Thanks!
Omg that’s the first time I’ve received a super. Thank you so much 🫶🏾💕
I got small starter coils yesterday 3/23/24.
I just like the natural ropey shape they have in the long run, no braid patterns.
I believe in keeping things simple 😂.
Me too
Me too!
I started small coils 1/3/24 I’m almost 100 days in and I’m locked already (started 4month Afro) glad I started short hair
I started with two strand twists and secured with an interlock. The so called “ugly phase” I consider transitional and the fuzz and frizz is my favourite part. My loctitian asked if I wanted her to use the needle to clean the loose frizzy hair and I was like NO! Lol … it’s what I love most ❤️
What all did the interlocking really do for you?
@@getrealhood I’m only five months in and I’ve only had one re-tie. My next one will be on the 25th of this month but so far so good. I prefer interlock because I’m menopausal and it’s more secure when I sweat. Plus I’m in this for life cause I just can’t be bothered with hair and I need a fast solution 😃
Just started mine and about to interlock as well for security
Same. I have very fine "4a" hair, even though it's thick, so I needed smaller locs and love the frizz. I'm 6 months in now and the two stranded look is disappearing. The frizz makes my hair look super thick and I love it. I don't feel like it's an ugly phase. For once I actually love my hair and what it's doing 🤣
@@karmariawhidbee1489 how’s it going?
I had zero knowledge about locs before your video “Dos and Don’ts.” This is the second video I’m watching and you never disappoint. Thank you for teaching and informing with such care to be understood by all loc educational levels. ❤
Aww thanks for watching! So glad this helps!! 🫶🏾❤️
I love that you said try the style out first then take it down and try the otherway. If your loctician prices are reasonable i would definitely suggest that for people who are on the fence
Yes! It makes the process of starting so much smoother and calms the nerves because you know what to expect already
You can tell she is well educated in her craft
That’s why I love you so much…it’s the positivity for me! I have used the “ugly phase” so often…but no more🥰
I love you too!! & yes, if I can get just one person to reframe their thinking, it really make my work so much more fulfilling!
This was sooooo helpful!!! Thank you. I was trying to figure out which method would be best for me in the long run, and I think you answered it. I also like the idea of testing out the two before committing.
I enjoyed this video. I am into the sixth week of my second set of locs. My hair was really long the first time, so my starter locs were 2-strand twists. This time, I cut my hair shorter and got comb coils. They loc so much faster on my hair!
This was so helpful, thank you. I've been natural all my life but I did the "big chop" for the first time ever a couple of months ago. Between stress and postpartum shedding I know I'm not ready to loc just yet but once it grows a few inches I plan to start with either twists or sisterlocs.
Very informative. Thanks so much for breaking it down for those of us that are thinking of getting locs
Starting my journey literally tomorrow and this video was so informative ❤️ I always wanted to start with coils and this solidified it.
Thank you so much! I’m starting my loc journey this Friday! My hair has always been curly and I’m very excited
So helpful, thank you! I now feel, more empowered about my next hair journey.
Love how you explain everything. I'll stick with my two-strand!
This is probably the best informational video on loca that I have watched.
This is awesome! I just subscribe to your CZcams channel today because it was very informative. Ready to start my loc journey but needed to do my research. Been natural for 9 years now. And always wanted locs but never committed to them but they are so beautiful to me. So thank you
This video was super helpful and actually changed my mind on how I want to start my loc transition
This has been the most informative video I've seen to help me decide. And you.
When I started 3 months ago I had coils but then I changed to the two strand twist I love the two strand method better
I had traditional locs for 10 years and without now for almost 10. I'm ready to start another loc journey. I am really loving the 2 strand method. I absolutely love your tone and temperament of how you describe and teach about the process. It's not over selling. It's just TRUE information. Thank you for the knowledge and lessons! ❤️
I'm so glad that I found your video..I wanted to start my loc journey and this is so helpful. I'm gonna start with coils..with my hair, 2 strand twists always unravel..kinda drives me crazy lol
I’ve been watching your videos and they have been so helpful. I am 6 weeks in and am enjoying the journey
Thank you for this video Queen!
Starting locs on my children and you were very informative!
Wishing Peace, Love and Light to You…🫶🏽🙏🏾
Thank you so much for this! I turned 40 in March and decided TODAY that I want to start the loc process. Its apart of my new journey in life, Im so very excited. Im binge watching all of your videos so when I go to the loctician in my area I can go in confident and educated. Thank you for the videos❤️
how u holdin up?
How are you now?
So, im in the navy. I started my locs on deployment, and i did the 2 strand method. I just used rubber bands to keep the ends together until they combined on there own. Im still on deployment, but they are turning out amazing. I wish i could have watched this video beforehand though
Thank you for this! I love how practical and straightforward that you are.
Thanks for watching! It’s my pleasure ♥️
VERY HELPFUL... Just started with coils and almost washed them out. Watched your video and decided to trust the process and go to an actual loctician
I’ve always wanted to know the difference between the different types of parts to start off with(for example the c method, square, diamond, etcc). I have short hair and Im hoping for a fuller look but never knew which parts would be able to do that. Your always so informative I can listen to u talk about Locs all day lol, I’m hoping for parts video!!🫶🏾
Okay cool!! That video is on the list, but I’ll bump it up! Lol thanks so much for watching 🥰
Scattered parts.

