- SECL- SOUTH EASTERN COALFIELDS LIMITED is a subsidiary company of COAL INDIA. This coal mine visited by us is India’s biggest open cast Coal mine.
This coal mine is located at a distance of 80 km from Bilaspur Chhattisgarh, Located at a distance of 20 km from Korba.

Gevra coal mine is 195 Kms from Raipur which is the state capital of Chhattisgarh.
Gevra coal mine was started in 1981. It was indeed a great experience for us to see the coal mine from view point and from ground zero plus great learning to see how coal is mined and sent to Thermal power plant through railways.
Gevra coal mine produces 52 Million Tonnes coal per year
Biggest buyer of coal from Gevra coal mine is NTPC which has a plant at Korba.

I am an employee of DGMS Office, Govt of India. This Gevra OC Mine falls under the jurisdiction of our department. I have a lot of experience wrt machinery deployed in this mine, as all the permissions are being granted by our DGMS Nagpur office. But I didn't have any visual experience, so after watching this video, I have acquired some great visual experience. All letters are written to GM Project, Shri S P Bhati Ji, GM, Gevra Project by our Department.
I have been to Gevra a number of times stayed in guest house for CSR assessment. So nice to see you there Harish sir ❤

SECL staff struling to answer your queries yeh sab bol rahe.....wo log ko sab knowledge hai okay..waha itne years se work kar rahe aur aise Coal mines Chattisgarh me 20-30 hai......aur aap waha 1 din duty karke batao na yaar field me, job quit karke ghar bhag jaoge....aur yeh vlog dekhne se laga yeh khud bole visa 2 explore wale ke mujhe jyada knowledge nahi......goggals chasma laga ke ghumne ke liye to ja sakte ho.....but waha ke itne tuff condition me work karne wale hamare staff ko aap aisa na bol sakte.
How can you say that they were struggling to answer his questions , at some point I think he didn't know the terminology and details about mining and plant but he was curious and he has eager to gain knowledge and prospective from the other field , so you don't know he is project manger , in mining you don't know what is the value of project manger

I really appreciate you Sir for promoting our state Chhattisgarh. other states people think they have everything and they don't know what we have in our state. We have ancient Temples Old sculpture caves mountains waterfalls. Satpura mountain range separates the Deccan plateau in the south from the Indo-Gangetic plain in the north. Rivers like Mahanadi, Tapti and Godavari drain through the hilly region in Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh is a Hidden Gem of India. ❤

I had worked with Nigahi and Dudhichua mines of Coal India Northern Coal mines Singrauli. They were using draglines to remove overburden. I will also appreciate if you could also cover some coal washeries. These are very useful for increasing the calorific value of coal.

As usual very well made and informative. I was with Caterpillar years ago. Thanks for bringing back memories. Interest shown by you in understanding the overburden,working of shovels,dumpers etc is exemplary. This episode has given the understanding how an open cast coal mine functions. I had visited Gevra probably during the early 90s. Those days I don't think there were 240 t dumpers. Thanks again for the excellent work.😊
