    Really interesting! Hacks for disk brakes maybe?

      Thanks so much Gerasimos! I may do a similar video for disk brakes in the future but there are no many things that you can actually do compared to the amount of tricks you can to to make the hydraulic rim brakes a bit better!

    Great explanations bud.
    Monty use to do an aerosol version similar to the rosin tablet in the 90's.

      Thank you my friend! Glad you liked it! I didn't know about the Monty spray, but I looked it up and it seems that it is similar to the liquid rosin solution that I apply with the marker and is mentioned in the video. Probably the canned spray solution has a quite faster evaporation time than the liquid one but I bet that you can be more targeted and neat when you apply the dissolved rosin using the marker instead of the sprayed application that will probably contaminate the nearby parts with rosin!

      @@AlexandrosSiasosyeah, I prefer your idea.
      The Monty stuff worked great but left and nasty mess on your tire and rim.

      @@aaron.biketrials Thanks again dude! Yeah, the marker makes the difference! Also it lasts way too long as it applies as much resin as you need exactly on the braking surfaces of the rims! It's like the rosin block I sent you but a bit stronger!

    Great job. I didn't get how rozin works. Maybe explain that a little and how to rework maintain the rims once you apply it a few times

      Applying rosin to the rims creates a thin sticky layer on the braking surface that increases dramatically the friction between the rim and the brake pads! After a while this layer wears off due to the abrasive action during the braking and thus you have to reapply a bit of rosin on the rim. I usually apply rosin once or twice every time I train depending on the duration and the terrain of my training session of course.

      Do you need to wash the old one out before applying a new coating?

    • @AlexandrosSiasos
      @AlexandrosSiasos  Před rokem

      @@JohnathanIplik no, you just apply a new layer of rosin every time the old one wears off
