- When a jazz guitarist is hired to play Metallicas 'Nothing Else Matters' on a wedding things can go very wrong.... but in jazz there are no wrong notes, remember.

Not only funny, but the playing is absolutely phenomenal. Lucas has entered the Jedi level of hep jazzerdom.
What a wonderful interpretation! You remain for me the most briliant and expressive master of classical and modern guitarist!
thank you very much!
@@LucasBrar So unbelievably true, you deserve every eloquent word!

Dear English did you forgot the British humor or you like Rambo?
It’s so cool! It almost sounds sounds like an Opeth song haha
I'll listen the whole album in such amazing arrange

The bride is beautiful
yes, a babe. she doesnt know music tho
the '' you may kiss the bride'' moment killed me !!!
Pretty sure there should be a really cool, sophisticated and hilarious, collab between you and Charles Berthoud! Thank you for the talent and the joy you bring with it!
Wouldn't that be great
Also implayable by 85% of musicians hahahaha (I'd still dig it, tho)
I like how he answers the phone while it still ringing lol
I love how he pats the hat and says shhh to calm it down.
Such a ridiculously talented actor! Simply amazing! Guitar playing's pretty good too! ;)

Pretty good? This is fckin legendary !
@@hatebreeder999 That was a joke :)
@@2fik2ooooo3
*DON'T* ever explain jokes. It destroys the joke, and those guys not getting it is half the fun anyway ;-)
Gosh, this was -unpropositally I hope - a very ironical and malicious comment... So, for you, if this propositally cringe acting is the very best thing he do, you're giving ways to understand that he plays not too well hahaha. I'm just joking
everybody be praising his guitar but none his voice. A man with many talents this kind of stuff is why I subbed.
3:16 is the best. the priest just feeling it for a bit, then shocked
I'm a Metallica fan and I love your way interpreting their songs with brilliance and humor. Great job!
Amazing! Loved the sudden change from 3/4 to 4/4 and back!
PLEASE, don't stop doing these. Your skill and informative humor are incredible. Loved it.
This sounds like an Opeth version of the song, love it
I silently wished for a bit of bossa nova metallica 😇
Can you add salt to porridge? Can you mix cider with lager? Can you wear ripped jeans with a dinner jacket? Can you wallpaper just one wall of a room? Can you paint a beautiful canvass with water colour and oils? Perhaps you can but you have to know how and you have to be brave and you have to do it well. Otherwise it will be an abomination.
Lucas you combine comedy and virtuosity with such seamless eloquence. Nobody could fail to learn something from this brilliant piece.
Man this was fantastic. The way you re made a song we all love was like if you putting 3D glasses on to watch your favourite movie for the first time. It just made it so much better and makes it a whole new experience. Keep it up
Knowing your story the "he's so free" part hit hard
"He seems so free...
I shouldn't have married the b*tch". 😂😂😂
This channel is now reaching absolute excellence
Yes sir !!
That look at the pastor (probably) when playing the Bb tritone was perfection.
Hi, Lucas. I've been playing more then 10 years on acoustic and classic guitar, melodies, fingerstyle and jazz. Last years I've been all into jazz, it's most selfexpressive kind of music, where the good old melody could have different variations and arrangements so you could never been tired of music!
And you ispire me a lot as a jazz musician and a great composer with excellent arrangement skills. I love your accurate and dynamic playing, and crazy solos.

I’m always thrilled when people like you say I’ve inspired them. Happy about that and keep it up!
@@LucasBrar Yeah, man. I see that even so talented musician like your sometimes have creative doubts, and remember from your video about musical way that the joy of first learnt chords is equal to joy of composing a difficult harmonic! I've always relistening your compositions, especcially jazz version of Sunny and Smells like Jazz spirit, when I bake pancakes)
Also your grows beard and mustaches, and a bit long hair on nape, so your style is similar to mine, it gives me more feeling of soulmate! May be I start wear hat like you, it helps play jazz. Also I have classical guitar Manuel Rodrigez with top cedar, and it's timbre I recognize in your guitar, your also have top cedar?
Ahhhh it's finally weekend, and I've been playing since I got home. And when I wasn't playing, I watched German marching music. (Yeah, I know. It's great!) Until I turned on this video. And man, as you might guess, my guitar is my only woman. :')
Solo was totally crazy. Love this vid. Thank you
Well done!!! I was tired of the original versión although it is a good song.. But this time, it makes me want to listen it over and over again.. I like your versión Lucas... You kill it big time buddy... Well done... An impressive arrangement!!!
There is so much „…. But it is jazz“ on this platform and you watch 30 seconds and get on with it.
But then you have mr brar here and I always stay until the end because there is just to much masterminding throughout the entire thing that it would be a shame to skip any of it. Seriously, I love everything you do
That was awesome, as always! You should mess around with their instrumental, "the jazz of Ktulu" or "Jazzyrion" and "To live is to jazz"... you would do some wonders!

