God Looked down from heaven and saw that it was full of drummers, guitar players, piano players, and organists playing bass with there left hand and foot. God said that it is note good for them to be alone. God put out a dinner table and feed all the musicians ribs, chicken, mashed potatoes, and gravey with red kool aid and caused and deep sleep to fall on all the musicians. This was known are the first Itis. He saw that the earth was full of high frequencies and void of funk and groove with low notes. Then God said let us make make a bass player in our image. Where were you oh guitar player when I laid the first foundation of the earth. Then God said to Joel Smith, put down your Guitar, your standing on Holy Ground. Then God handed Joel an MTD Bass and wrote on a tablet the 10 Commandments of Bass 1. "Thou shall play the low notes" 2. Thou shall make it "Make it Funky" 3. Thou shall play the root note of every chord. 4. Thou shall have perfect time. 5. Thou shall have great tone. 6. Thou shall play 1 - 5 mostly. 7. Thou shall play a nice lick every now and then, but note to much. Your still the bass player. 8. Thou shall Lock in with the Drummer. 9. Thou shall go unplug the organ and keyboard if they start playing the bass with their left hand. 10. Thou Shall be humble and stay in the pocket. Then God Placed Joel in the Bass Section of Eden. Joel looked around and saw Ken Smith, Alembic, MTD, Fender, Fodera, Musicman, Padula, F Bass, and other bassed too. God gave him a bass endoorsment and said "thou play freely play any bass n the Bass Guitar Section of the Garden. Every day God would meet with God for a bass lesson. God Said to Joel "Remind other bass players to stay in the pocket. For in the day that they jump out, the groove shall surely die. God then said to Joel, my groove will not strive with bass players always. Then a guitar player came to the bass section and begin to play high and fast. He said God didn't really mean it when he said play low. The grove will note die if you play high and fast. Then the bass player put piccolo strings on the bass and begin to play fast and high. Then God looked down and said at Stanley Clarke, Where are you, Then Stanley replied, it was this guitar player you gave me. He taunted me and called me slow. He said that God just created bass because they were to slow to play guitar. Then God caused Emnity between the guitar player and the bass player. This Day Guitar players added and low B to there guitar and walk high bass lines. Bass players add higher strings and play chords, melodies, and rhythm lines. While Joel was gone talking to God, Bass Players Begin to multiply on the face of the earth. The Bass got deeper and deeper. Bass Players begin to add a low B, Then, Low F#. Then they begin to down tune. They begin to go higher. All the bass players joined together and created a 9 string bass and begin too play higher and higher and use distortion, and chorus, and flange, and stereo delay. They God caused a great confusion among the bass players. He stuck sheet music and chord charts in front of them. All the bass players got lost and couldn't play. They stopped playing a dispersed. They call that the tower of sight reading. Then Joel went back to church and saw all the bass players had 7, 8, 9, and 10 string basses. They were double thumbing, triple plucking, hitting false harmonics, double tapping, and quoting Jaco's bass version of Donna Lee, all during the morning worship and congregational songs. Then God caused a great flood and all the basses got ruined. Then God told Joel to get on the Boat made out of Fender Four Strings and one MTD Six String in this video. And all the bass players got on the boat and where saved. When they reached dry land, they all dismantled the boat and each of them took a fender four string. Then Jesus Said to Joel, Jesus: Joel Smith Joel Smith: Yes Jesus Jesus: Do you love Me Joel Smith: Yes Jesus Jesus: Joel Smith Joel Smith: Yes Jesus Jesus: Do you love Me Joel Smith: Yes Jesus Jesus: Joel Smith Joel Smith: Yes Jesus Jesus: Do you love Me Joel Smith: Yes Jesus Jesus: Then Teach My Bass Players to Groove. Now go to the upper room and practice until the Holy Ghost comes. I will send the Holy Spirit and he will teach you all things. He will give you Grooves, Lines, Funk, Musical Runs that complement the music. He will make it funky. Jesus had begun his music ministry. He went to the temple and saw that they were selling fried chicken dinners, CD's, First Lady Hats, and Preacher Suits. He Got out a leather belt and begin to whip everybody and saying Whip - Didn't, Whip-I, Whip-Tell, Whip-you...... (lol sorry could't resist) He walked in and saw that once again all the churches only had an organist and drummer. So Jesus called Joel Smith, and said, My house will be a house of groove once again. Then, Jesus commanded Joel to go into all the nations and Groove. Called Marice Fitzgerold, Andrew Gouche, and Jaco. While they were walking Jesus saw a bass guitar laying on the side of the road with no owner. He cursed the bass. The next day, all the bass players got together with Jesus and saw that the bass had no frets. Then Jaco asked Jesus why he cursed the bass. Jesus answered Jaco saying, it is written, "Fret Not"... (lol, sorry could't resist another one) Before Joel was James Jamerson. James asked Joel what do you want. Joel said a double portion of your bass skills. James said if you are there when I God takes me, My fender will go with me but a MTD six string will come down in its place. Then James was caught up in the air and Joel received his 6 string MTD Bass. Then he begin to sit down and perform miracles with his bass. Grooves begin to move flow every where. Th blind begin to hear and def begin to see....(you know what i mean...inty how....lol) Jesus made one final appearance to Joel before ascending into heaven.
