In my experience,,,,The reason why JP DC is very strict on world travel is because mana is like Aeher/Light, (as many know) but not just that............. it is during gold hours so full you cannot enter any worlds for tuesdays weekly reclears even after months. I did not see this in EU/NA yet. And I do not know if this is worse in JP but I do know massive amount of players, not 'a lot' but HUGE numbers, stay in Mana DC for months at a time, which also has caused many, many rechnical issue. Mana DC has been congested entirely since DC travel available. Ironically, all the players I play with in JP and friends, and others from LC have said "I wish this never happened, I miss being able to stay in my own DC" but FOMO is huge where people worried unable to raid / unable to travel to raid DC for clear/practices which led to people locked out of their homeworlds/permanently staying. I am glad they made more restrictions, but JP is really troublesome.... This is why they now enforced being logged out if you're not from the DC, because people refuse to go out .(moving DC is impossible to Mana) I think also a part of it, is because people's online times and the golden hours/active hours are very consistent, even downtimes while it changes, it stays consistent on times. Of course, I am only speaking of experience/others opinions in JP DC so my experience/opinions may not allign with others from JP DC. In any other DC there is no / barely PF, and another irony: there is usually around 500 PF during reclears, but filling pf takes long time because of competition. (Elemental DC is always filled with the English speaking community though!!! Which is nice to see also) But there is now huge diversity... more than ever before. ^^; I remember to go to weekly reclear, I'd have to, and have to in DT also move on Sunday/Monday so I have weekly chance on Tuesdays. We don't like it, I don't like it. (Same way I miss Crystal DC raiding. Lower clear rate, but VERY friendly/fun and positive attitude players!!! so I was never frustrated, I just cared about the fun through the runs...shoutout to Crystal raiders \o/)
As an Elemental DC English player. There really aren't that many on Gungnir. Most stay on Tonberry. But our FC is Bilingual. So we try to accommodate everyone.
i really like how they plan all of this stuff to mitigate a congestion. And creating a post to point out what we have to do in case of congestion... 👏👏

You're going to regret that when all the people from the 3 other DC's all pile into your DC after theirs fill up, every single day, for a month lol
The only problem with that server is nobody raids on there. I'm on Dynamis. The queue times are horrible for trying to raid content I have to go to another Data Center just to raid. I don't know what people do on that server. but they just stand around in town with their hands in their pocket. Raid Q is more than 30 minutes + I don't have time for that. Aether is 5min Qs
@@7DiceGaming Everyone who has their character created on the Dynamis DC is world visiting to other DC's. People came into it for the free-grabs houses, and the massive exp buff that lasts 90 days. Dynamis will eventually fill up over time, its just a matter of when.

I welcome it. I always travel out of Dynamis because frontline queues are impossible with the player count. At least travel is open going to Dynamis, since I can’t leave to queue into things anymore.

We get priority with login so people coming over only helps our queues for content
Been playing the game for 3 years and only now learned you can right-click your char in the log in screen (I don't world travel at all )
i will say, for those wanting to come across to oce on DT release, i would recommend a vpn to have better ping. if you want to play viper just be aware that double weaves will be harder to perform on higher ping. Also if you are coming across make sure if you are doing hunts you inform people on the respective discords and wait till people have gathered. Looking forward to playing with everyone in Dawntrail :)
Rather stay in 20k queue than leave my retainers and unspoiled nodes, not to mention losing FC credits from doing content if not in Home World

Increasing login queue capacity by 50% doesn't mean 50% less errors. If that was the case, increasing the capacity by 100% would mean no error at all, which is of course wrong. We can't know at all how much less errors we'll have, as we don't know how many players were exceeding the capacity.
All these Travel options are nice and all but as long as i'm unable to use Retainers they are useless to me.
I never use my retainers so this is a W
I hate having to go to aether to raid, even with a static cuz they want to be there in case we have to PF someone. I prefer Primal.
Tbf, if it turns out to me a matter of whether you can log in at all or not I feel that'd make a bit of difference

