Thanks so much - this made it incredibly easy to really give my DC24 a thorough cleaning and get it back to proper working order - cheers!

Thank you for this! I'm cleaning up a perfectly good working dyson that someone was throwing out and you easily saved me half an hour or more . For the life of me, I could not figure out how to fully take off the casing that's around the brush head area! It was just those 2 little screws under the rubber strip that was keeping me from getting to it! I wish I'd have found your video yesterday before taking apart the cylinder and all of its components! I got it done but your tips would have saved me another half an hour probably!

And another thank you! I couldn't figure out how to get that little hose off. I don't want to break mine 😬 but now I know it just pulls off. I'm trying to change out the yoke

Thank you for a good video. Turns out, mine wasn't clogged anywhere, but the roller brush is ragged on one end. It works now, but I have to replace it. The next time it messes up, I will open my front door and attempt to throw it to the curb for the city to pick up. I will cut the cord to keep one of my neighbors from trying it, too.
No ball is ever going to be worth the $, as working on these is a nightmare. Too many screws- which to mess with, which to avoid...? I never fail to fix things, but I never had to watch endless videos with my good Bissells. I'm glad I bought mine used at a fraction of the cost- it works very well now, but so did my others without the hassels. Also, the tiny canister has to be emptied 4 times to clean one room- my Bissells did the whole floor without overfilling the canister. TY again.

Why wouldn't you want one of your neighbours to try to use it. Keep it going save the planet and all that?

@@bootsowen Ha! Most of my neighbors would never have enough patience and one actually tried to chew me out after an old Microwave I put out wouldn't work for him either. If I can't fix it, none of them could either.

Thanks Boots. Mum has a DC 24 . Am in the cleaning game and used to field stripping powerheads/motorised heads and blockages on the job. Not sure I will go as far as you have. A great video. Cheers "West is Best" Now in Melbourne Australia

I have an hoover vacuum cleaner, very nice but it says change the canister filter after 4 months... If I would've did that by now, i would destroy a new filter when I have a good one, so if there are no holes, I do often wash the filters in a washing machine, don't recommending washing them In the soup one.... But still, try to wash the Dyson filters in one of your boshes, maybe the toploader....

So ive just bougnt this model secondhand, suction with brushhead on, week, but if i remove the sylinda only off, fanstatic suction, so i took it apart like you, no blockages, put it back together, still not much suction, any ideas

It is blocked somewhere. Follow the pipes and hoses. I have seen a bottle top stuck in the pipe just after the brush head. Something is blocking it! Let me know how you get on. You will have a great clean vacuum when you’re done
