Just had a new Daikin split system installed in my home in Texas on Friday 10-2. 3 ton, 16 seer a/c 80 afu gas furnace. It is replacing a 25 yr old Lennox. Thanks for your videos. Along with a lot of home work and your videos, I feel confident I made the right decision. Time will tell if the install was good. It looks fine from what I can tell.

Thanks for sharing this information. We're in Japan and this is the brand that has been recommended to us. We're looking at the newest "8-tatami" (131-sq-ft room size) model S25YTEX, but there's really nothing about it available yet. It's good to get some insight into the company from someone in the industry.
Very cool that you’re in Japan. That said, different countries have different products even by the same companies! In fact, I haven’t heard of the product you just described yet. Maybe it will make it here at some point. I also have friends in Europe that say there are different products offered by Daikin there that we don’t have and vice versa.

Daikin is pretty much the Toyota of Aircon. The largest selling brand globally. Pretty much everywhere I've been in Asia (Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, The Philippines, Japan) Daikin is everywhere.
I was a Fuji & Mitsubishi guy.. Not anymore ! Daikin is a superior product ,,also have more options to meet all needs ! I also like that most on their product line is manufactured in the USA !
In 2017 I had a double Daikin system installed in my home by who I believe to be the largest installer of split AC systems in the Phila. area. By double systems, I mean that they installed 2 condenser units, and 7 wall units. My systems are the Emdura line, which I believe are considered premium units. The installer did maintain the system for my 5 yr. warranty period, but after 5 yrs. the quoted price to extend my warranty was more than what the cost would be for 2 new systems. The service techs were excellent, but were very poorly prepared to service my system. They were very unfamiliar with my system, and they would all tell me that other systems were much easier to maintain. During that time, one of my units stopped working. They would send techs to my home to replace electronic boards in the unit, but they would fail immediately when power was applied. They finally replaced the whole unit, but the time it took to fix the problem was most of the summer AC season. Every time they ordered a part it took several weeks to get it, since the parts had to be ordered from either Texas or Korea. I just want to share my experience with anyone thinking of buying a Daikin system.
@@NewHVACGuide All I know for sure is when I was having the issue with the blown condenser unit, the tech would install a new e-board, it would immediately fail, and they would order another one from Daikin. This happened 2 or three times before they switched out the entire unit. As I said, this took almost the entire summer cooling season to resolve. This was when everyone was having supply chain issues, so I don't know who to blame, but as a customer, I lost half the AC in my home for what took forever to resolve. Right now I am having problems with clogged condensate lines. My understanding is that it will cost hundreds of dollars per wall unit to have them unclogged. I just want potential buyers to understand that system maintenance is extremely expensive and needs to be considered when purchasing these AC systems. I would appreciate it if you could tell The easiest way to get service manuals for my wall units.
if the board was failing immediately, then something was killing it and being missed. That said, no one is perfect but some manufacturers were making us wait 3-6 months for parts during the pandemic!

Thanks pal. So the auto means auto changeover. It can run in heat mode if it gets below a certain temperature and AC mode if it gets above a certain temperature. It’s great for mild climates like where I live in Virginia in the spring and fall because some nights the heat will run when the AC runs during the day. We are building a 200 sq. ft. addition on the back of our home where our AZ room is located. It will be removed and be rebuilt as an addition ... that said, we need a little extra cooling there so we were talking with the contractor about adding a mini-split. Several good choices, Daikin being one of them. Just one question, why are they so crazy expensive ??? One company quoted a Mitsubishi 9,000 BTU unit (small) for upwards of 6,354.00 !! Outragous considering I could almost replace my entire home unit for the same cost ... puzzled. Thanks in advance ...
Purchased Daikin mini split 2/18, evaporator coil leaking. No head or replacement coil available. 4 years old and no replacement parts. Might as well buy throw aways!

I'm installing a two stage variable speed gas furnace. Looking forward to add a hear pump to the mix to help the gas furnace. Do you advise adding a Heat Pump fit type or the bigger unit with higher seers?
Depending on the orientation of the furnace, you may be limited on what options you have to match with it. The Daikin Fit heat pump cannot be paired with a horizontal furnace coil currently. It’s not an AHRI match
Good Informative Video As Usual !!! I see more and more HVAC contractors in my area now selling/recommending Daikin. Can the Fit and VRF products be used as a ducted system?
Albert Levet the FIT system is ducted at least the product I installed. It was a heat pump converted from gas furnace and ac. The VRF system can be ductless or ducted. It just depends on which indoor unit is used.
VRV is Daikin, and yes, you can install as ducted, just like a traditional split system, but with the advantages of inverter technology and smaller outdoor footprint. You would have an indoor air handler. I would recommend the Sky Air line

