I had a pair of Goodyear Assurance All Season tires on my 2010 Honda Accord and got over 70,000 miles with great wear and reliability. I just replaced them with four new Goodyear Assurance All Season tires and I can definitely tell they must have updated their technology because the ride is smoother/softer, the handling is better and there is a lot less tire noise.
I agree!!!
I agree as well
agree
They are expensive, but if you catch them on sale than they are good.
Why would you compare a snow/ice tire to a basic highway tire?
Last time I bought a set of 4 Eagle Sport tires in 2015. After 48k miles they were still in good condition with no cracks anywhere. (I traded that car in, in February). Thats through Indiana winters too. As long as you rotate them every 6-8k miles they last. Never had an ounce of trouble with Goodyear tires. Michelin on the other hand....
I think you need to move the camera around MORE!!! 🤣
Would you like some more kool-aid?
I use a pair of Goodyear eagle St tires for burnouts only pretty much. I use bf Goodrich radial t/a tires for my muscle cars.
You answered a question I had. My 285/45R20 Runflats made in 01/18 on an Audi Q7 has the cracking and I was wondering if that is normal with only 26,000 miles on them. Thanks so much for the explanation.
Just purchased and had 4 GENERAL GMAX AS-05 installed today on my 2012 Impala LTZ. As far as handling goes on dry roads, feels good! Can't wait to see how they handle in wet conditions. I previously had the Goodyear Eagle Sport tires, they lasted 5 years... Could have gone longer with fair amount of tread left but the side walls were dry cracking and I had taken two of the tires several times for slow leaks to be cleaned and re-sealed on the rims...still leaked slowly. Recently the tire tech said he wouldn't even try as the cracking was too much... so I did some research and came across the General's and the reviews here on this CZcams channel, hopefully these tires will hold up well. Thank you.
I had a set because I got a flat went to buy a new tire and while they had one in stock, I had a nail or screw in the other 3, so I ended up buying 4 generals, they were really good tires, I think I put about 30k on them before I traded it in. I usually buy continental tires because I’ve never had noise issues with them.
I have a set of Goodyear Fuel Max. They work quite well in the Summer & rainy months. The Winter months are ridiculous. I’ve never owned an All Season tire that couldn’t grab traction in light snow before. The Fuel Max should not be marketed as an all Season tire. Amir does speak the truth about these tires dry rotting. At just two years old I have dry rot cracking on the sidewalls & tread. There are better tires out there. Two Thumbs Up to Amir!
What's is the best choice of tires for 2015 BMW x3, sport, diesel? I have now -Good year, ROF, Eagle 245x45R19. Only 28K ml. on them and they pretty bad ( based on what "Discount Tire" technician says. They refused today to rotate them. And I already bought a one new last April. Really appreciate someone 's expert's truthful advice. I really don't care about ROF.
What about Goodyear tires with Kevlar? I had Silent Armours on my old F150 and I loved them but now I don't know anymore.
I never really had a problem with Goodyear I think it’s just hit or miss every once in awhile you’ll get some bad ones but that’s with all tires Companies that mass produce tires
Thinking about the assurance maxlife vs michilin defender h+t wich one??
I've run Goodyear for 33 years. Never a problem.
The problem with this kind of slime job - different sizes of the same time may have minor construction differences.
If you want real test results outside of this kind of unsubstantiated opinion, the Michigan State Police tests tires, including aftermarket, fairly often.
Time after time, it's the Goodyear that comes through largely unscathed.
Comparing different tire types and sizes, as is done here, is a waste of time.
Exactly I agree with you he's making claims off his feelings of Goodyear tires he's not going by true facts what an idiot!
Just put on a new set of Goodyear AT Adventures on my Toyota Tacoma. My last set of AT's with Kevlar lasted me 10 years with plenty of tread left. They were just getting old and dry.
Which brands are good quality for a decent price?
Still running the oem goodyears on my 2002 caddy. Finally wore them out and will be getting some new ones this year. Them tires are 16 yrs old.
every tyre has a rubber life
Then which one to go for Bridgestone or Michelin ?
I had Goodyear Assurance on my van from Walmart they sliped a lot in the rain just changed them over to Goodyear Assurance weather ready which I've already had the van and I had zero complaints about them.
