Central Park, the nation’s first great municipal park, is the shining monument of New York City. It is where residents go to walk or jog, touch nature, and get a fresh breath of air. Without Central Park, life in the nation’s biggest city would be pure hustle and bustle, unhealthy, and plagued by air and noise pollution.
It’s difficult to imagine a progressive city evicting a well-established minority community after arbitrarily paying its residents for their possessions. But that's how Central Park was made, with most newspapers cheering the removal of what they called ''the insects.''

So much has been taken from us. It’s all coming to the light.
This happened all over america & we dnt deserve reparations ?
Should the descendants of the Irish immigrants who lived in Seneca Village also receive reparations? They were also displaced 🤔
The 1st Black Wall Street.
A Great Chapter in History I did not know about. Thank you.
You may also want to do a video on Historic Weeksville Village in Brooklyn NY. Preserved village of homes of freed African Americans. There is also a descendent of Seneca Village, in which I viewed a video about her.
Interesting. And off topic but I know an Omar Smith in Houston, the irony
Thank you for sharing your comment🙏..I never heard anything about Weeksville, Brooklyn...and realize there are many many more communities that has been destroyed .I'm going to research it now..Thanks again🙏take care...
