    Rule number 1, pay yourself first. Start at 10% from each check. In your example of each check at $1200 each should be $120 saved FIRST. Even before you pay bills. Otherwise you will never have savings or an emergency fund. Most Americans pay bills first and only add to savings last. Millionaire's swear by it and would be able to build wealth of they didn't pay themselves. In your example you should cancel things like Christmas, giving, and no going out to eat. Great video!

    Good for you for prioritizing well and cutting out AMZ and other non essential things. I find it a bit confusing why you wouldnt just go through and pay or put 1/2 of each one in your envelopes. It would be so much easier, and less likely that you will choose to NOT put it in one week or another. You have no money at all allocated to spending. You have to allow yourself a little fun money or you will not make it. Its like dieting; if you cut out an entire food group, you will eventually binge on that food group due to feeling deprived.

    Do you make another line for small trips or vacation? For example, my husband flies home every thanksgiving. And we usually drive to a MLB baseball game (SF Giants) at least one time a year, and that's tickets and hotel. So do you estimate what those costs are, then make a line and save for them? And what about splurges? Do you just not ever buy anything that you want? Say your favorite foundation is on sale from 55 to 30 and you're almost out. Where does that money come from?
    And my husband gets paid per week, so dividing up my bills will be difficult. Like do I just divide bills into 2? Like my power is about 160 too, but taking 40 per week seems complicated, so maybe take 80 for two weeks? I could see doing the rent divided by 4, but some small bills would be too much work to divide by 4.

    • @planbudgetsave
      @planbudgetsave  Pƙed rokem

      Hello, I could suggest saving another row for extra vacation/baseball game.
      For example foundation
 all those extra things I am on a strict budget where I don’t spend a penny on myself., but that has changed a bit I’m working another job and Can afford it now. I’m taking money and putting it aside to personal.
      About your power example it is high but you have to make your budget what works for you. For example taking $80 for 2 weeks if it’s do able
      Just don’t stay with out money when you budget. Make your income have a place to go, assign all your money a place.
      Good luck

    Fixed means each month is the same $$, variable changes. It doesn't matter what it is. I keep hearing variable being things you don't need to necessarily spend money on. That's not variable. That's optional. Basic living expenses are rent, food, utilities, for example.

How can I start doing the budget and you only have the half that is due for example I get pay weekly which means that mortgage will be divided by 4 ? I’m confused how can I start if I have to pays expenses every week different otherwise I will not have the money together because I’m dividing it into 4 if my water its due 5th and electric the 10th I’m kind of confused

      Hello this is a step that I forgot to mention, you have to budget a week or two before the bills come in
      For example paycheck 28 and 7 off the month
      Budget with your 28th day check off the month before, for upcoming bills
      Video soon explaining this

 do I pay the bills then start this projection method, or?

    I used to split 1/2 my bills until one month I forgot to pay to other 1/2. I know you said you can do that too. I don't want to use cash envelopes I don't want to go to the bank and withdraw money. Then I am constantly moving my cash envelope money around. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

    • @planbudgetsave
      @planbudgetsave  Pƙed rokem

      This works for me, If the money stays in the bank, it’s gone
      With careless spending. This is what works for me. Unless you leave all the money in the bank and be very strict on how much is left for fun money, eating out, spending, etc.
      Hope this helps

    Question, if your car loan is due on the 12, but you’re splitting it over 2 checks, won’t it be paid after the due date? I’m struggling with splitting the payment but also paying on time. Thanks for your help!

    • @planbudgetsave
      @planbudgetsave  Pƙed 2 lety +1

      Hello, would you be able to pull the whole amount of cash in one check? For example you get paid on the 1st and 12,
      The check that comes first you can take out the full amount to pay it in time. You are able to take out half from first check and half the next but in order for you to pay it on time that first check of the month will be needed to pay it
      Good luck
      Hopefully this made sense

    I have a account we’re i put all bills money that does not have a card I have a second checking for gas and stuff to pay with debit card and I have 3 different savings 2 are automatically withdrawn from my checking and I don’t see the money one is with capital one savings and another with American Express savings that gives me. 3.5% interest better then most places were your money don’t grow the 3 savings is with my bank and that one is for emergency founds is not a good idea to keep money from rent at home especially for a must pay bill keep on a account that you don’t have a card. Better my opinion I also split everything in 4 I get pay every week and this rest works for me and the cash envelope as well ❀

    About recording what you actually spend. Can you or anyone recommend an app (not for i-phone - i have a samsung) where I can put in how much mony i can use every month and then have different catagories and then when i get out of the shop i can put what i have spent right under the categories and the app will automatic detract the amount and tell me how much i have left? I am not talking about a budgdt app. What i need is an app where i registeer my income after i have paide all the nessesities (on amount) and then can put how much i have spent in and the app registrer it and detraks . Only one income/salery category and multiple outgoing categories. Not a budgetin-spp. I am not so good at english as it is my third language but i hope this is understandible and that someone can recommend an app for me because i can only find apps where i have to write how much i can use on this or that. Thank you.