Its educating to see this tyre review
I’m a Michelin guy and I love to trying commercial Good Year tires for my tractor steers what would you like to recommend me ,?? 295/75 rims 22.5 all season 14 ply
Nick I trust you,I have a mdx 2016 .looking severe aggressive tire ventura Goodyear,Yokohama g015,forterra, .or even weather ready .i don’t about cost .i want soft tire but with aggressive dws?Thank once more.
Just to be fair, I have the same issue with my Michelin tire too, all kinds of weather crack along the side wall and the tire tread area. Not just Good years, but the whole industry
What do recommend for 2014 Ford F-150 275/65r18? Looking for moderately priced all season tire for primarily road/highway but will do reasonably well in the snow. Thanks in advance.
Maybe look into the Kumho Crugen HT51. They are relatively cheap in most sizes and have great consumer reviews across the board. Although they are all season tires, they are also rated for severe snow service.
hey,,,i have a 2018 genesis g80 3.8 Hope its ok to ask what tire you recommend
I had a set of Goodyear eagle GT tires and they were pretty decent. The GTs are discounted now though in favor of the gt2
Best 245/45/18 tires ?
I've always averaged around 60,000 miles on the SR-As from Goodyear on my RAM. One set lasted almost 70,000 miles. I've had great experiences with them.
The cheap Walmart Douglas Brand Tires are made by Good Year I'm told, I mount and do my own tire work with the Harbor freight machine, The tread wear on the Douglas I installed 5 yrs ago still looks new, BUT the side walls are starting to show that dry rot look a little.
you bored me reiterating the same words without distinction about the tire.
The Continental tire sure looked like a snow tire to me. The Good Year is more of a all season tire so it's going to have a lot less siping. Not all Continentals have that much
Great video.what are thoughts on Yokohama geolander 015 ?
Yokohama is a good make.
What tires would you recommend as the best then?
Yokohama. Geolandars last FOREVER
Nitto ridge grapplers are quiet AT tires and ride better than oem tires
And don’t destroy you gas mileage either I vote nitto ridge grappler I got 45k on mine currently and can go another 10-15k miles on them
I have the a set of some that are made in Canada, have 20,000 miles on them and they still look brand new. I guess good year sorted out the issues with them.
I just picked up some Goodyear Eagle Exhilarates. I love them.
Kumho Solus vs Goodyear Assurance on a Kia Sedona? Any feedback would be appreciated.
used Goodyear Eagles on all of my last 3 vehicles, very satisfied. opinions are like... well u know the rest.
My Goodyear tyres are cracked too. They don't make them like they used to 😞
I checked my tires as I have Tripletred on one car. They seem fine but soon I will need to replace them as the tread depth is about 4 mm at 70,000 miles (warrantied to 80K). The Continentials I have on the other car and they are prematurely wearing out at only 50,000 (warrantied to 90K). Now looking at All weather tires, and Goodyear has a new Weatherready tire as does Michilin with the CrossClimate +. Probably will look at both of those as I have had success with both of those brands, very disappointed in Continental.
i just picked up 4 Goodyear Assurance Outlast from Walmart here in Virginia, at 109 dollars each, there rated for 80 thousand miles, all season, only Walmart sell them i think im not sure they might be the same Good year Assurance Max Life, with a rebranded name logo for Walmart exclusively, anyone know or have an opinion on them, i have them on my 2015 Subaru Legacy, AWD
I put the Goodyear Assurance Weatherready on my 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SEL and I was so disappointed and wow were they ever expensive! I thought I liked them at first and hey they were goodyear and expensive so I thought they would be good. Well the ride quality was so rough and tire noise loud. Also at speed they weren’t real smooth. Well ai had them taken off and got the Cooper Evolution Tour and what a difference. Half the cost, same tread Wear warranty, extremely smooth and quiet ride and performed great in the 6 inches of snow yesterday. So I must say im not impressed with Goodyear I will stick with Cooper like in the post. Goodyear is making a killing on what they charge for their tires over the competition and the assurance weatherready was just rough around the edges, seemed underdeveloped and unrefined. So glad to have a nice quiet set f tires in the Cooper Evolution Tour.
I have a set of Goodyear Eagle RS-A's on my Honda Accord - they were on it when I bought it. For a tire with a tread wear rating of 260 I'm amazed at how they wear, they have 40,000 KM on them and have 75% tread left.
