I actually filmed this like a month ago, so the fake has probably multiplied and gotten cheaper but still...always buy the official version!! đ
*Also:* if it doesnât connect to Bluetooth, itâs *definitely* fake. However, even if it does connect to Bluetooth, that doesnât mean itâs real! Some fakes can connect to Bluetooth (re: my fake BamBong video), so looking at the lightstickâs physical features is the most important!
*Additionally:* it seems like the fake has copied the manual from the first batch of real lightsticks (mine is from the second batch). If your lightstick has the same manual as the fake, don't worry too much unless the physical characteristics match the fake as well!

I was scared I got a fake one, because of my dad got me a fake NCT lightstick for Christmas, so I just had to check if this beautiful lightstick is fake, and it's not. (Had to buy the official NCT lightstick though behind my dads back he already has enough stress in his life I don't want to burden him with this too.)

That's what happened to my little sister and I. It's heartbreaking AND now it happened a second time with the one my bf bought me as an Xmas gift.
This happened to me at the bets concert in seoul. I realized at the booth where they synch up the carat bongs to your seat. I stayed positive and focused on being in the same room as my idols. Looking back, Iâm more grateful for being able to see them live than upset by the light stick fail, but I learned the importance of checking.

At this rate, like 95% of carats that had bought the caratbong must be bought the fake one including me. But i bought it after pledis made announcement of restock. I dunno what to say anymore.

@@hyl4044 I dunno. My seller bought it. I asked her and found out that her supplier didn't bought it from the website. She got scammed.
There are some sites/sellers that do have legit caratbongs other than withdrama. You need to really ask around (there are facebook groups you can join to ask for advice) or look at other items the seller is selling to make a judgement on if it's real or fake. There are a lot of fakes on ebay but some are real from legit merch sellers (this goes for all kpop merch). It's difficult, which is why I asked beforehand and bought from a seller I know for a fact sells only authentic goods (which I've bought from before in the past.)

And if you are from Spain or South America search in Instagram of Coreabox and then there is the web in their bio. Cokodive is a little most expensive like 5 dollars only but it's a difference

My manual is the same as fake one. I bought mine at official concert merch booth jakarta last month

My assumption after reading this thread is they must have changed it between batches. I saw fake ones almost as soon as the real one came out, so they obviously worked very quickly to push these out.

And the carat bong should have real diamonds if it is a genuine one. Lights just make it pretty but there is no diamond as in real diamond.

This actually helps a lot with Carats that have the light stick to see if it is fake or real! But the thing is with the fake one it canât light up in concerts which is just a waste of money bc the whole point of a light stick is to light up ! It only works in Korea and Japan in a Seventeen concert and nobody legit wants to fly there to go to a seventeen concert!

it *does* connect to the app, so if you order a fake one, then it still might connect to the app. :)
i know, u don't support the artist if you buy a fake one, but if you don't have the chance to like ship it back, then still don't be afraid of the lightstick not connecting to the app. :)

If yâall wanna buy the official Lightsticks online, I recommend KpopTown! They are a Kpop shop based in Seoul and all of the merchandise is official! Iâve bought almost all of my lightsticks from this website and I they are all official and came to me in perfect condition. The only thing with the website though is that it does take one to one and a half months to get to you so if you want to purchase a lightstick and have it come in time for a concert, I recommend ordering it early

i got my lightstick from amazon recently for their upcoming concert and it's going to be my first ever kpop concert. the manual and flaps inside the box and everything about the battery and the quality of the lightstick and the fact that it connected to bluetooth almost instantly in the app and the wrist band font is also more towards the center than almost at the end of the band checks all of the boxes you mentioned for it being real, the only thing is that when i hold the button, the light came on and didn't not come on like the fake one did, but as soon as the light came on, it went off until the colorful blinking lights came on. So, i'm assuming mine is still real?

I bought a real one but my friend bought a fake one. However, the fake one DOES connect to Bluetooth, but it does take longer to connect. She did get a notice from the site where she purchased it from. It said that the carat bong wonât be able to connect at the concert, but that she could use her phone to change the lights. I donât know if yâall know but there are âlightstick djâsâ out there in the concert, who are the ones responsible of synchronizing each lightick and changing the colors. I think what the site meant is that the dj wonât be able to connect your carat bong on whatever device they use, but we havenât tested that out.We both havenât tried them at concerts, but both of them do work with the Bluetooth from your phone. Still, if they both work, I donât recommend buying a fake one.

I got mine in their concert in Jakarta and it looks like the fake one that you have. I bought it from the concert booth itself. The manual is probably the international release. The additional lines were service numbers to contact in China and in Japan. I think the fake one is generally copied from the international release, I guess.
But mine, of course, connects to Bluetooth (it connects for AGES but it still does) but it doesn't really do anything at all during the concert since Pledis is not kind enough to include other stops except Korea and Japan for the pairing and synchronization. Bummer.

I interchange the batteries for the candy bong and carat bong sometimes since they're the same,
one thing i would like to point out is if the product is licensed (it is like a sticker or something that is on the box) when i got my exo lightstick ver 3, it had it and it is golden (idk if it is the same for all lightsticks, especially from different companies) this way, you know it is real

I just checked my caratbong and it matches every characteristics with your fake one :( however, I just wanted to share that it does connect with the app (it doesn't light up but it still ended up connecting with the app), so I'm guessing they have advanced.
The good thing abt most companies is that they have authenticity stickers so itâs easy to tell

Idk if that made any sense lol but in the app it only has the dates from the first three concerts and not from the most recent ones, and I just wanna know how anybody has connected at the more recent shows, carats help me out I see our boys from floor front row in 10 days!!!
Shelby Rose i think they only connect for certain concert venues, (probably not all countries or venues have the tech to mass control the lightstick(?) idk). Well, from my experience was it doesnt connect to the central in oty jakarta. Hope this helps(?) đ
