You've done true pioneering, actionable, immensely tangible and extremely practical developmental studies and experimentation in this field, absolutely far reaching in it's application, you need 200 odd million dollars in NGO grants, imagine what could be done..

This alternative approach you suggest is based on understanding what needs to be improved, studying the variety of mangroves structures, salinity… so it is an holistic approach on BIO-diversity . Not just planting like monocultures do, or traditional restoration (only offering a linear range of a same specie).
    Very instructive.

You should also show how to get rid of them. We need balance and only allowing to grow is not good. They are most easily dealt with by spraying gasoline on leaves at night from what I understand.

Controlled branch cutting is an excellent way to utilize the mangroves with out destroying the whole tree...

Thank you Dominic for such detailed and well explained presentation with successful implementations and results. This valuable information that you have gathered throughout the years is fascinating and is a guide for residents and scientist in other coastal areas on how to properly restore mangroves using nature’s self restoration approach.