Exactly. I work at a Goodyear Network. And people don’t realize that Lil things like drenching your tires in tire shine. Actually wears out the rubber. People will bad mouth anything but won’t blame themselves
@@ABWSIN Then it's subjective
Poor alignment, pressure imbalances, tire shine, not rotating tires frequently, driving habits, poor drivetrain, bad suspension all can wear tires faster.
People expect to slap tires on and that's that. If you don't take car of your car your tires going bad is an result.
@@ABWSIN That's why it's always hard to measure these things. Environmental, road conditions and so much more factors play in tire life
Crack Due to weather? Conditions?
What do you think of the new Goodyear trailrunner at???
MidnightPolaris800 haven't got EM yet
Do they throw rocks bad?
I have a 2019 Hyundai Kona I'm looking for an aggressive all-season tire good enough winter? Maybe a guy with your knowledge can help me
General Altimax RT43. I have a couple videos of them
To answer your basic question... For me YES. My experience with every Goodyear Tire has been poor. My current OEM Goodyear LS2's with 38,000 miles is getting replaced asap - road noise is unbearable. Previous Goodyear's on other cars were low service life, poor wet handling and noise. Conti's were good but low service life, same as Firestone (which sidewalls felt soft). Michelin's are good but pricey; Bridgestones suck worse than Goodyear for my experience. This week I put on General ALTIMAX RT43's to replace the LS's.
How have your Generals fared? I’m thinking of going for Michelins to stay safe
I had that exact tire blow out on me with only 5,300 miles on my 2022 ram 1500 4x4. I put in a claim with goodyear and they denied my claim and said i had a something sharp damage the tire leading to a loss of pressure and that was what caused my blow out. Now i didn't hit or run over anything sharp and my truck has the tire pressure monitoring system and the 7" tft display and i had the system being displayed at the time and the tire pressure was at 45psi at the time of the blow out i was traveling at 45mph at the time on cruise control. Im done with goodyear
Our volt came w assurance fuel max at 15k both inside and outside on all 4 tires was 1/2 worn down at 25k they are bald now with side wall cracks ! Ps Volt comes w tire pressure monitor that alert when low via app too ! Car was alway parked in garage and out of sunand we live in cool climate. I had wrangler sr-a on Dodge Ram they lasted on 21k . Michelin’s , continentals, Nokia’s are what iam running now!
Whats your opinion on goodyear RSA tire 2018 ?
I had a couple cars with them, they gripped great dry but not very good in the wet. Assuming the performance car version not the wranglers
Yo bro what u think of Kelly edge a/s
They just came out but are a really nice tire sold a ton, look like Bridgestone, also Kelly made by Goodyear for value u can't go.wrong
Yo tengo unos efficientgrip SUV y me han salido muy buenos
OK so question I watch your video. So it was 2 years ago. Do u think Goodyear assurance comfort tred r good tires. I drive 20,000 miles a year on my honda accord. And I want a quiet tire. And a soft ride. I looked at Michelin tires just don't want to pay top price for tires. Any suggestions please.
The comfort threads are not bad but Im not crazy about them they been holding up ok for me, only had to replace two because one started to have a tire pull that developed in year 3, But I'm opposite of you I want my car riding like a truck. just a touch firmer but no supper firm like track firm.
So I bought the Goodyear comfy tread tires not bad tires. Work great in the rain
Goodyear Fortera and they are cracking in the tread also
I do find it interesting that people will complain about faster or uneven wear when they didn't bother to notice the change in wear rating from the old to new tire or uneven wear from maybe uneven traction for types of roadways, not rotating or adjusting tire alignment, changes in road conditions from driving different common locations or even changes in driving style eg faster turning vs conservative driving of you or one you may share the vehicle with.. Countless factors that nobody talks about. They just think that their perception is some valid scientific experiment worthy of basing their purchasing choices from..
So you’re trying to tell me that the 35k mile tires aren’t going to last as long as the 70k mile tires? I blame the tire manufacturers for the fact that people walk in and say “I need tires” and they sell them whatever is in stock or most expensive.
I miss my Goodyear I have toyo on. My Mustang now hate them
Everytime I have bought a truck.....they come with Goodyears. But they only last 30k Miles. I always replace them with Michelin or Cooper tires.
Goodyear assurance all-seasons are amazing. Continentals are smoother imo but the tread on them wore faster on my M3.
Its 2020 and I looking at Goodyear Assurance Weather Ready. Do they still have the cracking and old fashioned tread pattern issues?