@cleemo to live is to jazz 🤣🤣
Absolutely adore your way of displaying the huge knowledge of music theory and incredible practical skills in just one piece,
BUT GOD DAMN,
IT'S "NOTHING ELSE MATTERS"
Just huge respect from me as always!
Love to see your new videos again, keep it up man! :DD

open mind for a different view as they said
I mean, the performance really caught me off guard, like, really, this was one of the best adaptations I heard from you. Didn't listen to this song for many years because I got so tired of it that I could not stand it, yet you made me watch every second of this video with a smile on my face, AND THE ACTING OMG, THATS WHAT I WANT FOR MY WEDDING
This is just Soo different from other guitarist very brilliant
the reverberation when the priest talks is the most accurately hilarious part of this🤣🤣
Oh my, I really liked that solo interpretation!
I just have to say you have such a phenomenal singing voice. The guitar playing is obviously amazing, but your singing is always pitch perfect and leaves me wanting to hear more.
oh my the subtle hint to "music-for-hire" tragicomical life, this wins an oscar in 5 categories in my opinion:
Best script.
Best non-fiction cinematography.
Best cover song interpretation.
Best anachronistic wedding cover song choice.
and finally: Best use of breaking the forth wall, ever.
Bravo.
After 21 years, it seems to be about time to renew our vows. Can you come to New Zealand? We can promise wine with the leftovers.
Absolutely awesome…. Quality playing and humour… I hope your family are very proud of you :-)
Such an emotionnal play ! You're so talented man. Like those "jazz" vidz ❤
This deserves to be viewed millions of times
Love it. Not only guitar playing but little story is point on. "We can't pay you".
Loved this solo, it's so good
That was hilarious and thoroughly musically entertaining as well. Thank you so much for all your time and effort
Those quick changes is so funny and amazing!!!!
Never before have I seen a comedy sketch with such awesome background music!
Lucas u are a genius ❤️🎶
Amazing! Loved every second. Well done!
The minister just groovin in the bg 🤣🔥🔥
OMG that's BEAUTIFUL!!! You are a f-ing magician. How you harmonize the melody...I so wish more people could do that!!!
amazing skills and composition man, subbed. You are a well developed musician who surely put in the thousands of hours
Genial! Pacote artístico completo. Arranjo, execução e o contexto irreverente
My mate, you are a genius… thanks to CZcams for providing a platform where you can express your passion, let us enjoy it while ensuring that you are rewarded for it. You deserve bigger success and much more, here’s to that and cheers fam 💙
Bravo Bravo !!!! Just brilliant arrangement, amazing performance, and the comedy is just hilarious!!!!
What a fantastic rendition! The priest got really into it at some point, whereas the bride was like "You're ruining my wedding, you son of a B**ch!". Great playing as always. Thank you for the sweet music and your fun, enjoyable videos, Lucas! 🧡👏👏👏
Great stuff you played. In the states wedding cakes are usually pretty bad. You could use the frosting for glue. If you play jazz you should be quite used to not getting paid!

