled at the ends but it didn’t go up any further. I’m going to be 4 years on the 11th of this month (🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾) and honestly there are some that still loose at the end. It never continued up the lock. I know some people who had there ends rounded or just cut that part off completely. It never continued up their hair either. I think it depends on the texture of your hair. I digress….. personally since I did this to my hair, I never had any unraveling since. I really hope this helps! ☺️

That’s not a stupid question. I did do this on dry hair. Aside from retwisting and retightening (don’t do anymore) almost everything is on dry hair. I hope that helps and answered your question. Thanks for reaching out and asking!!!☺️ Happy Journey!! 🥰
Do you face the hook up or down when you use the needle?
When I used it, I kept the hook in a downward position. That's what I did and it worked for me. I looked up so many videos on youtube and Instagram to get a better idea of how people do it when they are instant locking their hair. ( that was the original goal lol) Make sure to do your research first before doing this! I hope it works out for you and your babies! Great Luck!☺💪🏾
how long would you have to do it to one loc ?
So I did it exactly how I showed it the video. I pushed it through the twists in sections and went through them 2 times each with space in between each one. I didn’t give a set time. It was just until I felt good about it. I really hope I answered your question and it helps! Good luck on you babies!!!
At what point did you start doing this to your hair?
Hello!! I decided to do this when I know that this was the set I wanted to start my lock on! I loved my first set but I didn’t like the parting. The other sets before this one (set 2 and 3) weren’t speaking to me the way I wanted them to. When I got to this set, I styled them in many ways, saw how they framed my face and looked to see if they checked off all the other points that I wanted in my locs. The next morning when I looked at them again and i still felt the same joy and fulfillment, I did it.…. Then wet them in the shower to see if what I did worked. Lol I will say this, make sure that the locs that you have are what makes you happy before you do it. I hope this helps you! Great luck on your journey!