Very informative! I really enjoyed this video. I started my loc journey 3/23/24 two strand twist my first retwist is coming up. I’m still so excited about the process.
My loctician started my locs with coils. I have loose texture hair. When I was a loose natural I enjoyed the frizz. I’m 7 months in and frizz is still my bestie! I’m enjoying my journey!!! Love this video!
Thankyou thankyou thankyou!! You have helped me make my decision... 2 strands! :) omg can't Wait to start
I'm glad I found this video. Just decided to start loca on my son and he agreed. His hair is fine and curly but falls in the middle of his back. He doesn't want to cut it and wash/braid days is a process. This just confirmed my decision 🤗
I'm nervous and excited. I am starting my loc journey in a few weeks. I think I'm most unsure about the first weeks of wearing it lol. Thanks for this video. New subscriber!
I started my journey today with two strand twists last night on my own and I’m going to interlock as well. ❤ super excited to start my journey
Thanks for the info at 8:24. I was so worried about this, but I think I’m gonna keep my coils in.
I've just found you today. I'm curious about locs for myself, but am so nervous to even start the journey. But I just wanted to compliment you on how eloquently you explained the differences and similarities between both styles of locs. It really shows your passion for your craft as a loctition. Thank you for being so informative, helpful, & kind in your delivery ❤️
the sooner you commit to the process the sooner you’ll be happier ! just go for it
^ right. Just dive in!✨
Another very helpful video. I think I’ve made my decision to start with the twists versus the coils. Thanks so much for sharing!!
Definitely makes sense! Great video
I have curly 3b/3c hair and I think I want to start with two strand twist thank you so much for this video!!❤️ I start my locc journey on the 27th🌱
GOOD LUCK TOMARROW WILL MAKE 2 WEEKS LOCS FOR ME
Love the transformation 💕
This video is a gem 💎
I loved this! It was very educational since I literally JUST got coil starter locs. Thank you❤made me feel less worried about my hair
My pleasure! thanks for watching💗
I appreciate your clear explanation. I also like the inserts of photos.
This video gave me so much inspiration and advice.
Literally sitting under the dryer right now. Started my locs today with the coil method. I started the twist method the first time myself but i liked the way it looked more with coils. I come back inna month for my first retwist & i cannot waitt
Thanks for sharing this .. I’m gonna be starting my loc journey the first of the year …. My hair is already very long .. 4a 4b fine textured.. I do want to start them as 2 strand twist because I want more texture from the start since my hair is already very soft and fine . New subscriber !! 🤗… I’m so excited 😆
This is the MOST informative video I’ve seen!
I started two strand twists the first 3 or 4 months I got my hair styled to manage the starter loc phase. My locs pretty much started locing at the 3 month mark. I'm two years in and they are great.
That is awesome!
what do they look like now!?
I went and started my two strand twist c shaped parting method yesterday and I love how it falls how it looks!! I'm here for the process I go back in a month to get them interlocked
Congrats on starting! 💚
Thank you for this very comprehensive video. I'm 4C very coily and in love and braid/twist/faux loc my hair monthly (sometimes a wig break), but ready for long term break.
My hair is 10-12 inches and length regarding the twists vs coils wasn't something I considered and the size expansion was good to know. Looking on this journey next year after I grow out my undercut.
Yes, this definitely help😃. I am 6 weeks into my coiled locks journey & I love it! My beginning stage is beautiful so I am excited to see the process😊. Thank you for this!
How is it going so far?
I started 3 weeks ago
Me too well I started Coils 11/30/23 😊
Thank you for this video. So ready for this journey.
My pleasure! Good luck to you!
I just literally started my locs a week ago today. I thank you so much for sharing your expertise! ❤🎉😊. God bless you!