Oh Lucas. These clips are just hilarious. Kudos to you man
The wink at the end sold it for me.
Nothing but JAZZ
INSANE MAN. I love it
absolutely all that music should be about -humour,freedom and innovation-put that in the doggybag!great playing as always!
The fact that you can sing and also have your sense of humor makes you a more rounded performer in my book.
You get to accompany yourself and play characters.
I wish you great success and discovery.
I had that learnt it, 200 times i have listened this jazz variation, Soooo cool, a killer variation song, killer!!!!
i always enjoy lucas's vids but whats odd is that most players i consume, i never think, "i would love to hang out with that guy at a bar and play some darts". but for some reason lucas seems like a great friend to have lol. if that makes sense. 🙂

an improvised jam with you and Yamandu Costa would be awesome! I cant' imagine how beautiful could be the blending of your styles!
Omfg this incredible! I wasnt sure till now, i was unsure about jazz and then i realized this is a completely dif style its just solo jazz and it sounds so good
Fantastic as always thank you Lucas best wishes and good health from Glasgow 🎸👍❤️

Muito foda!!!!! Hahahahah Humor, técnica e musicalidade sensacionais!!!
I love this so much !!! Lost it when when the tritone hit 🤣🤣🤣♥️♥️♥️
Major chord made it sound happy… i need this
It’s ironic that there are so many good players like you today getting exposure on YT and simultaneously fewer people in the general public adequately informed in theory who can appreciate your brilliance
Where is your proof on the silly theory line? Not true, and statistically provable... if you do the work.
I NEED THIS IN SPOTIFY NOOOOW OMG THIS IS SOOOOOOO GOOOOOD
Dude you are A GENIUS!
Absolutely monstrous rendition.
Love your work.
as a metal guy this kinda made my brain hurt...it was pain, it was weird, it was hilarious, it was...just wow...😳🍻
I think he deserves some of that cake after this
I was expecting a mockery, but that was beautiful.
Watching his fingers move over the strings is so satisfying.
I love U Lucas😍tupidupidapidoo
how to make a statement of how poorly paid musicians really are (and the disrespect too!)
It's nice to see a "crossover" like this done with some effort.
Omg this is the best music channel ever. Been following for a long time now and hopefully can continue to follow this an even longer time !:D
Llegué segundo mirá vos
Pure genius! Loved the editing, premise, and of course the performance as well.
Way back in the day I had a rock band and we were auditioning lead guitarists. A guy came in and from the first lead break in the audition song he broke out into some absolutely awesome jazz guitar. It was beautiful but you couldn't rock with it so he wasn't chosen. He was a great guy and understood it all completely. As we sat around later smoking a j and talking, he revealed he'd learned guitar from a jazz player of the time named Jerry Hahn. He was very well respected in the regional guitar scene and had a band called the Jerry Hahn Brotherhood which had at least one released album. (Mike Finnegan was also a member) I never heard it as I was a young rocker but, if the audition was any indication, he was a fine jazz guitarist. (Mr. Hahn, I found out later, played with Gary Burton, the 5th Dimension, and Paul Simon)
Love the Lydian mode ending cool
everyone of your videos are so well made, the perfect balance of humor and insane talent at playing and composing these covers, truly inspiring
I only come back to YT for things like this - wonderful, and funny. Yeah, Lydian is cool - like the Phrygian 4# at the end!
Especially loved those major
I went down a chet Atkins rabbit hole and ended up here. And I couldn't be happier. That was freaking awesome! Wonderful arrangement.
This one should have millions of views!!
"Nothing but jazz matters..." Hahaha, love it!!!
👏👏👏👏 a perfect combination of humor, storytelling and musical arrangement and performance!
Amazing playing, amazing arrangement and interpretation, and funny video and captions. The only thing missing is a reaction from Metallica. Great video.
PURE GENIUS!
I sincerely hope the band get to see this. That's outstanding musically and comically👏 🤣🤣
I laughed my ass out. Thanks Lucas. Very talented by the way
"Gotta' 2-5-1", very funny- yea this has happened (maybe not at a wedding), but yes. Excellent.
sadly my english skills are not enough to explain how great this is.
both musically and comedically
been watching your videos for a long time, but this made you a new sub
Such a wonderful arrangement… enough jazz to not loose the rock aspect of the song but still not a rock song anymore …. loved it
Bro. That shit was awesome. I need to learn more about modulation to understand what keys you were in, but man. You rock!
The commentary text is getting on a new level of mastery. The guitar ain’t bad either. 😁
