  • I have reviewed a few Submariner homages, but I’ve never handled a Pagani before. At long last, I have one in my hands. I’ve always wondered if they’re actually any good, as they pack a massive punch for an incredible price.
So then, let’s take a look. Are they really that good? Let’s find out.

I used to hate homage watches. However, in recent years, I have changed my opinions of them, especially on Pagani Design. Its kind of like a slap on the face and a wake up call for myself on the real values of Rolex watches. If a Chinese company can make such good quality watches with sapphire and ceramic bezel at such a low price, you will know how overpriced it is for genuine Rolex. I think Pagani is on a mission here. 👍👍👍

I agree, and to be honest, the real reason why “Rolex” charges so much for their watches isn’t necessarily for the Quality, even though the quality of their watches is amazing (and it better be if they are charging $$$$$) but most people who purchase Rolexes and who are impressed with those watches are probably buying them for the “Rolex” name. They’ve done a better job marketing the watch than they did making it haha

Hello from the States! VERY proper review! I have 5 Pagani Rolex & Omega homage watches and they’re simply wonderful. 3 years on and the movements are perfect, quality still holds up, and the only thing I changed was one oyster bracelet (due to the clasp being a bit sharp on the edges).

Nice review. I have about 8 Pagani Design watches now. Various homages and I've enjoyed every single one of them. For me they are conversation starters, watch people will stop me and tell me how nice it appears, they are always stunned when I tell them the prices and features of these things. I just ordered this GMT homage in full black with jubilee bracelet for a steal of $59 Canadian dollars. Can't wait to wear it! Simply put, these homages by Pagani Design have qualities that even the purest of watch enthusiasts can respect.

I have had one of these for 5 months now (feels like I have had it longer, which is a good thing!). First of all, I loved your review. I am just adding more context since, like you said, the QA on these can be hit or miss.
From my experience, the bezel doesn't have any wobble in it, though I don't have experience with many expensive watches. I know the bezels were improved about 6 months ago so it is possible you got an older one. The bezel is 120 click which I think is superior to the bezel on the 24 click bezel on the Rolex since it allows you to use the bezel for timing like the Submariner or tracking time zones like the GMT Master.
I actually didn't even bother with the lume when I first got it since I had read so many times that it was terrible. However, I have noticed in the last couple months that I can read it just fine at night after wearing it all day. This is without doing anything special to charge it and after sitting at my desk job all day. It may be kind of faint, but I have grown to trust that I can read it in my bleary eyed stupor when I wake up in the middle of the night.
The movement in my watch is usually between 5-9 seconds slow every day when wearing it, but 4 seconds fast when face up on my desk. All of those times are per day. I have stopped checking the time very often and grown to trust that it will be within a minute or so during the week. (The date was a day behind this morning since we just had a 30 day month and the watch has 31 days on the day wheel, but that is my fault and a problem that even a Rolex GMT Master II would have had.)
I hate the cyclops. Again, I don't have a lot of experience with genuine Rolex watches with a cyclops, but this one makes the minutes from 13 to 17 just about useless. I haven't gotten up the courage to remove it yet, but I am tempted.
Since I bought this watch in June it has been my daily driver, my favorite watch. It has replaced my Casio and Timex watches. I am rarely without this watch and I am looking at other Pagani Design watches for my next purchase.

Love my Pagani Design. I am pretty sure my GMT was less than $150. Tremendous bang for the buck and made me reevaluate the 'logic' of spending over $500 or $600 on a watch. If pure accuracy is the goal, then a phone or $100 quartz movement is the answer. As far as 'craftsmanship', I think people would be surprised to see the quantity of cheap plastic components inside of their multi thousand dollar watches.
Have also noticed that almost universally, my least expensive watches are the most difficult to scratch, whether that be the case or bracelet. Have a 15 year old Timex quartz that was an 18 hour/day daily........for about 5 years. Sat in my dusty garage for 4 years, and I am confident that if I replace the battery, will continue to run like a German sewing machine.
It took me far too long to realize that the watches I wear most often and that spark the most joy for me, are overwhelmingly my least expensive. Not to type that I would, "never" buy another 'expensive' watch, but it would have to be something that REALLY knocked my socks off and I don't want to pay through the nose simply because of a company's marketing budget and choice of 'brand ambassador'.

I bought a couple Paganis and a Bliger off of Ali Express, thinking it would be a good way to test a few styles and sizes before “investing” in a Rolex. These homage watches are effing amazing for their price point. I’ll probably keep my year 2000 Omega Seamaster and my 2020 Grand Seiko as my “best watches”, and wear these when I crave a change. Three watches from Ali Express cost me $250 US and probably saved me $15 to $20 thousand by killing the urge to upgrade my collection.

I own a few "entry level" Swiss made watches from Hamilton, Tudor and Montblanc and I love them all. But I have also recetly purchased a couple of Pagani Design watches and love them too. If you're going to buy a Homage watch I think there should be a justified reason. For example, I bought a "rose gold" PD1651, simply because I can't afford an Oysterflex Yachtmaster. I also bought a PD1671, because although I already own a Tudor Black Bay, I like that the Pagani option gives me the look of my Black Bay but with the addition of the date function. Swiss watches will always be "nicer" and a bit more special. But these look great, tell the time and serve a purpose. I am also a lot less precious about them and don't mind wearing them is situations where I would be more nervous wearing a more expensive Swiss option.

