Strolling Through Some SoCal Powder | Alto Diablo Splitboarding in San Gorgonio Wilderness

The powder turns to slush pretty quickly in the Southern California backcountry, but my touring friend and I were able to get just a few nice turns in after the big February storms. The San Gorgonio Wilderness offers quite a few awesome objectives, and with our early season fitness we chose to do Alto Diablo, the shortest approach and most mellow terrain. Up high in the trees we got some really nice fluffy turns before crossing over some wind-stripped hills and eventually back to a wet and heavy fire road back to the car.
