People were sleeping on this game when the KS was out. So glad it is getting the reviews it deserves.
I cannot wait till my copy comes in it cannot come here sooner
recieved my copy today... this game looks amazing!! cant wait to get out of work and get this one to the table!!!
100% agree - the great look and aestetics of this game outweigh its inability to fit nicely on shelving.
Glad for the favorable review! Can't get it yet though. Still waiting for the KS to ship. I wish it would hurry up!!
Too new for an opinion on it, but apparently Glenn decided he wanted to distill as many Euro game concepts into a mechanics salad family game called Faeries and Magical Creatures.
In regards to set up in Mosaic, it appears that the idea of exploration part of 4X Civ is there but not executed upon. It looks like it either was removed or will be coming. It likely didn't work right during playtesting. I will also look to draw and place tiles on the board face up.
This game makes me think if Civilization and Through the Ages had a quickie, and this was the result, a fairly quick (comparatively to the aforementioned two) yet in depth, and satisfying game that leaves you refreshed and anticipating the next time you can pull it out to play.
Imperium Classics! So good!
I have this game on the way and I’m very excited for it!
Was really close to backing this but didn't because I just have more great games than I can get played enough to justify getting more. So I figured I don't really need another Civ style game. That could turn out to be a mistake. It looks very interesting. Thanks for the review.
That's a tough question. My favourite might be Civ: A New Dawn + Expansion.
Hey Bryan,Can you tell me something about the solomode. Is it clear win/loss or Beat your own Score.?I love the look of the game.I would only consider it if It's worth it to play solo only. Thanks for the great review.
The only civilization game I own is Sid Meier's Civilization: The Boardgame by Eagle Games. So, by default, it's my favorite.
One comment on the List of Actions: They are listed out on the back of the Manual
Well now I feel like an idiot lol!
@@TheLatestRetroBoardGameShow Not at all! Thank you for the great review!
tech seems to work like splendor cards. Clever
Through the ages is king. Still Mosaic is an awesome game.
Thanks! How does the technology aspect compare to Clash of Cultures? I really liked that game, but I found it a massive pain to to try to remember all of the different techs I had unlocked (close to 20 at the end of the game). Will that be a similar headache?
The techs give a production bump and a symbol. Vastly more boring than Clash of Cultures tech tree.
Does 2 hours include the 45 minute set up time?
No but the tips mentioned in the video will speed that up too.
45 feels like a big exaggeration even if doing it by yourself...when I get the game I'll test out flipping ~100 tokens and shuffling a few decks then I'll report back
We do the setup cooperatively (2 or 3 people), and it's quite short.
Really couldn't disagree more that it feels like a Civ game. No meaningful aspects of a Civ game and really boring card progression makes it a fine but forgettable experience.