I wish i got 2 or 3 years out of these, i got these with my 18 ram june of 18 and only put 15000 miles on them and all 4 are bad super low tread and really soft, i drive this truck mostly on the weekends and only been on one road trip.
I also have a 2018 Ram with Good Year SR-As. 27,000 miles. Truck sat in driveway most of 2020. And they are BALD. No idea how they consider these 50,000 mile tires. Basically a 2 year tire, with most of the second year dangerous in snow and wet.
I have a goodyear eagle ls2 less than 5 years old and had a tire-tread separation in the freeway. These goodyears are BAD! I had BFgoodrich t/a KO on my truck for 10 years and never had an issue like that. No more goodyears for me
My Goodyear reliant tires that I buy from Walmart are worn out already within less than a year. It’s crazy I almost need to replace tires once a year. I think I’m switching to Michelin. And I’m buying all good year for all my eight vehicles, but I cannot afford to change tires once a year for all eight. In less than almost a year the trades are all gone.
Im a big fan of nokian. They are a new kid on the block and make amazing all weather tires
nick elias I ran a set of rotiiva ats
had rsa lasted and rode and handled nice till the end of there life
I have Goodyear Duratracs on my f250 and eagle sports on my Cadillac
Michelin defenders is all I’ll run! You’ll get 70k+ miles out of them all day long with proper rotations and tire pressures . Plus they’re quiet and comfortable tires.
I have 15' F150 4x4, with Goodyear Wranglers. 62,000 miles. Good tires.......
Here is how customers can get longevity, spray your tread with crc silicone spray, let dry overnight, prevents cracking due to dry out.
What about Motomaster tires from Canadian Tire? I hear they're made by Goodyear.
I don't think they are
Made by Michelin I have picked up at the warehouse
Continental tires are doing really well in tire reviews. Cooper is another one.
Robert Wright I have continental conti pro. They only last about 15k I've change mine several times with same exact
Discount Tire in house brand Arizonian is a Cooper tire. I ended up with 70k on a 50k treadwear warranty. So I will go to bat for Coopers (American brand and made). I also will support Generals (Continental owned brand, a German company). I did have an issue with Generals some odd years ago with a balance problem. They did last longer than the tread warranty also. I am on my 3rd rotation on the General Grabber STX's on my 06 Trailblazer and no balance issue!! I will say that you need to not hit those chunks of ice that can fall off semi-trailers on the e-way. One came off the trailer next to me and I could not avoid hitting it. Took out the right rear and destroyed that rim. The only time I never bought a road hazard warranty. the tires are Walmart specific Generals. Long story short, Walmart replaced the tire for free.
I had continentals pro-contacts on my camry. They were great & expensive for about 25-30k miles before they became completely bald. Moved to goodyears and haven't gone back. I've gotten at least 80k miles out of every set of goodyear (all-season) tires I've purchased & those were: triple-tred, comforTred & now fuel-max.
@@wes1934 I'll be doing good to get 35k out of my fuel max's. 2003 subaru wagon
No Goodyear tires are not junk. They are however a slightly softer compund than some tires. But the traction and control you gain from using these vs. a cheaper tire, is quite noticable. If you want the longest lasting tires, I would go with Michelin. Best bang for your buck I would pick Mastercraft made by Cooper.
WHAT ABOUT DRY ROT ?
From my experience a tire that is really good on one particular car may not be that way on another. Buying tires on a budget is just a real hit and miss game.
That said..I put Goodyear Eagle RS-A2s 245/45/19 on my 2010 Lexus and they were terribly noisy from the beginning and nearly toast after 20k miles.
I think you largely get what you're willing to pay for!
Think I'm gonna try Continental's this time around.
I think of Michelin, always
MSP test new tires, not 2 or 3 year old tires. The Goodyear Integritys that I have owned flat spotted constantly...after 1 year of use. The Goodyear Fuelmax that I have now are the worst tires that I have ever owned for Winter use. After 2 years they are heavily cracked from dry rotting. My personal experiences agree with Rim Lyons. Michelin, Cooper & Yokohama have been good for me. Firestone & Goodyear...not so much.
