    To anyone having difficulties finding out how to prime/set up/adjust their new heater, this is a great start BUT you MUST have the correct controller.
    Is it an ALL BLUE readout panel or is there RED on the main info line? The two units use the same case but require different button strokes.
    The information available on all of these online videos is accurate but if the advice does not work on YOUR heater then it is the wrong video for you. I do not have all different controllers and there are plenty of videos out there, that cover them all.
    PLEASE be aware of this fact and don't get frustrated for ages like myself and so many others have because their controller is different. THIS video is GREAT if you have the ALL BLUE controller. Once again a BIG thanks for posting this video. It has really helped me ESPECIALLY the "Alpine mode" tip.

    I m assuming the lowest it does is the equivalent of H1 ?
    ie It won’t actually turn itself off if the temp exceeds the set point

    I just bought a Chinese heater recently and my controller's button setup is identical to most of the controllers covered on CZcams. The new controller however has a complete blue readout but the sequence is different than those with a red digital readout.
    To make a long story short, I couldn't figure out how to switch to the automatic mode and your video answered that question. There is little to no information on how to operate the new style of controllers and it's frustrating trying to figure it out. I can't wait to get it fired up and see if it works. Do you have any links to more information on the new style of this style of controller?. I can't seem to find any informative videos. Thanks for the upload!

    Love your instructions - definitely all works with our heater. However in auto mode ours just gets hotter and hotter - even when set on 14 it gets up to 25 on speed 2 or 3 and never cuts out. We have to manually turn it off then we wake up freezing and have to manually turn it on again. How do we get the thermostat to work correctly to keep the van at the set temperature ie ideally 18. The installer told us auto mode doesn’t work and to use manual mode but same issue even when on H1! Help - feel like we should have put a normal diesel heater in not a Chinese one. Anyone else have this problem?

    • @bretts0004
      @bretts0004  Před rokem

      Not sure as to why it doesnt step down to H1 speed, mine is installed in a 16ft poptop caravan and at times I need to shut it down as it gets too hot in the van as well. I have just been out in the desert where the temp outside was around 5 deg, what I was doing and it seemed to work ok was set the setpoint at 14 deg and run in Alpine mode, that seemed to keep the van at a more comfortable temp. I also in the past have had to open the jip windows in the poptop to keep it from getting too hot. They arnt a perfect heater when it comes to temperature control but it sure beats freezing.

    Here's more info on fuels I've tried in the UK spec Vevo 5kW unit, with stock settings (with the controller-new type, late 2022, without the antenna signal indicator):
    Best fuel, most heat, Kerosene=heating oil=jetA1=paraffin
    Diesel, red or standard next best
    Brake fluid, DOT3 diluted with 10% petrol next best
    Old dirty engine oil diluted 20% with unleaded petrol next best
    Transmission fluid/old gearbox oil diluted with 10% petrol next (but smelly)
    Old gunwash thinners with 10% old engine oil to give it some lube properties not very good
    Old petrol with 10% old engine oil, also not very good.
    Acetone, brake and clutch cleaner (trichloroethylene- don't breath the smoke at all) or alcohol/meths don't really work at all.
    With all of the hydrocarbons, it is pretty obvious that there is way too much air running through the combustion chamber, because the exhaust pipe gets really hot (wasted heat). The combustion gas is being pushed straight out of the heat exchanger. If you choke the combustion air inlet a little, while still maintaining a lean and clean burn (at max fan speed), the exhaust temp drops while the heat exchanger actually gets a lot hotter. More time for the hot combustion gases to transfer the heat into the heat sink, as the burning gas is moving slower.
    Oh and throw away the little fuel filter they supply, as it doesn't filter anything! Get a proper fuel filter...
    If anyone knows how to crack advanced settings on the new controller unit (without antenna signal indicator), please post! 👍🏻😀🇬🇧

      Great post. With these alternative fuels, do you run in manual heat setting or automatic temperature. If manual what H level works best?

      @@bretts0004 Hi, you are right, I played with it a lot and is not much to do with that panel but is fine. I find mine or perhaps this type of heater with that panel to be very demanding with voltage. I'm saying this because I've seen others working just fine with a battery having around 12 volts in it, but not mine. I had a collection of errors trying just to ignite it and were because of low voltage, mine won't start if the battery is under 13.25 and I've observed that under this voltage the won't work as supposed, it creates a lot of air in the fuel hose after it. So I'm thinking to return it and order the seen model which is not that pretentious about voltage. I'll do more tests to be sure. All the best.

    Other controllers can set range for pump rate in Hz and fan RPM to accommodate incremental elevation change. Can this controller act similarly? How if so? What does Alpine mode do exactly? I hear pump slow, but a fixed setting can't suit 1500 AND 3000 meters. Is your unit a 2kw heater? I’ve been running spline mode last two days since install but today it blew a terrible white cloud that burnt off and came clean. I put it down to Alpine mode reducing burn temperatures and I did also mountfuel filter parallel and not vertically as per instructions so perhaps air was also a factor?

    • @bretts0004
      @bretts0004  Před 2 lety

      Correct, alpine mode runs at around 150 Deg C, normal mode runs at about 200 deg C, so running in normal mode would assist with a clean burn, also 10% kerosine also helps in this regard.

      No Tom sorry I havnt, what I will say that in a lot of instances these arnt wired up correctly which results in voltage related errors. Things like using the vehicle chassis as a return earth rather than direct connection to the battery neg, long cable runs, under sized cables and low batteries all can cause problems. These heaters need around 10amps to fire up so correct cable installation is important.
