I wished the video showed more on the back scrubbing of the elderly patients. I am sure there's a lot of dead skin accumulation due to the constant lying on bed and sweat buildup. I'm trying to obtain enough knowledge so that I can care for my mom when the time comes...
So you said one of the hardest parts was the genitals. And then just moved on! My husband can’t stand in the shower because of dizziness. So how do I clean his private parts while he’s sitting in the shower chair?
The great news is it's your husband. They didn't show the use of a small body towel but I poured body wash on one and gave it to the person to use themselves. You can just cut the water off momentarily (so you don't get soaked) and do it if he has mobility issues as well then cut back on to rinse. Right now I'm looking in to a shower head that has an area to add body wash to it, so just spray the person down with soapy water then switch back to reg. to rinse. It's called Double-sided Dual Function High Pressure shower head on ebay. But I have not used it yet so... The real question is how to wash the butt. When the person is walking in I have the water on and the shower hose on, I then pour body wash on the upper back and spray downward quickly so the soapy water washes that area too. That's long but I hope it helps some.
He’s independent. My mother is dead weight- had a bad stroke.She does not walk,feeding peg,isn’t talking,swallowing. I don’t know how I could try this.
I have been in a position to have someone help me shower. Luck that I have a large shower and it has made it easy for me for my helper to strip down as well and get into the shower with me. It is not anything sexual folks just makes it easier all the way around

You under estimate how thin the skin can get when it's constantly laid on
What about when and when not to use towels or clothing that are scented? Some patients are allergic to many products.
I feel a lot more confident!
I pray we here in Oklahoma pass the state board cna exam, I do not feel well prepared by the instructor at this time
