  • The Islamist extremist group Boko Haram has terrorised Nigeria and neighbouring countries for over a decade. Suicide bombings, the burning of villages and mass kidnappings like the abduction of more than 200 school girls from the town of Chibok, have left thousands dead and millions displaced. So how did the group become such a threat for so long and why has the fight to eradicate it failed? Let us unpack that for you.

That's a nice move. Much better and expensive move would be providing education and infrastructure to public. And for that first they should have law in land with soldiers well paid and disciplined, showing people that they are not oppressor(soldiers) by any chance. That would earn trust of the public.

Girls werent the only ones kidnapped , there were hundreds of boys who were also kidnapped but however the main focus was on having the girls returned as if male lives dont measure up to the same value as girls , the girls were safely returned because of public out cry that the media garnered around the issue however the boys were denied their rights to safety and remained hostage where they were brutally burned alive , Countless numbers of innocent boys were killed but foe some reason the main focus was still centered around the unarmed girls . society once again demonstrating its lack of concern for male lives even when they are weak and vulnerable in a detrimental situation where they are no more capable of helping themselves than girls .