Then, someone was selling a Pagani Design version of it (as if the opportunity fell out of the sky for me from God) ... and I bought it (had to pay in full, but negotiated with partial payments).
I somehow feel.. "satisfied" with it and that hunger in my heart for that grail has ceased. Others may disagree, but then.... who cares? Im happy 😊

I wouldn’t mind paying Rolex retail, I object to how the internet and scalpers savage markets and inflate things to stratospheric prices, with certain YT watch snobs circle-jerking themselves into smug oblivion. So, guess what, I now smile when I see watches like Pagani. I think I’m going to buy every one. I must declare though, that I am fortunate to have reached an age where I couldn’t care less what someone else thinks of anything I do, or what watch I choose to wear. I am not embarrassed at all in the Paddock when I climb out of my Porsche wearing my Pagani Paul Newman homage.

Seriously, purchasing branded watches is because of personal ego. I stop spending on luxury watches. I only keep a few in my collections. I start buying microbrand and homage. NH35 is a reliable movement. This movement is as good as the swiss movement SW200 or Sw200-1. These watches come with sapphire crystal and excellent lume (C3). Also, they are very cost-effective.

I've had my Coke version GMT for almost a year. ZERO problems. Top three favorite watches. I own Rolex and Omegas and this is the one I sleep with and swim with and I did remove the bracelet (the buckle had sharp edges) and I went for silicone red strap. ZERO PLAY with the bezel, perfect alignment on bezel and on cyclops, and NO noisy rotor. I got lucky I guess. I'm ordering your batman one because that comes with the ceramic bezel while the coke version is only in aluminium (where there is red, there is no ceramic).

    Hello,
I'm having an issue with my Pagani watch, and I hope someone can help me. When I set the date, for example, to Thursday the 14th, it never changes, even after midnight passes.
I initially thought it was a manufacturing problem, but I tried it on a second watch and the same thing happened... I must be doing something wrong, but I don't understand what.
Just to note, I do set the day and date when the time is set to 6:30 AM, as advised in some videos.
Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing the issue? Thanks.

I had both the Parnis version and the pagani, the case and bezel were nicer on the parnis but the movement better on the Pagani. So i made a watch with the best of both, case and strap from parnis and movement from Pagani. Now heres the kicker, my watch runs after dialing it in on the timegrapher at 0 seconds a day dial up, its smooth as silk on wirist its losing 10 seconds a week, i have my poljot 3133 watches dialed in similar, and a couple of vintage seikos, but most other watches even swiss are way of the accuracy of my parnis/ Pagani watch.

I don't want to "get the call" on a watch I wasn't even sure of buying or not. I can just get some Paganis and get a feel for them, then put them in a charity bin when done.

I bought some Pagani homage watches mainly as conversation pieces. I will never pay for a real Submariner, Speedmaster or god forbid a Daytona. But I enjoy having these homages and will immediately tell anyone that asks that it is a Chinese homage watch and then start talking about the real thing often times educating a non-watch person about some of the more iconic watches and chronographs. I have them along with some other homages in a display case in my office which also spurs conversation. Maybe I will graduate to buying more expensive and more respected less copy-cat homages, but the irony is as much as I like learning about watches, I am not much of an everyday watch wearer.

I have never been a big fan of homage watches I just think it’s lazy and unoriginal but I absolutely believe they are a great way to experience a watch you might not ever be able to otherwise I have also found they serve a purpose in taking a watch for a test run you might not be able to otherwise I have zero boutiques around to try on any watches I might be Interested but if they are JDM models that still would t help of I did so almost every watch in my collection when I unbox it like many it’s the first time I actually get to feel and see that watch so instead of diving right into a $4k purchase or more I will buy a homage of the same watch to get a feel for the size and how it looks on the wrist I’ve done this with San Martin who have excellent lume btw no other Chinese brand comes close so I bought the sla017 homage before buying the real deal and more recently I bought a GS SBGA homage before deciding to buy the real thing as well then just gave my homages to my little brother who’s also getting into watches. And My most recent interest is the new hi beat GS diver or spring drive in a similar case so I just bought a pagani 1680 for $120 and I have to say it’s absolutely impressive what they can do for less than the cost of a single link for my GS I’m sure they’ve got their own QC issues but I must have got a good one it’s unbelievable for what you get Screw links, a solid nicely finished tapering bracelet down to a fully milled sign clasp, a nice decorative case back, a signed screw down crown with pleasant action and threading, a solid 120 click bezel with a smooth light action and little back play and no lateral movement and a nicely etched ceramic insert with raised lume pip, and a bullet proof nh35 under a coated sapphire crystal it’s hard to believe they can make such a spec monsters for so little especially considering how much a brand like Seiko would charge to make a watch with the exact same specifications and materials before the recent “king” prospex models if you only wanted a sapphire crystal with ceramic and a signed crown those only come on watches north of $1k and I’ve even had bezel or chapter ring alignment issues with those watches. so any minor knit picks like lack of lume or maybe some coarse edges in my eyes are well negated by the price if they are bad enough you can always exchange them.

  • @thenaijatimewatcher7830

I will be honest at first I was also tranced by the rolex effect and thinking its the only best watch brand there is, which is really stupid and people who got no idea and money say this. My brother was quite wealthy and he never was interested in buying a rolex, he only got one as a gift from his wife. Even my brother the man himself who could afford it didnt want to spend that money and that stuck to my head. Since then I have decided to purchase the Davosa gmt sprite, the quality and the craftmanship of the Davosa Watch really got me thinking if a 16k Euro watch is worth it and it made me realize I was a fan because of the design and not the Brand so wear whatever you like just be authentic and dont start pretending you got it when it reality you dont. So in my opinion your purchase is justified dont let any else talk you down about saying it aint a rolex or etc when they dont even have money to get one.