Hello. Thank you for your kind words. Daikin has several different lines that are good at different things. It depends on what you’re after. Check out the MX series, the Aurora series, and the VRV life line. They also have their RMS series allowing a multi zone system to run in heat and AC at the same time.
I just got a Daikin Fit installed. I was really surprised how much power it consumed and how long it took to heat the house from 55 degrees to 68. The temperature was about 48 degrees outside. Took 4.5 hours to heat to 68 and consumed about 21 KW. The cost for that was about $8.82 @.42 per kw. Right now I am paranoid about using the heater on my new Daikin Fit because it would cost a lot of money each time I use it. Is this normal? Or can the installer tuned something?

I'm hoping you can help me out with my system that was installed on 2017.Outdoor unit is a 3MXS24NMVJU 2T 3PT, 2 indoor units are FTXS12LVJUIT24.5S The issue is the upstairs unit operates fine on AC and Fan mode. In Heat mode the fan will not come on. There is heat present at the coil. There is no trouble code displayed. The lower air handler was programed as the primary unit and there is no change if it's shutdown. Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way I am a small electrical contractor and I have some ability to resolve the issue. The company that installed the system changed hands recently and they have looked at this and said that with no error code it would be a shot in the dark diagnosing the problem.
I think they are great for what you are describing. Different zones and better comfort typically. I think Daikin and Mitsubishi are probably the top in America. Both are good at different things. In cold weather, Daikin I think is better across-the-board. Mitsubishi hyper heat is the only thing worth installing in cold weather for Mitsubishi. That said, being in Florida, I think they would both be great but Mitsubishi will probably have higher seer options.
Hi Griffin Air, Does Daikin make a residential system where you can use a single condenser unit, like a Daikin Fit, to run a standard central AC evaporator coil and a two zone mini split heads? Have a question. Have gotten 4-5 bids for new install. Only one indicates they will replace line set. All others say “flush” current line set. Most things I see says line set should be replaced. Your thoughts please.

Well I love the fit but I’m a little biased LOL. In my market, inverter systems are worth the extra investment. In your market, that may not be the case. The fit is also super quiet.

I am planning on starting to build my new house in spring waiting for it material cost to come down.I am building a small home and was looking at the Daikin Emura in the Silver indoor units .Are these systems very hard to self install?I am trying to save as much as I can on house being disabled.I was a Master Electrician so is my son so planned on buying doing everything and having a contractor do final hook up of lines and charge unit.Any thoughts on the Emura line looking at doing a quad zone . Contractor I had give me estimate wanted to do Mitsubishi 36000BTU 19.2 Seer looking on Daikin did not see a 19seer saw 17 I think and 22 what would be best to go with 17seer or the 22seer?
I recommend hiring a pro for the entire install. I'd recommend going with the better warranty unit. The 17 Series usually only has a 10 year parts warranty. Even if you go with a lower SEER, Daikin usually makes up for it with their low ambient heating options.
I have had very good luck with Amana AC and a 94% gas furnace for 12 years . However now I am in Florida and stuck with a heat pump and air handler. So I am thinking strongly to stay with Amana, I like the life time full replacement on the compressor. BUT I just read that the reversing valve is Chinese made and failure rates are very high. Your video says all american parts ( I think you said that) So do you install many HP's and what has your experience been in the 2 years with Daikin reversing valve thanks
First, a lot of parts installed and American systems are made in Asia. That’s nothing new. That said, we rarely have reversing valve sgo bad because we use proper breathing techniques when installing our systems.

Is the furnace in horizontal position? Unfortunately the fit does not have an AHRI match yet with a horizontal furnace set up. If it is in the horizontal position, you may want to look at the DZ20 or DZ18TC
Hi Josh, can the Daikin Fit system be installed to work with a motorized damper that routes air to two different zones, each connected to their own thermostat? We have a 1,400 sq ft 1.5 story house that requires ducted supply and return air, but there is ZERO space to accommodate two separate heat pumps... I have had great success installing conventional ducted heat pump systems using a two zone controller board, motorized dampers, and variable speed motors that reduce speed when only one zone is calling. BTW, we are NOT open to using min-split head units... We've used them previously but they do a HORRIBLE job of managing high indoor humidity situations... Our application is the water front with massive humidity issues.
Brazing? 😬 One main thing is flowing nitrogen when brazing so the inside of the lineset doesn't oxedize. And, another would be protecting components from the heat

