The man turned back growling and punching the boy. He slammed into the wall and fell to his knees.
"The only reason I'm here is that I don't have a home left anymore." The boy medic said. His mouth had started to drip blood. "The only reason I'm fighting is because you're still standing."
I love the mystery of these tracks! It’s perfect for an assassin sneaking around, trying to find the perfect moment to strike their next target! And the slight touch of futuristic beats is prefect! It’s absolutely beautiful, Timothy! Amazing Job!
Once he was a powerful man, loved by his friends and feared by his enemies people stared in awe as he walked past. Now he shuffles slowly through the masses unknown, as those who remembered him are no more.

Part 1
"So, who is this Velion, and why did they name a Spaceport after him?"
Galaethon had asked the question for one simple reason: he didn't like the look in Tybalt's eyes when things were silent. It was as if he weren't really there. Even now he saw the Lord-Captain tear himself out of that haze, even though he was barely audible over the roaring of the Stormraven Gunship’s engines.
Tybalt switched on his helmet vox to answer.
"An Adraxian general. Fought in the first war for this planet, at my brothers' sides, and stood with the final stand when the planet fell."
When Galaethon had worked with the Blades in the past, he'd always thought that there was a certain strength to the voices of their Lord-Captains. As he spoke to the man across from him in the aircraft, he found that strength to be missing entirely.
"So this planet did indeed-"
"You've read the files and sat in on your briefing. You know all this."
"My Lord?"
Tybalt looked at him, his eyes suddenly sharp, his voice no longer a soft whisper.
"Do you think me a broken tool?"
Galaethon thought for a moment, before he worded his answer.
"No, just a damaged one. A sword can take only so much strain before it breaks, and you have been put through much."
"And you have not? Your Captain died. Raukus was your brother more so than he was mine."
"I have purpose and as long as I do, I will not break."
Galaethon's voice did not change, remained as even as it had been throughout the entire conversation when he spoke those words. Tybalt's voice, on the other hand, changed completely. It lost any semblance of weakness, sounding more and more like what Galaethon had expected.
"You will find that I do not break easily. Stormguard was hard, I will not deny it, but I yet remain, and for the sake of those who died I will carry vengeance to our foes."
Galaethon just smiled behind his helmet in response and moved his hands over the hilts of his two axes. Now Tybalt sounded like a Lord-Captain.
When their gunship arrived, it was signalled by several rocky maneuvers. Both Astartes looked at the pilot for an update on their situation.
Their answer came in two simple words.
"Taking fire."
Tybalt made his decision without hesitating.
"Open the ramp. We're jumping out."
Galaethon was a little less enthused about that decision.
"My Lord, may I remind you that I do not have a jump pack? Jumping out of a Stormrave into active combat is already a poor idea, let alone doing so without one."
Tybalt just instructed the pilot to fly low, before answering.
"You'll manage."
As the Lord-Captain jumped, the flames from the engines of his jump pack directed his fall into a graceful descent, ending in something Galaethon could only describe as a hammer blow, as the very ground cracked under his feet, let alone the cultists he landed on.
The lieutenant's own fall was far less controlled, ending instead when he broke his fall with his shield, after which he rolled through and in the same motion attached the shield to his back and drew his second axe.
His vox sprang to life, and Tybalt sounded almost gleeful as his sword cut through cultist after cultist.
"I told you, you'd manage.”
As his own axes started to carve a path, Galaethon shook his head.
"My Lord, are you always this... reckless?"
Tybalt stopped as his armoured gauntlet shattered the face of one of the cultists that was too slow to run away.
"If you think dropping into a group of humans that can barely harm us is reckless, you're going to have a tough time keeping up with your new brothers."
All this got was an exasperated sigh from the former brother of the Bulwark. For the first time in his life, Galaethon considered whether or not he had made a mistake.
Tybalt's next declaration made him quite certain that he had indeed made one.
"I estimate no more than a thousand cultists between us and the spaceport. We'll see who makes it first."
"Should we make sport of war, Lord?"
Tybalt's sword was already moving again, his off hand grabbing one of the volkite pistols on his belt and using it to fire into the enemies.
"Well, a challenge this is not, so sport seems about right."
The worst part of the statement was that Galaethon couldn't even truthfully say that the Lord-Captain was wrong. The cultists put up a very poor fight, even though they had a good amount of bodies to make up for the gap in skill and power.
Most of them just tried running away, and in the process ran into range of the defenses of the spaceport.
"Colonel, the enemy seems to be moving! Wall guns have started firing and two brigades are ready to move out at your order."
Colonel Alexandria Velion was dragged from her train of thought by the sudden announcement.
"Are they attacking!"
The messenger seemed to shrug at that.
"If so, they're doing a poor job at it. They seem to be running, ma'am. Fleeing, in fact."
"Running from what?"
"No idea."
She sighed. It was always something.
She knew why she had been assigned to this position. Of course she did, she knew her own name, after all. Her family had always made it a point of pride that they would defend the spaceport named after their stalwart ancestor, even if the rest of the planet would fall around it.
But she hated it. It was quite a low priority front, seeing how the port itself was smaller than the one in Stormguard, so supplies had been few and soldiers scarce. They'd not even gotten any Astartes in support.
At first she had hated it because there was no glory to be won here, but in the last few days the enemy had come for them as if Velion's Spaceport was some great treasure to be claimed.
Over fifteen hundred of the human followers of the Host had started laying siege to them, and reports indicated many more were on the way. All in all it was a mess that she didn't want to be involved with, but here she was. And here she would probably die, throwing away her career for nothing. It was Infuriating at best.
At least, it would have been. As she looked down upon their would-be attackers, she couldn't believe her eyes. It was a rout, unorganized and in full range of their own defenses.
"What could have them all running like that?"
She hoped against all hope to hear that one word. She knew it probably would not be, but hope was a funny thing.
Her hope flared up when one of the soldiers reported back.
"Astartes, ma'am."
"How many?"
She dared to actually put faith in her hope now. They had taken note of the spaceport's plight. That meant they'd send reinforcements, maybe even a full demi-company. If they were truly lucky, the formation would be headed by one of the Lord-Captain's.
Her hope came crashing down as she heard the answer.
"Two, ma'am."
Only two.
Command had taken a look at their situation, and sent them only two Astartes as reinforcements.
In her mind, Alexandria made a note, while she prepared to receive her reinforcements.
They were well and truly doomed.
Tybalt is having entirely too much fun😏
And I cannot wait to read Alexandria’s reaction to seeing him in action……her jaw would probably hit the floor🤣