I really enjoyed this video queen❤
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! I'm going to get my consultation today!
❤ Helped me out alot on my decision of starting
I have an appt in a week, and this video was very helpful..thank you
So happy to have found your video! I started my 2-strand twist locs (short, thin hair) in August 2022. I "tried" the finger part method, uhhh, that was not a good choice! I am a disabled veteran and my finger parts don't look like they right...lol! Problem: some of my locs are budded, most are NOT...front half of my locs just won't loc, regularly untwist and basically, I don't know wtf I'm doing. I want to fix it, but I don't know what to do!...unable to pay a professional loctician, so here I am on YT asking for help! - Be safe and take care😎
Thank you, thank you for this video. I’m about to start locs and I didn’t know the difference between two strand and twist now I do.
My pleasure!
Thank you so much. Your video is helpful and informative 💖 getting my hair done today

👋🏿Verrry Knowledgeable and Informative..
So Being a Natural over 25yrs with so many different styles I have rocked..
but Thissssss...
Im Definitely Ready to Starter Set it Off wit Locs..
each format explained seems to be Cute but two strands seems to be my FAV choice
My dear, thank you for this video. I appreciate it so much. Two, in all honesty, you’re so, so beautiful. In the literal and otherwise. It was a delight to witness you. I hope you’re happy and well. Thank you so much.
I am really on the fence and this video was very helpful ❤
i just started my two strand twist and they are great
I started with two strand twists and then I took them out and I’ve been letting my hair stay out of the twist for months doing two strand twists and moving to coils is helpful because the twists help keep the hair in shape as it develops a bit more so that it won’t come out
These videos are more than helpful
#1 fan right here! lol
Thank you so much! 🥹
I just started my loc journey on June 04 , 22. Trust me my hair is definitely going through a phase already.
Omg that’s my bday. This must be a sign bc I was debating on retrying locs or, the exact opposite, perming and getting a pixie cut 🤭
New Subscriber this helped me out with my starter loc journey thank you so much ❤️
Thank you fo the information. You help me to understand and decide which way to go. God Bless you
Great video thank you for the explanations. I feel confident in making my decision.😊
Yes this information was great. Thank you
I have officially started last night and I’m scared asl but very excited!❤️
You’ll be fine! Just keep on watching my vids for tips!!
I love everything about this video. Great job!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! ♥️
Great video! Excellent advice.
Thank you for watching! Glad it helped ❤️
I’ve had my two strand twists in for a month and a half and after watching this video I think i’m gonna take them out. I don’t know if i’m going to make them smaller or just do coils. I wasn’t aware and educated on the thickness that can build up and i don’t want them too thick AT ALL 😂. Thank you so much for this video cause now you got me wanting to restart. I’m glad I didn’t get too far because If they started budding and I saw this video I would be so upset
Check out Naps Are The New Black. She (and others) have started with two-strand twists and hair is not too too thick.
It really depends on your hair’s density and parting size! Smaller parts will make smaller locs
thank you for this, loc education is important
love the time stamps 👍🏾💕
My pleasure! I’ll include them more from now on 💓
You’ve cut your locs …. And you’re right it’s not an ugly phase …. It’s absolutely beautiful and helps you to embrace your natural beauty
I just started my loc journey 5/4/24 yesterday 😅 i used the interlock method i have 3 boys so running it my best friend but thank you so much for the video i learned alot ❤️
I’m starting my journey in about 3 weeks nervous but so ready . Thank U for this video

Yes, this video was very helpful for me. My hair is very soft and thinner in front.
This video was extremely helpful. I am trying make my decision on what method works is best for me. Thank you for your suggestion on trying both too see what works best.
You are an answered prayer!! Thank you for this video ❤
This comment meant more than you know 🥹😭 thank you so much for watching and engaging ❤️

Glad it was helpful! You're welcome!
THANK GOD LOL finally omg I was stuck on coils already but this ended the battle for sure thank you🤣💗
😂😂 it’s my pleasure! 💓
Thanks, I like the coil look.
My first set was coils I wanted two strand twist but she said my hair would stay twisted which was a lie and as they grow out I did not like them, they were to thin for my liking, so I started a new set back in Nov and I have two strand twist did them myself and I love them nice and thick
Glad the new set is working out for you!
Great video, super helpful!
I can't wait to start my loc journey 🤩
I’m excited for you!