Yes, no, yes. I don’t have a Daikin in my home yet because one of the systems are original it will be replaced by a Daikin in a couple years. The other system is a Bosch that we put in before we were selling Daikin.
In another video you mentioned that you really liked the Bosch heat pumps. We're getting estimates for heat and A/C and the installer we'd like to work with likes Bosch heat pumps. I asked him about the Daikin Fit and he says they've had problems with the control board. ? Would you recommend the Daikin Fit over Bosch? Is there a big price difference between the two?
Bosch is made in China, and imported. I sell Bosch at the distributor I work for. Yes it is a good piece of equipment, but Daikin is manufactured in USA and is a great product. Outstanding warranty as well!
Right now I am on a Tempstar 13 seer unit that is 12 years old. Looking at Daikin Fit DX17VSS0361/DV36FECC14 and Trane XV18 with Tam9Aob30V31. I am leaning on the Daikin for warranty as my local Daikin HVAC company has the Daikin at 12 years warranty on part/replacement/labor. I know Daikin is new in the market and I hope it is not a rebadged Goodman. I have had a couple tech's try to talk me away from Daikin and stay Trane. We live in a high humid climate that the AC will run 10 months out of the year. I am planning to replace all the ducts as well from a R6 to a R8 to help save money. Is the Daikin compressor much better than Trane?
I think they’re great. But of course I’m going to say that. Daikin isn’t new though. They’re just new to us in the USA. They’re the largest HVAC manufacturing company in the world and the USA. You’re deciding between two great systems. I think you’ll be happy either way. 🙂

We have done several. I’m not sure the exact number but I really do think they’re great. That said, I think in general the answer to your question is the 4 ton and separate ductless would probably be more efficient on your utility bills just because ductless units are more efficient in general. There’s no duct loss and they can be higher Seer typically.

From a budgetary point of view, short term; would the cost of a 5 Ton over a 4 Ton with independent/separate mini split upstairs, be significantly less (15-20% less than a 5 Ton only solution)? I tend to agree with you that using two separate systems would be much better, with a 4 Ton Fit downstairs and a 17 Seer mini split upstairs (off most of the time). For example, lets say the 4 Ton Fit and 2 Ton mini split upstairs is $17K, how much less would the single (whole house single zone) 5 Ton Fit solution be? Ball Park.... generally speaking. I'm thinking 10-20% less in dollars. Over the long term, it might take 15 - 20 years to buy back the difference in energy costs from a ROI perspective buying into the the dual system. Just on the fence on the two different approaches. We could manually damper down the upstairs with the 5 Ton system and if needed in the future adjust the flow as needed. We really only need a 4 Ton for downstairs. But wouldn't mind having the extra BTUs from a 5 Ton for heating in the winter.
I have an Amana ac, which is a Goodman unit in a different color. I see the Daikin ac as just another Goodman product, they probably are made on the same assembly line as Goodman. With Amana they have to pay a license fee to use the name; Daikin owns Goodman and all the manufacturing which saves them money with the Daikin line.
Mitsubishi all the way. Dakin is that thing that your dog Puts in your backyard. Never in my life have I changed more compressors than in the VRFsystems of daikin.

My wife and I are going to choose the Daikin Fit to replace our 24 year old Carrier unit. Thanks for all of the information your various videos provide. I’m curious if you have any thoughts on a small minority of installers who complain that Daikin is not a quality unit. Again - I stress there are very few!
I would not worry about what some contractors say about Daikin. I find many residential contractors hire the bottom-tier installers/service techs that can’t handle the technology. They will be out of business in three years because they haven’t equipped themselves for the future.
Diakens heat exchangers are trash. The two piece primaries where they are crimped have been known to have leakage issues. The draft motors are lucky to make it 5 years, they don’t provide enough air flow per the blower curve charts to add. The micro channel condensers are also an issue, they cannot be pumped down and when you need to replace an evap coil you have to recover the refrigerant and cut the filter on the outside condenser out and replace. Mini-splits they are great but the best units in the Amana/Goodman line was the Amana Air commands. The primary heat exchangers were one piece and very simple to work on. Very good units they had and went downhill from there on.
I hope the daikin us stuff is better than the crap in the uk that we get. we have so many issues with their vrf, splits and heat recovery units. even from new

Sounds fair to me. But idk you're situation. The parts are going to cost around 3500 to 4500, labor costs another 500 to 1000, then they need to make a profit which is typically a minimum of 1000$ for the company itself.
Single head, I'm assuming? I was quoted 12 grand for a 2 head 24k btu ductless system but that was low temp "heat pump" mini split. 6 grand for a Daikin seems a bit cheap, honestly

Even though Goodman is made by Daiken and is a Daiken product I bet their is someone selling that brand.

