Watching Vinnie is watching someone who paid the price to develop their talents to super-human levels. He's a great reminder to focus our lives on where our talents lie, and never stop working on them.
I luv vinnie but there's no need 2 look pissed, ur an inspiration 2 many a drummer, this vid has 100+k views thanx 2 this person filming u, b appreciative
There's no rational explanation for narcissitic personality disorder, which Vinnie most definitely suffers from (aside from being a very talented drummer).
Vinnie is very angry here. In the early 2000's I saw him kicking out a guy of The Baked Potato (in LA) for filming an entire song with a digital camera
@@LHondrums He almost sat in on my gig in Toronto....He said he would, but he was too in demand to hang with some Toronto producers....He was here playing with Sting. I think it was before 10 Summoners Tales
Vinny is over the normal idea of to be a great drummer... he's beyond this. But I would like to hear a reinterpretation of this classic with some other big of the drum such, Simon Phillips, Gavin Harrison, Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers and many others. I wonder how it would be.
I suppose when a person is so high above it's easy to get annoyed with the average human. In the world of amazing drummers, there's Vinnie and then there's everyone else.
Where's the rest of it? There use to be a longer version of this where pissed off Vinnie plays the sickest fill going into the last chorus. What happened to that??
I saw another clip where Vinnie was in the studio and didn't know he was being filmed. At the end of the song he looks up realizing he was being filmed and did not look happy about it.
I don't get the hostility. Anybody has a right to be annoyed but the guy is right: no difference between an audience member watching and a camera watching him for a purely logistical standpoint. Legally, the person who filmed it didn't have a right to record it. I doubt Vinnie was sitting there going 'audio/image rights plus benefits...', though.
the explanation is in his look a 1:44. he's not a freak. imagine a concert where y don't see musicians ? you would rather pay a lot more attention to the music, and not filming to have a souvenir of the concert that you ddin't even listened coz u were to busy filming.
The difference is that ‘just watching’ a live gig doesn’t result in someone uploading a video of your art (which you may not wish to be widely disseminated or viewed after the moment it was delivered) to a global platform which doesn’t benefit you in tangible ways. A ticket to watch a live show is precisely that. It’s the prerogative of an artist to not want that performance to be made available to everyone anywhere after the show.
I think because its exploitative so often. because the streamer records the from the audience and makes money while the artists works their tale off get nothing. its not like hes benefiting from being more popular. i think thats it. if people were paying for music i think hed have less of a problem. but its been a chain reaction that has utterly disrupted a formerly gainful industry. ive heard him talk about this. its why we dont have bands that stick around for long periods. its the fans and industries' fault. oh, good camera people document and subjects dont even know it or are aware. so they coulda been less obvious.
Ya I've read a few of those but can't remember why? I mean I can relate but I wonder what his reasons are. Do you know why? He must know he's super fun to watch.
dale w. miller Needs to get out of the entertainment industry. His behaviour. You’d make an a grade a hole manager who enjoys firing people. Learn an instrument and get good.
he's having a bad at the office, he does this day in day out, bound to be pissed off at times, thats all i think it is, and then you have someone staring at you intently with another camera, but, goes with the territory i spose, I would have stopped filming personally, but each to their own. I've met Vinnie for a short chat, seen him live a few times, my fav drummer living or dead.
Google Sucks I think Vinnie has a bit of a temper, there’s a letterman Sting gig where he’s looks pretty pissed off, pretty sure it’s towards the monitor guy
Dean Wuksta No!!! He was pissed at Anton Fig who is the Letterman show drummer!! He was playing along with Vinnie while Sting was a guest on the show!!!!!
I agree with the comment of 'Macaranas'! The 'punk' holding the camera is trespassing the border of Vinnie's territory! If DCI music was doin' this kind of filming, it would be in order!
hey Vinnie, welcome to the youtube generation where those who are blessed with world class talent must occasionally endure adoring fans videotaping you. boo hoo, what burden. Get over it, and maybe try giving back with a clinic or instructional video every now and then
jazzlive Vinnie's done a lot of clinics during his career. He doesn't want to do clinics anymore. He hates being filmed because he is of the mindset that aspiring drummers should try to develop their own sound instead of just copying/covering what he or his fellow compatriots can perform.
If vinnie was marco minneman he'd b smiling from ear 2 ear, vinnie the drumming worlds moved on and ur old school now, there r far better players out there and they're more fun, friendly and helpful, weckl destroys u, minneman destroys u, donati destroys u and he's usin 1 arm and 1 leg lol, doesn't hurt 2 b nice, in a position like urs I'd have been doin some even more crazy shit makin us viewers do a holy shoot I need 2 practice more thing
He's not annoyed, he's clowning for the camera. He has an intense, not an irritated look. The man is filmed almost every day of his life, but he's irritated at you? How long has he been doing this? He's a performer. Filming is part of the job. Sting certainly wouldn't appreciate a musician employed by him getting upset at a fan for this either. I think its just the power of suggestion at work here. Vinnie's generally not psychotic, and he has no reason to be irritated, so he's fine. Vinnie loves us all.
Raphael Johnson Believe me, Vinnie here is way more than irritated, 100% not happy with the filming him instead of just enjoying the concert and be really in the moment.
I think he absolutely hates the person filming him straight on, It's annoying the hell out of him, you can see he doesn't know where to look If a person is recording him from an angle, he's not bothered, this camera angle is planted right in his field of vision
He doesn’t seem appreciative of his fans that maybe want to simply learn from him. Probably the most eclectic & amazing drummer out there, but he’s acting very poorly here.
Everyone thinks Vinnie is smiling and joking in this video. He's not. He furious and highly irritated. He's been very open about despising the idea of people recording at live shows and posting online. He believes you go to a concert or a show to watch/listen and enjoy the LIVE performance, not sit there and watch it through a tiny ass phone screen. Then, he, and SOME artists also feel that when you record them at a show and put in on CZcams, you're essentially stealing from them, or at least profiting off THEIR performance. Imagine if you did something, someone recorded you without your consent, and then you found out they were making money from it. The legal side of things is a different story. Some will say, "I paid for the ticket to the show so that gives me the right to record." It's really more of an issue with older artists. Performers and artists who have grown up during the internet and social media boom don't think twice about being recorded and videotaped.
And he's like totally playing the craziest, choppiest stuff while not even blinking. I'll never see another drummer like Vinnie in my lifetime.
Vinnie is the only drummer who can smile in 7/8 but play in 5/8...
5/4 actually 😎
@@raulpenaranda1077 I have had this argument several times lol. I agree... 5/4.
Nice!
2021.
I am sure he can play in 13/17!
Probably my favorite video on YT. Thanks for taking that hit for us.
This is so awesome! As a drummer who has similar antics I can really appreciate the humor. Go Master Vinnie!
Hes super pissed. Not smiling and joking around. He thinks the whole videoing at live concerts thing is bullshit.
Watching Vinnie is watching someone who paid the price to develop their talents to super-human levels. He's a great reminder to focus our lives on where our talents lie, and never stop working on them.
Everything Vinnie touches is termed instantly into gold 🥇
Fields of gold…?
wow, he's playing the coolest , most intricate beats, all while having beef with camera man lol

