I just can't get over everything Jim Nabors was! He was a caring, gentle honest soul just like the character he played, and man, what a voice! If there were more people in the world like him, what a more loving and peaceful world this would be! Miss you Gom!
A lovely performance of this most breathtaking love song from the Civil War. The actual title is "He's Gone Away." For many, many years, it has been a beloved favorite of mine & will never be forgotten.🙏♥️🇺🇲✌
I am here to hear today. I was also here back then. Jim (Gomer) was a man before his time. All the love in this world and in the world to come BE YOURS,
The episode was titled "Way Out Munster". Lily sang the song with different verses and played the harp. She also made Herman cry. Jim sings it a lot better.
You know what is crazy about this song...I can understand this in my current circumstance. A mother whose heart is far away from me. And deapite her words....she is a world away away....from my heart...though kine is with her....always!
The only down side was how seldom they had Gomer sing. And Rafe Hollister--could you imagine having those two do a lot more music together? But they only rarely had Gomer sing and Rafe just a time or two.
I would like to know that myself! Cause it's so beautiful and peaceful. I can picture sitting on that sereen porch in the country on a warm summer night when the world was a peaceful place listening to that beautiful song. *sigh*
Jim Nabors had a outstanding set of pipes. He could sing in all languages. He was gived such a beautiful instrument, his voice. I still have many of his early records, that were recorded on vinyl. He was truly "blessed" with that voice. He will be truly missed by many. A very talented individual, that sing, dance, comedy, anything that he put his mind to, accomplishments. Well done, Mr Nabors.
I wished that we still had Music and TV shows made like this today.

Jim Nabors really was a handsome guy; he could just play goofy so well. And his singing voice was superb.
I learned a lot of folk songs from watching Gomer Pyle USMC and The Andy Griffith Show

Love Yvonne De Carlo's Version in 'The Munsters'.
A lifetime of music appreciation for me. This is as good as it gets. Period. End of discussion.
Such a beautiful song.
What a beautiful song!
Hard to hear Jim sing and not be completely enchanted.
Jim's singing probably surprised a lot of people since he had such a thick drawl.
The song “Over Yonder” originated in North Carolina.
2019 Rules forever Jim nabors Rules forever he was the best 👍
Hey Gomer, Chris G says ‘hey’! 🙂
Isn't it amazing that everyone that Gomer went to visit owned a guitar that he could play?
We’re more focused on his voice….
Chills. So so good.

The Andy Griffith episodes were best in black and white but the Color Gomers were better than the black and whites. Do most people agree with that?
Just beautiful
The only down side was how seldom they had Gomer sing. And Rafe Hollister--could you imagine having those two do a lot more music together? But they only rarely had Gomer sing and Rafe just a time or two.
Yes, but it did make it even more special when he did.
MeTV Network just aired the episode this song is from. Cool song.
Beautiful. Does anyone know if this song is on any of Jim Nabors' albums? Or was it a TV only recording?
I would like to know that myself! Cause it's so beautiful and peaceful. I can picture sitting on that sereen porch in the country on a warm summer night when the world was a peaceful place listening to that beautiful song. *sigh*
True music as it is it is supposed to be.
People didn't realize just how good a singer he was

Gomer’s got some chords.
Gomer Pyle is gay? I haven't been so shocked since I found out that Grandpa Walton went both ways! NOOO! =-O
Grandpa walton only male Affairs he never had a steedy relationship
AC/DC...
I was surprised to when I found out David Ogden Stiers was too! But great folks
Tragically, the song is about slave families being torn apart. 😕
No it isn't. It's an old folk song from the mountains of North Carolina. Its original title is He's gone away. It's about the civil war. Idiot.
"Idiot" not necessary in a mature discussion.
Even tho he was gay he still had a grate voice
Elton John would agree.
So is Elton John!, And he has an amazing voice as well!
