This commercial is great, because it really captures the essence of the atmosphere that Sandy's was trying to create. I tried to describe it in one of my videos on Sandy's, but this commercial really nails it. I always laugh at the girl staring at the guy with his family (about 35 seconds in)...it seems out of place!
I vaguely rember Sandy's as a kid back in Illinois. I sure we have eaten there on occasion. This commercial seems out of place because it seemed to be a hangout for cars and teenagers.
There was a Sandy's chain in the Pittsburgh area in the late '60s Their slogan was "Come as you are-hungry" I believe Hardee's bought them out.Wonder if this is the same Sand'y's in this video?
Don Draper would've kicked this ad to the curb - there's nothing here that makes my mouth water - in fact, the burgers don't look very appealing at all.
Sandy's was my favorite fast food restaurant. I sure miss Sandy's
Hey, that's me at six months old in the white hat, with my parents. I've been looking for this commercial for years, thanks for posting!
Wow that's pretty damn cool. Did you parents mention you all being in any other commercials?
I loved that place.

She was lowkey lusting after him...written all over her face lol.
That is practically a movie compared to commercials these days. I am assuming it was filmed around 1969-70?
These were movies. At least they ran in Movie Theaters.