I agree! I'm a HVAC technician from Australia and I think hands down the worst units to work on here ! They're so annoying to diagnose and there tech support is garbage.
Curt Marsh both have great reputations. I personally think you get more bang for your buck with the Daikin. But every market is different. You should consider more than just the brand.
Complete garbage thermostat. Terrible, non-intuitive user interface, unresponsive touch screen, and randomly-responding wheel. Screen constantly freezing during programing, requiring reset. POS. Daiken should be ashamed of themselves.

I’m the same way. Was completely exclusive to Mitsubishi. But once we installed a few Daikin’s, we’ve fallen in love with their line.

Thanks pal. So the auto means auto changeover. It can run in heat mode if it gets below a certain temperature and AC mode if it gets above a certain temperature. It’s great for mild climates like where I live in Virginia in the spring and fall because some nights the heat will run when the AC runs during the day. I did a video on auto changeover if you want to check it out.
We are building a 200 sq. ft. addition on the back of our home where our AZ room is located. It will be removed and be rebuilt as an addition ... that said, we need a little extra cooling there so we were talking with the contractor about adding a mini-split. Several good choices, Daikin being one of them. Just one question, why are they so crazy expensive ??? One company quoted a Mitsubishi 9,000 BTU unit (small) for upwards of 6,354.00 !! Outragous considering I could almost replace my entire home unit for the same cost ... puzzled. Thanks in advance ...

I'm installing a two stage variable speed gas furnace. Looking forward to add a hear pump to the mix to help the gas furnace. Do you advise adding a Heat Pump fit type or the bigger unit with higher seers?
Depending on the orientation of the furnace, you may be limited on what options you have to match with it. The Daikin Fit heat pump cannot be paired with a horizontal furnace coil currently. It’s not an AHRI match

Albert Levet the FIT system is ducted at least the product I installed. It was a heat pump converted from gas furnace and ac. The VRF system can be ductless or ducted. It just depends on which indoor unit is used.

VRV is Daikin, and yes, you can install as ducted, just like a traditional split system, but with the advantages of inverter technology and smaller outdoor footprint. You would have an indoor air handler. I would recommend the Sky Air line

Hello. Thank you for your kind words. Daikin has several different lines that are good at different things. It depends on what you’re after. Check out the MX series, the Aurora series, and the VRV life line. They also have their RMS series allowing a multi zone system to run in heat and AC at the same time.

I just got a Daikin Fit installed. I was really surprised how much power it consumed and how long it took to heat the house from 55 degrees to 68. The temperature was about 48 degrees outside. Took 4.5 hours to heat to 68 and consumed about 21 KW. The cost for that was about $8.82 @.42 per kw. Right now I am paranoid about using the heater on my new Daikin Fit because it would cost a lot of money each time I use it.
Is this normal? Or can the installer tuned something?

Thanks for your insight. I'm hoping you can help me out with my system that was installed on 2017.Outdoor unit is a 3MXS24NMVJU 2T 3PT, 2 indoor units are FTXS12LVJUIT24.5S The issue is the upstairs unit operates fine on AC and Fan mode. In Heat mode the fan will not come on. There is heat present at the coil. There is no trouble code displayed. The lower air handler was programed as the primary unit and there is no change if it's shutdown. Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way I am a small electrical contractor and I have some ability to resolve the issue. The company that installed the system changed hands recently and they have looked at this and said that with no error code it would be a shot in the dark diagnosing the problem.
In florida for G +2 levels home is Hybrid VRF a good idea? how is Daikin compared to Mitsubishi ?
I think they are great for what you are describing. Different zones and better comfort typically. I think Daikin and Mitsubishi are probably the top in America. Both are good at different things. In cold weather, Daikin I think is better across-the-board. Mitsubishi hyper heat is the only thing worth installing in cold weather for Mitsubishi. That said, being in Florida, I think they would both be great but Mitsubishi will probably have higher seer options.

Have a question. Have gotten 4-5 bids for new install. Only one indicates they will replace line set. All others say “flush” current line set. Most things I see says line set should be replaced. Your thoughts please.