Looks like Vinnie would murder you in time for his tea
He has actually threatened to murder people who have filmed him. He's one of the biggest assholes in the music industry, and that's saying something.
Mi baterista favorito... Vinie Colaiuta el mejor del mundo..!!
Gets annoyed and doesn't miss a beat!

ya, giving a serious death stare... not feelin' it... kinda freaked me out lol He still rocks the planet!!!
I met him backstage and he told his Bodyguard to step away and let me take a photo with him
When he looks at you like that, your options are decreasing mostly rapidly!
Your shrinking lol.... I have met Vinnie with his close friend Vito Rezza....Vinnie is a true sweet heart! He's a really happy person!

fair play to the bloke with the camera for not bottling it, many would of.
I love Vinnie and actually took a disposable camera to a sting concert many years ago only to have it taken away. Now I know why lol
Awesome, Vinnie right at the camera, like a personal show.
Magico Vincenzo!!!
Vinnie should do more of this comedy drumming! It is so delicious!
what the hell is you problem vinnie? jesus... And you 're such a great drummer

Yeah that video had more views as well.. I am curious as well
As well am I, as well.

Sting managing to improve his drummer from Stuart Copeland to vinnie is mental 😂😂
yeah theres been interviews and he says he hates getting filmed by people
Then he needs to get out of the entertainment industry. As talented as and inspirational Vinnie is, his behavior here does not put him in good light.