"With the GoodYear logo with the foot and the stupid wing on it." lol
The Goodyear SRA on my 17 ram we're good tires and would have lasted longer if I had rotated them more I've ran Firestone destination le and also Cooper they're all about the same quality in the 17-inch size if you jump up to a tire that is 20 in then you're going to lose miles to the gallon, but the 20in factory rim looks cool, cool I just mounted Goodyear SRA on my 20in Dodge ram rims and the gas mileage is horrible over my 17 rims
good years are one of the highest quality unless you buy there cheapest kind they make
Never owned a set of Goodyears that gave good mileage. Latest is a set of Eagle F1 new on Camaro SS. 300 rating and only 4/32 left after 18000 miles.
Bobby Padgett, why would you buy a tire with a 300 rating?? There are plenty out there with 600+ ratings.
My bad, they came with the Camaro.
@@stingray2134 YEP, OEM tires. That is the only way I have ever ended up with Goodyears. Wish GM would go back to the PZero.
I have good year and the are cracking yes.
You’re tires have what’s called Weather cracking. Goodyear will warranty those tires if they’ve been rotted and balanced when supposed to
You just compared an all season tire to a snow tire I don’t like Goodyear been in the tire business over 25 years but give uninformed people a better comparison
Right i side the same ones all season the others a snow now how am i going to trust you when you do something like that
Why don’t you like Goodyear?
Love my Goodyear Tires. Great Company.
Had a brand new Goodyear dry rot. It was only a year old. Garbage tires. Vibrations for no reason.
I paid $63 per tire for viva 3 all season. Far better than oem Bridgestone teranza even though the tread pattern is nearly identical.
Lol how are they now?
My good year assurance tired slip in the dry
I've got Goodyear eagle touring tires that came with my truck, new. I've had them for a year and can see the sidewalls are starting to show cracks. They've got poor traction in ANY rainy condition, my only saving grace is the drought we're going through in Texas. I'd rather have Coopers than Goodyear tires on my next tire purchase.
Goodyear=Cooper now, after M&A.
I worked at the Goodyear plant in lawton. They suck.
The Goodyear Eagle LS2 on my wife's 2015 Honda (30k miles) have plenty of tread left and handle great but are full of dry rot like you mentioned and need to be replaced prematurely because of that.
Goodyear = good for one year!
I found watching this shaky video very tiring.
If the tread pattern works, why change it?
If it's not broken, don't fix it.
One years.
I have Continental contact on my car now and they r loud riding tires.
Yeah I imagine when I replace my tires for ones with tread contact then it will probably generate more sound.
Soooo, this video commits to nothing. Got it.
Ya know what's 'junk'? Video for the sake of video and that's about it.
My experience with Goodyear is junk. My experience with dunlop is great. And that's funny because dunlop is owned by Goodyear
😂😂😄😄😀
comparing an all season to a winter tire on sipes is apples and oranges./
As a past employee of Goodyear, if the tire was an OEM tire, it was an OK tire. Less than 60% of the tires in my plant could make the OEM specifications. But, we sold the rest somewhere else. Were they any good? Not for my Money. The Greedyear brand does not guarantee good tires.

What do you Think of the Eagle RS-A for the vic?
The Cookster try Nokians or General Tires they are cheaper but I think better quality. Like the guy said in the video Goodyear has dry rot. I work in a tire shop and saw a Goodyear tire tear thru the inner lining after just getting the tires.
I build them and run them on my truck. Can run what ever i want.wouldn't run trash with what I'm paid I can buy what ever I want
Goodyear tires were still garbage even 20 years ago . Horrible in wet weather and dry rotting issues.
Ira Stubbs false
LAD Fan .. I've been driving taxis for 18 years and my personal vehicles before that . I've learned to avoid Goodyear , this comes from personal experiences. Although The Goodyear Ultra Grip were the most durable tires I've owned , but the still sucked horribly as far as wet traction.
I have 3 year old good years some normal cracking by rim but no dry rotting. I haven't lost control in the rain either.
I was not impressed with my OEM Goodyear LS-2.
AGREED
I Run Goodyear Tires on all 3 of my a Vechicles from Nissan Sentra SV to Dodge Grand Caravan SE + to a Nissan Rogue SV AWD never had any problems all 3 have Goodyear Weather Ready all season
Dodge : came new from factory with Kumho Tires nice ride poor wet / snow traction..
Nissan Rogue : same Kumho Tires
Nissan Sentra : Continental Tires not to a Bad.. lacked Snow Traction..
The Goodyear Tires mentioned in this Video where not Goodyear Best all season Truck / SUV tire midline.
With that being said the Video was poorly done .. 1Star rReview
