  • 🇳🇴 AURORA - Life On Mars | REACTION & REVIEW
Once again Aurora never fails to please, with a chilling and somewhat lullaby feeling to her re-interpretation of the famous Bowie song. She continues to show her ridiculous vocals acrobats with perfect pitch and feeling.

Aurora could sing the phone book because let’s be honest she would even make that sound amazing.she is simply a Genius I have seen her live twice now and she is without doubt the best live performer I’ve ever seen, live she becomes a vessel that’s channeling her musical poetry to your soul and we are so blessed to have her music in our lives.❤️💚🧡💙💛

Aurora once said the reason for her to make music is because she loves silence. It is not the tones and notes, but the silence in between. So where nothing can be heard, she feels the most.
I've never heard anything like it before, but it absolutely suits her. She is an introvert, loves the forest and songwriting and painting. All things where silence reigns. Singing and everything that comes after writing is more of a necessity, only secondary.

It's an art, she did the same with Teardrop. Only play the necessary tones to be able to follow the melody, focus on the singing. The brain does the rest :-)

What I love about her cover of Life on Mars......is that I've always liked the song, the original Bowie song.
But I never had a clue what it was about. The lyrics never made much sense to me.
Until.....I heard Aurora cover it. Somehow she conveyed the MEANING of the song in a way I'd never gotten before.
That's a good cover.....if it can do that!

How I think she does it?! She is a person who has feelings for every single thing. She’s connected on another level to everything. She truly cares and loves with her whole heart, mind, body, and soul. She radiates that and shares it with all of us. I often say she gives us a glimpse into another dimension. I absolutely adore Bowie. Her cover of this fantastic song is a wonderful tribute. She makes it her own.

Aurora found a broken keyboard in her attic age 6. She taught her self to play with one hand because the power switch was broken and she had to hold it down with one hand. She never took lessons and does not read music. It is all by ear.

Aurora does not sing a song, she IS the song. So many times you see her coming back into our world at the end of it.
I grew up with the original but never really listened to, or understood, the lyrics until I herd this on CZcams. I only wish I had bought shares in Bowater-Scott before finding her.

"Queendom" music video is a treat for both eyes and ears and you have opportunity to ser her dance as well, plus the video is masterfully directed and choreographed. Her lyrics for the song are relevant and beatiful. She embraces people that are different and struggle to "fit the mold" in society. She is about exeptence and love, building a queendom where all the underdogs can feel at home. (Btw. Aurora fans call themselves "warriors and wierdos") Looking forward to "Lucky from Nidarosdomen"

She totally remade that song. I wonder if Iman has heard it? She is one of the few amazing artists that people really LISTEN to her words. Notice her audiences. It’s almost like they’re transfixed by her and they’re either swaying, singing along with her, or doing hand movements as if they’re communicating back at her. When she finishes, then they go crazy with the emotions and the wild hoopla. She’s simply mesmerising. One of the best I’ve ever heard and if she keeps writing like she does, and I see no reasons why not, she will get up there with the greats. Her music is that unique. I try to pick my top five and I’m constantly changing. Anyone else with that problem ?😄

She learnt piano on her sisters old electric keyboard, from about the age of six. So the story goes it had a faulty power switch so she started of with one hand using the other to hold the switch on. She is very modest about her playing ability and prefers to perform with a band member playing. But she writes her music on the piano.
I think she also has a harp. But I've not seen her perform with one.
I think her interest is in percussion and she often collects natural sounds on a portable recorder to be played on pads.
This piano is a Rhodes electric piano and they have this signature warm sound. You hear it often with Stevie Wonder.

Aurora can make a story out of a song, any song and that makes her so unique and good, plus that vocal is just so mesmerising and beautiful. So very folky (if there's ever a word) pauses a lot to take a breath in order to hit and hold a note, kind of dragging it low or powerfully high. A very good technique actually. A Style I can imitate. 😀

Regarding the keyboard, I believe I read somewhere that she taught herself to play starting around age six.

I love how she change all covers into her music and I love it no matter if it is her original song or cover. She is a true artist and she is a music:).
Love Lucky performance (hopw it will be from Nidarosdomen :) ). Waiting for it.
