  • Hey guys so in today's video I'll be testing out Gyeon Q2 Wax.
    I currently have this product vs 4 other waxes in a long term wax test but I really wanted to apply it to an entire car to get the full experience as only applying to small section of panel is not the best way to review a product.
    if you would like to support the channel and help me buy more products to test then feel free to head over and buy me a beer at my buy me a coffee page

    I love waxing cars. Reminds me when i was a kid with my dad doing this. After rubbing off the wax we would go for ice cream and my arms were on fire. Love your videos

    Great video, not too long at all! I actually applied Q2 Wax to my Mustang this week after being impressed with it on another car. I really like this product. I actually use my D/A to apply this wax as it affords a thinner, more even coat which then makes the wipe-off easier. Worth a try as I think this would solve your only gripe with the product.

    • @EvolvedDetails
      @EvolvedDetails  Před 2 lety

      Yes I definitely should have used a DA to apply I can see it would have been far easier

    • @doughope761
      @doughope761 Před rokem +1

      You're right. Going with a DA is the way to go to get super thin layer. And I let it your for 12 hours--Gyeon says you can leave it overnight; end result was great gloss and almost effortless removal/leveling.

    Just bought this a couple days ago on the repco 25% off sale and really keen to use this wax. I have never used any waxes before as I've only used spray sealants so can't wait to see the user experience with Q2 Wax. I've seen a few mixed reviews saying it can affect ceramic coatings even tho Gyeon says it's ok as a topper, have you experienced this up until now? Also have you seen any sort of ghosting on areas of the panels? Another great video btw 👌 and I do think the paint has popped more after the application

    • @EvolvedDetails
      @EvolvedDetails  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey mate I haven't had any ghosting issues or noticed it has damaged my coating at all.
      It does last around 4 months on an uncoated daily as a standalone product so a bit early to tell if it's caused any issues but so far so good

  • @larrysing
    @larrysing Před 2 lety +1

    I’ve got Beaut Beads & Gyeon Q2 Wax & have applied them both. Not a ton of difference - except the Gyeon has different chemicals than carnauba & is designed for ceramic coated cars, while the Bowden’s Own is more of a general use high-end wax.

    • @EvolvedDetails
      @EvolvedDetails  Před 2 lety

      Slightly better water behaviour from gyeon, easier application from Bowdens.
      Durability I'm still testing but both last well past 2 months so far on a weekly washed test panel

      Any solvent born paste like this isn't suitable for ceramic coatings because coatings are also solvent born, so there will be issues. Flourine is also a very nasty ingredient that's now being banned across the world due to the ecological damage it creates.

    • @EvolvedDetails
      @EvolvedDetails  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah I went on their reccomendation that it's safe for coatings and hopefully I haven't damaged my coating with it.
      I also learned about how bad flourine is since buying this same reason I am not looking forward to using fusso coat as it.also contains harmful ingredients

    • @EvolvedDetails
      @EvolvedDetails  Před 6 měsíci

      I'd definitely avoid getting it on plastics and rubbers, that's definitely the downside to a wax style product compared to a sealant

  • @charles-antoinelapierre7167

    Is it a good idea to put this Wax on Gyeon Pure or not? Some say it’s not good on coating and some say it’s very good, what’s your opinion?

    • @EvolvedDetails
      @EvolvedDetails  Před měsícem

      For a gyeon coating I'd say it is as I'm sure they've done a lot of testing to make sure it works.
      I didn't have any issues with my carpro coating having it although it is a bit more work compared to a ceramic detailer for example so maybe not something you want to apply too often

  • @prostreetcamaro
    @prostreetcamaro Před 11 měsíci

    Makes the paint look literally wet. That classic deep rich wet look that only carnubas can produce. I can attest as I just used it on my old camaro that I fully corrected and coated with mohs evo then topped with can coat evo then topped with this Gyeon Wax (yeah i'm crazy i know) and my goodness the wax is what really made my ruby red pearl coat paint look dripping wet. And the water beading LOL it is nuts. Probably the last time I'll ever do that level of detail on the car as it is indoors in climate controlled garage 99.9% of the time but I will wax it twice a year regardless. I bet the coatings last me forever.

  • @markwhit

    I also find waxing therapeutic, I find less is more when waxing. Having used Gyeon before I think you went a bit too thick which is why it needed to be wiped over 2 or 3 times. Beyond that, keep up the good work.
    Gyeon is always great and far beyond other coats

      Hahaha I'm far too busy to get a haircut 😅
      This was actually filmed the day before I got it done but yeah it usually gets well out of control before I get a chance to fix it and unfortunately the ceramic coating I tried just made it hydrophobic so the water just beads off

  • @jt-2286
    @jt-2286 Před 8 měsíci

    I know this is an older video but, the removal being poor was down to user error and no fault of the wax. I was cringing seeing him apply the wax to the applicator. This probably the best removal of any wax if you get the application right like any wax

    • @EvolvedDetails
      @EvolvedDetails  Před 8 měsíci

      I've used it a few times since and user error or not it's not the easiest wax to remove as some will wipe off like butter send this has a little more grip to it

    i use this as its a good wax, but one thing your doing wrong is your putting way too much wax on your applicator , you only need a couple of swipes onto the pad, less is more , and it will come off easier

  • @tonechowdhury3739
    @tonechowdhury3739 Před rokem

    I think it's a little silly that you're doing a product review
    And using the wax as a topper😂
    Maybe strip your ceramic coating down
    And use the wax as a base layer And re film your video

    • @EvolvedDetails
      @EvolvedDetails  Před rokem +3

      Why would I strip a good coating off?
      They advertise the product to be a topper for a ceramic coating or as stand alone protection so I've used it as one of those options in the video.
      And if you want to see it used as base protection then watch the series I did on waxes which includes many videos over a 4 month period on a test panel