People have requested a lot "DC wide PF" which means being able to join PF across the entire DC and staying at your own home world. YoshiP said, they had to, during EW finish up everything involving solo-playing and graphical updates/NPC etc etc, which affected a lot of focus away from the usual content releases and the desires people had, but that they would really want to implement it, but for it to be implemented would take roughly 4 years (as it is huge undertaking) so I have hopes for 8.0 but understand also if it is unable still. (I wonder if Cloud test was also partially to do with it) this would be a definite solution rather than release FC buffs first DC wide, year or two later retainers, slooowly getting there.... this solution sounded the best to me! Although it will take time, I feel they are going to work on it ASAP given the ... bad conditions in JP DC (to be honest, across all DC, but JP can be very unplayable for raid, whch I made separate comment about)

I wish they'd keep the DC travel thing down tbh. I miss having a functional PF on Primal. I miss my house.
I won't be able to log in until later in the evening, after work. Hopefully the experience won't be too bad or else I'm going to have to find something else to do over the weekend 😅
You can do what plan on doing. Log in, and then make dinner/do stuff while you wait in the que. Got a couple books I can read while waiting lol.
Unfortunately, and I hope this does not end up being the case, but if the queues end up being as bad as endwalker chances are you will probably have to find something else to do for a few weeks and not simply the weekend if you are not on complete vampire hours ( I waited 8+ hours to log in during the day and into the evening during endwalker, not even joking) the only reliable way to even get in during endwalker was to wake up and log in at 4am est during that launch and then continue to play the whole day I shit u not I was playing for 32 hours straight except for quick breaks to eat and use the bathroom so that I was not booted because of the 30 minute afk auto kick from the game when I was playing during one day of the launch week of endwalker
@@meitomiyazaki9848 Yeah, 4:00 am strat was what I used. I'd stay on all day and only log off once I was too tired to play anymore.
Hmm, there used to be a workaround for not getting booted off if you were afk. I'm trying to remember what it was. I think opening like the UI menu where you can adjust your hotbars and stuff would do it, or something like that. I remember using something like that to keep it from kicking me if I was afk for more than 30 minutes.
i would really enjoy if they added a cross data center party finder system so we don't have to travel from primal/crystal/dynamis to find raids because people only raid on aether
Whelp I got therapy that day but hey I get my lunch, come home and nap. Then try later to get in if not be happy for those that get in. Also been glad I have people that will not SPOIL things! Had things spoil in the past but with this community nothing! So ye looking forward to it!
To be on the safe side I disable Shout (and even yell) in the Chat optins (In the chat window, cogwheel at the bottom right, "chat log setings "). It's rare but it happens and while the 14 community is as you say, very good about spoilers, peoples' definition of spoiler can differ. I also stay off social media.
11:53 surprisingly, when I DC travel to OCE during those times, yeah, I get a 50 person queue. It's picked up a lot in the lead up to DT. Outside of that it's very quiet though.
I agree... Stormblood and Endwalker congestion sucked a lot. Shadowbringers was super smooth. I hope to see this again.

For what it's worth, at 5.00am this morning Australian Eastern Time there was a queue to log in to Materia. Manage your expectations.
Unless the queue is over 100, it’s not a real queue. The devs have described logging in as a rotating door where about 100 players log in to a world at a time at once instead of one at a time. This helps with server stability apparently
@@EclipseBlade1871 Yes but my point is that if there is any queue at all at 5.30am, a couple of weeks before the new expansion, then you can reasonably expect a wait. Even on Materia.
@@julianpage it doesn’t matter how slow the game is right now, there will ALWAYS be a “queue” when logging in because of the rotating door. It has been this way for years, it is by design and it is working exactly as intended. Anything under 100 “in queue” means you are part of the next group to be logged in once per minute.
@@EclipseBlade1871 Not regularly on Materia for most of the last 18 months or so since its establishment, and especially not at 500am at least not in my experience. Yours may be different. In any case, none of this is relevant to my first post.

