Hi, im 65yrs and a high psa level of 12.4, my Urologist sent me for an MRI scan and the scan results came back showing no cancer but i have inflammation and a enlarged prostrate. My Urologist said i have prostatitis which is the cause of high psa. I did mention a biopsy, Urologist said their is nothing showing (cancer)on my prostrate to target the biopsy needle. And declined from having the biopsy.
Im a little nervous as my Dad and Grandad both passed away with prostrate cancer.
This morning i had a psa blood test 3 months after my last psa. So im praying the psa level have come down. Results take a week 🙏

Prior to a definitive diagnosis having prostate cancer, PSA alone as screening was controversial, needs to be taken in context of other indicators, etc. How then does PSA become almost all that is talked about post treatment. It seems all the videos just focus onPSA levels is the only indicator after treatment has started

Does intermittent hormone therapy for those with advanced disease slow the cancers ability to outwit the hormone therapy and begin making it's own testosterone to live on?
