- In this video I will go over 2 hacks for leveling the deck on your riding lawn mower. Recently I have figured out a couple tips that have made this process quicker and easier, so I decided I would share these two quick tips. I demonstrate these tips on my Cub Cadet XT1 Enduro Series Lawn Tractor. Both of these hacks will save you time and make the job easier.

Awesome and to the point.
Thank you. That's my goal.
I have an xt1 Ann’s this a very good simple explanation. However, what I found is as you adjust one side to has the opposite effect on the other side by about 1/3 of the adjustment. Keeping this in mind will avoid chasing the adjustment from side to side
Good input. I do fine myself hopping back and forth from side to side.
I just bought this mower and found this video while looking for something else, but this was helpful. While my yard looks fairly even/level to the eye, it is actually somewhat bumpy when mowing, so the fact that the level adjustment rods only have nuts on the top means that the deck bounces up and down constantly when I mow. I thought that couldn't be right as my last mower (Craftsman) didn't have this issue, but seeing how you lifted the deck to make adjusting the bolt easier, I see this is normal for these mowers. That is a bit of a relief knowing the mower is OK, but it means the deck is going to bounce up and down a lot b/c of the level rod freely moving up in it's tube/channel, because of how my yard is.
Very interesting point.
Appreciate it!
No problem!
Thanks!
No problem!
But I never saw you check the level of the front-to-back deck pitch. How do you? I mean, do you use a level. or what? Also, in a two blade mower, isn't it possible for one blade to be at 3 1/2 inches, for example, and the other blade to be out of whack with that? Or if that's crazy (OK, then), also, if your measuring tool says 3" and your onboard cutting depth says 3 1/2", then where do you change that? Or fix that?
If you watch my full video on how to level your deck it will make a lot more sense. I go over all of those things: czcams.com/video/KhQZRBT28Po/video.html
@@fixitFlip OK, thank you, I will.
@@janetbaker1945 If you still have questions, let me know. Happy to explain.
Have xt2 and the deck will not raise up to the 4 inch mark it goes to 31/2 and that it
You should be able to adjust each side until you've raised the whole thing up. Then level it off. It should get higher than that. Also double check the air in your tires.
@@fixitFlip Thank you I picked it up yesterday it’s used will check that today and they didn’t have the manual for it so thank you
No problem. My heights were off even buying it new from a dealer. I had to adjust mine a lot. @@mikeharris2985
@@fixitFlip it seems like it hitting something or jammed will that still be in the adjustments
There is just a lock nut that holds it in place. It should be able to be moved upwards unless it is cross threaded or something like that. @@mikeharris2985