Can't even pre order DT cause my finances got screwed up somehow, so while that sucks, least I won't have to deal with the login ques as much once I actually can purchase the expansion.
I assume that returning to home world will still function. (and yes, even with cross-world, you can warp back to your home world within the character menu.) So JP players will likely be instructed to return home if there's too many people in one place.
As a Dynamis player I cannot tell you how thrilled this makes me. Yeeeeessssss, force all the bastards who came here to snag the xp buff then abandon our queues be forced to play on their home DC. I can't wait XD. Not to mention it will make people travel TO Dynamis to be able to even play which will help us out so much.
Tbf Materia's an option as well but, how many players in the big three are willing to suffer high pings or use VPNs to make things a little easier than just traveling to any of the eight servers in Dynamis. Seraph's still popular due to it's name and it's most populated in the DC, and Kraken's looking to be number 2 with time.
Hoping all the people traveling to Dynamis don't ruin the super kind culture we've got going on here. It's a stark difference between here and aether.
As an Australian player who hasn't transferred off of Primal due to friends I've had there for close to a decade... this suits me perfectly lmao (outside of no access to retainers or fc actions of course, but I can deal without those for a while).

I don't know why they didn't give people the option to free transfer to the new worlds to reduce congestion on launch. Idk maybe they did originally but I just got back to the game a few weeks back and would transfer if it meant easier access as I do not have anything keeping me on current server anymore
Yes, come to Dynamis so I can stay home and chill. Not like we'll be needing that many queues to begin with, especially if the first trial has Duty Support again. I'm hoping when we reach trials we can travel if need be...
Still, I'm very glad to see they took precautions and as a last resort we can just disregard ping and go to Oceania lol
Wanted to transfer servers to play with my buddies but I didn't know how any of that works in FF14. Now I'm stuck on a different data center and can't play with my buddies at all. Kinda killed my motivation to play the game.
right the ping.... well shit.... if your in crystal and you go to dynamis are you allowed to head back to your own server if not this could be a problem i mean the dawn trail launch is hyped.... and I hope they make 2 more servers on dynamis
The issue i have, is if home visit is disabled, we lose access to market board for all worlds apart from our homeworld, meaning crafters who need supplies are going to be screwed by increased inflation because they cant get supplies from other servers….. 😢😢😢

Might be a stupid question but hoping for a answer, if I DC travel to Aether before the 48 hour maintenance begins will it kick me back to my home world or will I just get stuck in the lower priority queue? Thanks in advance to any kind souls if you answer.
Why isnt Automatic Logout always on? For many, many years now, there is ALWAYS a queue, even if small. Is there a reason someone would need to be AFK more than 30 minutes?

As the other person said the players native to that DC and that particular world get priority over other players.
Can you Fantasia and Aesthetician while data center travelling? You can't FC chat, right? But I need to poof into femhroth when I get in so...I was considering using the Fantasia before logging out for maintenance so it's there when I log in and I don't have to log in, drink it, and log back out. If I do all that while on Dynamis pre-expansion-launch would it work correctly?
I have had a fantasia popped on my main without using it for over a year now. It doesn't disappear. I don't know if a pre-popped fantasia will follow the new rules regarding fantasia but for me, it never disappeared.
Pretty sure as long as you log out in the nude before maint with a Fanta popped you are all good I think, if you want every restriction in a neat table/list just Google "FFXIV data center travel system" it wil give you the lodestone page detailing everything you can and cannot do when DC traveling.

I know you can access your glamour dresser, so I'm cautiously optimistic you can fantasia, etc. ...but I can't swear to it. You have no access to your FC (chat, buffs, etc.) or retainers. You cannot gather timed from timed nodes, but you can do GC, collectable, and custom delivery turn-ins.
"Has many open spaces" Kinda depends on the time of day tbh, i still run into a few queues now and then to login to my OCE character, if it becomes too much of an issue i hope they turn that function off instead of continuing to screw over OCE