Well I love the fit but I’m a little biased LOL. In my market, inverter systems are worth the extra investment. In your market, that may not be the case. The fit is also super quiet.

I am planning on starting to build my new house in spring waiting for it material cost to come down.I am building a small home and was looking at the Daikin Emura in the Silver indoor units .Are these systems very hard to self install?I am trying to save as much as I can on house being disabled.I was a Master Electrician so is my son so planned on buying doing everything and having a contractor do final hook up of lines and charge unit.Any thoughts on the Emura line looking at doing a quad zone . Contractor I had give me estimate wanted to do Mitsubishi 36000BTU 19.2 Seer looking on Daikin did not see a 19seer saw 17 I think and 22 what would be best to go with 17seer or the 22seer?
I recommend hiring a pro for the entire install. I'd recommend going with the better warranty unit. The 17 Series usually only has a 10 year parts warranty. Even if you go with a lower SEER, Daikin usually makes up for it with their low ambient heating options.
I have had very good luck with Amana AC and a 94% gas furnace for 12 years . However now I am in Florida and stuck with a heat pump and air handler.
So I am thinking strongly to stay with Amana, I like the life time full replacement on the compressor.
BUT I just read that the reversing valve is Chinese made and failure rates are very high. Your video says all american parts ( I think you said that)

First, a lot of parts installed and American systems are made in Asia. That’s nothing new. That said, we rarely have reversing valve sgo bad because we use proper breathing techniques when installing our systems.
Any recommendations for an installer in the Midlothian/Richmond area that installs Daikin equipment? Have had a hard time locating installers that carry this equipment.

Hey buddy I have a Lux air unit for one of my zones and it has a leak and taking about 4 to 5 pounds every summer. HVAC guy suggesting I replace the unit with the Dakin. Just wanted to get your thoughts on this not sure if it’s worth is charging it every summer for a few hundred dollars or spending a couple thousand and replacing it

Is the furnace in horizontal position? Unfortunately the fit does not have an AHRI match yet with a horizontal furnace set up. If it is in the horizontal position, you may want to look at the DZ20 or DZ18TC

Hi Josh, can the Daikin Fit system be installed to work with a motorized damper that routes air to two different zones, each connected to their own thermostat? We have a 1,400 sq ft 1.5 story house that requires ducted supply and return air, but there is ZERO space to accommodate two separate heat pumps... I have had great success installing conventional ducted heat pump systems using a two zone controller board, motorized dampers, and variable speed motors that reduce speed when only one zone is calling. BTW, we are NOT open to using min-split head units... We've used them previously but they do a HORRIBLE job of managing high indoor humidity situations... Our application is the water front with massive humidity issues.

One main thing is flowing nitrogen when brazing so the inside of the lineset doesn't oxedize. And, another would be protecting components from the heat

Are you still recommending Daiken as your number one still as of Dec 16th 2021? ALso is this the brand you have at your main home? You like this better than carrier and trane?
Yes, no, yes. I don’t have a Daikin in my home yet because one of the systems are original it will be replaced by a Daikin in a couple years. The other system is a Bosch that we put in before we were selling Daikin.

In another video you mentioned that you really liked the Bosch heat pumps. We're getting estimates for heat and A/C and the installer we'd like to work with likes Bosch heat pumps. I asked him about the Daikin Fit and he says they've had problems with the control board. ? Would you recommend the Daikin Fit over Bosch? Is there a big price difference between the two?
I have not had any issues with the Daikin Fit. I like Bosch but Daikin is far superior.

Bosch is made in China, and imported. I sell Bosch at the distributor I work for. Yes it is a good piece of equipment, but Daikin is manufactured in USA and is a great product. Outstanding warranty as well!

Right now I am on a Tempstar 13 seer unit that is 12 years old. Looking at Daikin Fit DX17VSS0361/DV36FECC14 and Trane XV18 with Tam9Aob30V31. I am leaning on the Daikin for warranty as my local Daikin HVAC company has the Daikin at 12 years warranty on part/replacement/labor. I know Daikin is new in the market and I hope it is not a rebadged Goodman. I have had a couple tech's try to talk me away from Daikin and stay Trane. We live in a high humid climate that the AC will run 10 months out of the year. I am planning to replace all the ducts as well from a R6 to a R8 to help save money. Is the Daikin compressor much better than Trane?
I think they’re great. But of course I’m going to say that. Daikin isn’t new though. They’re just new to us in the USA. They’re the largest HVAC manufacturing company in the world and the USA. You’re deciding between two great systems. I think you’ll be happy either way. 🙂

