Bro! this was incredibly cool to see!!! It was awesome that you took the time and effort to go into fine detail and share your method for this insane capture with us all, the results really do speak for themselves too 🙂 If you haven't submitted this for an APOD already then you really gotta get on that, haha! - My personal favourite segment was the 2x speed one, the celestial motion was so clearly visible, epic. I've got to say whoever ends up with that RASA is one seriously lucky astronomer to be getting such a nice scope from such a great guy! 😀 P.S - I know you're a little unsure yet about keeping sharing videos, but I really do enjoy seeing em, so I hope you keep making more if your schedule allows! Clear skies bro!
Excellent video, Bill. And excellent results and tips for those who want to get more out of their eclipse photography. I actually set my scope up outside that night expecting to get data on M101 with a side trip over to the Moon during the eclipse. Nope. Wind kicked up, so I brought the scope in. As you were recording this awesome sequence, we were having a hail storm. Haha. Now that I see your results, I'm kinda glad Mother Nature stepped in. Great work!
Thanks Jay! Yeah, the weather here in Texas has been horrible the past 2 months. 2 days ago I drove out of town about an hour and a half to try and get me a good milky way shot because the forecast showed clear skies and as soon as I set up clouds came out of nowhere so I ended up packing up and heading back home. What really sucks being close to the ocean is when the dew point drops it's very unpredictable with the weather will do. You live in tornado alley so you definitely have to watch the weather close there 😬
@@anotherastrochannel2173 Hi Bill, great video explaining your technique and of course the outcome. I'm in north Texas and we were overcast during the event so missed the whole thing.
Hey enjoyed the time lapse and the great tips on how you went about it super images. I still find CZcams a bit weird too but it can be kinda fun sometimes, look forward to more videos if you decide to go ahead. 👍
Great time lapse. Very cool seeing the stars pass behind the moon and also the darkest part of the shadow moving across the face of the moon. Good luck with the new direction you end up taking a hopefully you will continue to share your experiences on YT
I used lots of software actually. I started with Pixinsight to help stretch and color correct via batch processing. Then I used both PIPP and iMPPG software for image alignment which was very difficult when eclipsing, then went back to PIPP to put all my images into an MP4 format, then made final adjustments in Adobe Premiere to produce the video. It took me over a day to get all these images put together to have perfect alignment and decent light transfer from totality to full moon.
Bill, I was looking for the video you (and the Pixel Math Script) did on adding Lum to RGB image. Can you send the link? I constantly use your PM scripts in my processing flow. Thanks making them available!
Wow, that's a superb timelapse, very beautiful

Bill, Amazing job! Jawbreaker. Congrats for a great work! Did you use any Timelapse software?