@@jareddrake8656raubahn savage and pipin ex were almost entirely caused by putting 2 relatively long msq solo instances before the first dungeon. A dungeon before the instances would’ve bottlenecked the DPS from taking up instance slots and eased congestion since it was a 2 new dps expansion.
Noooo!!! Please don't swarm the OCE servers. They are unstable enough as it is. Server drops all the time.
So I'm curious if I should preemptively travel to Dynamis for early access but if I do that I apparently won't have access to the same Aether duty finder which has really good queue times and I'll also not be able to play with my FC mates, get FC buffs, or access my retainers. My biggest worry with this is honestly not having access to my retainers as I plan to spend the entire first day just leveling Pictomancer to 90 and then getting it's lvl 90 gear set aside along with 1 or two other jobs. Because of this, two things that I will definitely want access to are my retainers to move excess gear around but more importantly the Aether duty finder which will hopefully be popping with lower level things along with higher level things. If significant people go over to Dynamis then MAYBE their Duty Finder will be pretty good but I just kind of doubt it. The problem is that I have zero experience with anything other than Aether and a single world on Primal which unfortunately wasn't a very good experience. Maybe I should just make a new character on Dynamis to get a feel for queues there to see if it's worth moving or if it would be better to just wait through the queues. After all, the Endwalker queues were really only horrendous because the queue kept breaking and kicking us out. I thought they had fixed that issues after the initial release as they said they found some old 1.0 code that was causing issues but this message makes it sound like that's still a possibility.
Queues can be slow but at this point, it's largely because of a not-insignificant portion of people leave to do anything.
This will almost certainly change during launch.

Putting paid players ahead in queues should have been a thing period. On AFK players they should set it to 45 mins then log people out as a general rule instead of letting people clog servers. Edit: That being said Endwalker was a snowflake because of Covid and WoW being awful. With Dawntrail there is no WoW exodus or pandemic, They also added tons of new worlds and the Oceania data center. I think we will be fine.

As a raider from crystal I have zero choice but to live on aether lol gonna miss my friends. My endwalker experience wasn’t really that bad. I used the queue time to workout lol

my friend and i were playing on the OCE data center the past few days due to the free login campaign. 2am we could not get a PF for some of the patch 2.X trials...if 2am NA time is peak for OCE...im sorry to anyone staying in OCE
When you say patch 2.x trials are talking about ARR content? Cause it's pretty self-explanatory why there's no PFs for that content....

If my memory is not failing, login queues were not mandatory and I remember being annoyed when they changed it. But the little network knowledge that I have reminded me that not having those queues was a really bad design.
Build a wall for Aether.
Aether has the best hunt trains, Primal the most active raiding pfs, Dynamis has the best ghost towns, and Crystal has the best Balamung Quicksands
It's really easy. You just log in at 4:00 am each morning, teach your cat how to hit any button on your keyboard (How do they always manage to hit my Fn + W keys every time?) every five minutes so you don't get logged out and pray that you don't get booted off the server for any reason and you'll be good. Super easy.
If somoen free to play or solos game this great for them but for me its like cool i basically removing one major social aspect of game by not being able talk friends or fc mates in game annnd i lose out on my fc buff fat chance. You need be putting 50m gil as incentive get me use travel to Dynamis or Oceanic

Ha ha me too. Midgrardormr Hunt Train turned into a long visit :). Midgard people were very helpful to us, and SE got us back as soon as they could. Luckily lots of us were stuck so they noticed :).

We banned on joining Light server to actually complete ultimates/savage.
Not really, people on Chaos were raiding fine before data center tavel and you can still find parties rn despite most chaos people going to Light. It just means all the peeps travelling to will now have to make stuff on Chaos. Also this should probably be lifted by savage release
Why? people don't raid on chaos and choose to do endgame content on Light? thats news to me and i've been on Chaos for a while now.
@@jackjohnson8305 It is very much the case, most people hop to light to do trials or savage or ultimate stuff.
It's good news actually, it sucks to be kind of forced to travel to Light to play... And what's funnier is that most of the time the party fully consists of Chaos players... on Light, lol.
The only reason you can't get a PF group going on Chaos is because there's the option to travel to Light, and Light has become the de facto raiding WC on EU. Without the option all of the people who would've gone to Light to look for a group will just be on Chaos - it's going to be perfectly fine.
It shouldn't be as bad with all the visa users not being able to pay for their subs :)