Just had an HVAC installer quote us for a daiken 4 ton heat pump, dual zone with dampers... Explains we'll have to ditch our current ecobee stats because a new zone board would need to be installed. Hoping not to switch thermostats, any experience with this? Thanks in advance
Your installer is correct since Daikin‘s zoning is communicating. Maybe they can do a Honeywell system? And then you could keep the ecobees

Curious how many Daikin Fit units you have had a chance to install since introduction. More than one? 3 Ton, 4 Ton, any 5 Ton units installed? Thank you. We are in the process of spec'ing in a 4 Ton Fix with separate 2 Ton mini split (for upstairs). Or a single 5 Ton Fit with extra vent and return air instead. Your thoughts? Wondering if the 5 Ton Fit solution would be better on the budget than going with a 4 Ton Fit and separate mini-split. We are looking for a heat pump solution to replace our old R-22 Furnace and 5 Ton Unitary. Gratefully.
We have done several. I’m not sure the exact number but I really do think they’re great. That said, I think in general the answer to your question is the 4 ton and separate ductless would probably be more efficient on your utility bills just because ductless units are more efficient in general. There’s no duct loss and they can be higher Seer typically.

I would find a Daikin Pro if possible. There are some quirks to the Fits that someone experienced would resolve.
Nothing bad but just some settings and some dip switches that only someone that’s installed some would know.

From a budgetary point of view, short term; would the cost of a 5 Ton over a 4 Ton with independent/separate mini split upstairs, be significantly less (15-20% less than a 5 Ton only solution)?
I tend to agree with you that using two separate systems would be much better, with a 4 Ton Fit downstairs and a 17 Seer mini split upstairs (off most of the time). For example, lets say the 4 Ton Fit and 2 Ton mini split upstairs is $17K, how much less would the single (whole house single zone) 5 Ton Fit solution be? Ball Park.... generally speaking. I'm thinking 10-20% less in dollars.
Over the long term, it might take 15 - 20 years to buy back the difference in energy costs from a ROI perspective buying into the the dual system. Just on the fence on the two different approaches. We could manually damper down the upstairs with the 5 Ton system and if needed in the future adjust the flow as needed. We really only need a 4 Ton for downstairs. But wouldn't mind having the extra BTUs from a 5 Ton for heating in the winter.
I have an Amana ac, which is a Goodman unit in a different color. I see the Daikin ac as just another Goodman product, they probably are made on the same assembly line as Goodman. With Amana they have to pay a license fee to use the name; Daikin owns Goodman and all the manufacturing which saves them money with the Daikin line.
Mitsubishi all the way. Dakin is that thing that your dog Puts in your backyard. Never in my life have I changed more compressors than in the VRFsystems of daikin.

I’m curious if you have any thoughts on a small minority of installers who complain that Daikin is not a quality unit. Again - I stress there are very few!
I would not worry about what some contractors say about Daikin. I find many residential contractors hire the bottom-tier installers/service techs that can’t handle the technology. They will be out of business in three years because they haven’t equipped themselves for the future.

Diakens heat exchangers are trash. The two piece primaries where they are crimped have been known to have leakage issues. The draft motors are lucky to make it 5 years, they don’t provide enough air flow per the blower curve charts to add.
The micro channel condensers are also an issue, they cannot be pumped down and when you need to replace an evap coil you have to recover the refrigerant and cut the filter on the outside condenser out and replace.
Mini-splits they are great but the best units in the Amana/Goodman line was the Amana Air commands. The primary heat exchangers were one piece and very simple to work on. Very good units they had and went downhill from there on.
I haven't seen any micro channel from them. We've been happy and have installed a lot of them.
They all suck in warranty 10y on less. Dakin is 12yrs. that the way to go.

Sounds fair to me. But idk you're situation. The parts are going to cost around 3500 to 4500, labor costs another 500 to 1000, then they need to make a profit which is typically a minimum of 1000$ for the company itself.
Single head, I'm assuming? I was quoted 12 grand for a 2 head 24k btu ductless system but that was low temp "heat pump" mini split. 6 grand for a Daikin seems a bit cheap, honestly

Curt Marsh both have great reputations. I personally think you get more bang for your buck with the Daikin. But every market is different. You should consider more than just the brand.

Complete garbage thermostat. Terrible, non-intuitive user interface, unresponsive touch screen, and randomly-responding wheel. Screen constantly freezing during programing, requiring reset. POS. Daiken should be ashamed of themselves.
