    For everyone watching, in the new Inkscape version 1.x, there's an experimental path effect called "Extrude", which basically does all the work for you when it comes to connecting those edges.

    Hi Nick. Thanks for the great tutorial. Version .92 looks great from what I have read. Unfortunately there isn't an easy .dmg file available yet for Mac to download and I haven't quite figured out how to install it using MacPorts or homebrew . I enjoy your videos and always learn a lot.

    Is there any sort of special formatting I'd have to do on a logo I made to get it printed on a shirt as crisp as possible? And if so do you have a video explaining it? I've started doing graphic design work and I'm making a T shirt design for a sneaker shop and I really want my work to come out as professional as possible.

    I think you forgot to bezier the top left part of the number 3 in the tutorial, although you didnt in the thumbnail picture :)
    Also I think you forgot an extra layer that creates a border line effect around the whole text.
    Thank you for your videos they helped me a lot in using/learning Inkscape, keep up the good work :)

For Example how to do all that path effects from the Path effect editor like in this video or in the one with the fish (Word "fish" in a shape of a fish). Thank you very much

    • @popdemtech
      @popdemtech Před 4 lety

      Import the image you want to use. Overlap the image and the "white part" to your desired position. Select the image and the "white part" together with shift+click. Taskbar -> Object -> Mask -> Set

  • @roryi6111
    @roryi6111 Před 5 lety +2

    First time I tried I had no problems, now after I put the outline on the letters and select 'stroke to path' then 'path break apart' it turns my shape black... idk what is happening or how to prevent it.

  • @StrikeAgainstMusic
    @StrikeAgainstMusic Před 5 lety

    Well, whenever I try to use Object to Path after I changed the perspective of my text, one specific letter always jumps back to default perspective, although all letters are unified... Inkscape still seems like a glitchy mess to me

    • @MrIDanko
      @MrIDanko Před 3 lety

      if you have a new version of inkscape 1.0, then you need to go through the "stroke to path" and "ungroup" instead "break apart".

    If you know how to make vector doves/birds, please make a tutorial. Also a tutorial for text that have a striped shadow will be cool. It is kind of hard to explain what I mean, but basically text with a shadow, but instead of the shadow being solid, it will have diagonal stripes. Hope you know what I mean.

      I don't think there's actual screen tearing. It may just appear that way because I'm recording these videos at 15 fps in order to keep the file size practical.

    An easier way is to extrude polygons between the two text layers and unite them to one path.
