If you're a broke student, get a fairphone. Go used if you want, just know the 5 will get updates for a few years longer and is slightly better overall. You will drop quite a bit of money on the 5 (new it's around on par with the iphone mini in terms of price I think), but you can keep it for 8 years before it stops getting updates, and the most expensive repair you can do is the 90htz Display for ~100⏠(wich is ~$100), most of them are cheaper, ranging from 10⏠to 70⏠(wich is the main camera, and most of the parts are in the $20s)
Itâs really half and half, as much as I want to defend android, I had 3 android phones in the span of two years and they all got damaged in some way(screen cracking or water damage), now that I have an iPhone, I think that the durability is a lot better and the phone lasts a lot longer without a screen protector, so far Iâve been using it for 3 years, a lot longer than android ever lasted

Sharing the screen for notes is a great option for students. That's why I have Android. I have a CZcams video on half of the screen and a notebook on the other.
Also, android (specifically Samsung) phones are tough and made to last. My dad dropped his on cement without a case as he hadn't gotten one yet and the only thing that happened was a tiny little chip off of the colour plating. No cracked screen, turned on just fine. Literally missing a tiny colour piece that was covered when he got a case
I have an A20s, have dropped my phone down the stairs, onto concrete multiple times, had it flicked out of my hand and drenched the backside of my phone with water for a few seconds without a case and yet my phone is still alive. I have cracks but that's expected I'm just happy its even alive ngl

Sharing the screen for notes is a great option for students. That's why I have Android. I have a CZcams video on half of the screen and a notebook on the other.
Also, android (specifically Samsung) phones are tough and made to last. My dad dropped his on cement without a case as he hadn't gotten one yet and the only thing that happened was a tiny little chip off of the colour plating. No cracked screen, turned on just fine. Literally missing a tiny colour piece that was covered when he got a case

I have an A20s, have dropped my phone down the stairs, onto concrete multiple times, had it flicked out of my hand and drenched the backside of my phone with water for a few seconds without a case and yet my phone is still alive. I have cracks but that's expected I'm just happy its even alive ngl

not rlly, iphone has better design and privacy, But iphone doesnt do major phone Upgrades every year, the thing is i js wait every 5 years to buy the new iphone so it works for me, while samsung is for less privacy and poor UI, it also AI generates zoomed in photos and also expects you to do most of the work (customizing the UI etc) which some do like.
