      Instead of conditioning, you can use a bit of apple cider vinegar and argan oil. It does not disrupt the henna and your hair will feel soft and detangled

      @@elmirathierichen7182I just heard from a henna vendor and they instructed me to wash out the henna with clarifying shampoo and conditioner and then apply the Indigo. This goes against everything I've read that you should let the henna sit for awhile. But their analysis was that the rinsing only of henna leaves a henna residue which the Indigo Vines to and then washes out. This goes against everything I've read elsewhere but it does make some sense. I haven't tried it yet, I'm procrastinating, but will do so probably in the next week

    You're so right about the conditioner washing the henna color out. I've experienced this and I'm glad you spoke about it. henna is very drying so I'm concerned especially about my curly hair getting dry and breaking without the conditioner.
    So I found the fix to be to oil your hair lightly after washing out the henna. Just let it sit for two days or so and then you can wash and condition.

    Hi, thank you for your very helpful henna coloring videos! I'm curious if you find any noticeable differences between the one step or two step process? I have been trying the one step process and find that the color doesn't last too long on my grays. I love the idea of saving a lot of hours with the one step process but wonder if the 2 step process might last longer on my grays. Thanks!

      I use Rainbow henna that is pre- mixed with indigo. I boil water and steep a tea bag . After I make the tea I add a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and a teaspoon of olive oil.. then, I mix it.
      I use a china/ ceramic/ glass bowl and non- metal spoon . I use a brush small brow comb to apply to the hairline and I mix the rest in my hair. I do my hair wet and slightly,. towel dried first.
      I also keep Visine/ Bausch and Lomb eye wash available in case I get it in my eyes.
      Do not inhale henna. Powders cause lung problems
      I have asthma so, I use a face mask and ventilation before mixing the henna.
      I keep my Albuterol pump handy.
      Women in the Middle East, India, Shri Lanka, etc use lemon juice instead of apple cider vinegar. Rainbow has a shampoo and conditioner .

    The best is to oil your hair after washing the application. That would help the hair to get stuck to the colour, atleast for a few days. Keep your hair oiled for a day and then shampoo it. As oiling can also condition your hair.

    Great video , Could u kindly clarify my query , if I am not wrong u started aiming for 60% indigo and 40% henna ,
    But henna combination ( 24 gm henna ,12 hibiscus ,3 gm amla = total =39 gm) is 39 gm
    And indigo is measured to 36gm ( instead of 60 gm indigo which would make upto 60% ) .
    So that part is bit confusing , please correct me if I am wrong .
    The combination as made in the video
    Henna 24 gm , hibiscus 12gm amla 3 gm , indigo 36 gm would add upto 75gm
    That leaves henna at 32% and indigo at 48%

    • @RoseBaby
      @RoseBaby  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I’m so sorry for the confusion I should’ve explained how I do my measurements. 😅
      So I was aiming for 75 grams of the total paste so I first took out 5% for the Aloe Vera powder and that was around 3.75 but I made it 3 to make it easier to remember. Now take (75-3=72) then I took 17% from the 72 (72x17%= 12.24) again I made it 12 to keep it simple.
      So now I had 60 grams left so I did 40% henna which was 24 and 60%indigo which was 36.
      I’m not sure if this the right way to do it but that’s how I usually do it.

    Hi Rose
    Is this receipe only for gray touch up or we can color the whole entire hair to make it dark burgundy color?
    Also you had Hanna sits for 12 hours then you add indigo on it?
    After you add indigo to the henna did you let it sit for 10 minutes or you apply it to your hair right a way?
    For this receipe how much amla can we use?
    Can we use this amount of ingredient for hair little bit under the shoulder or less if less how less?
    What brand of Henna and indigo do you use?
    Thank you

    I heard you talk about not adding any acids to the henna because indigo doesn't like it. Does adding acid in the henna while it is dye releasing actually inhibit the indigo from working when we add it later and mix the two together? It seems like all the henna sites tell us to add acid while dye releasing and don't say it inhibits the indigo from working.

    • @RoseBaby
      @RoseBaby  Před 2 lety +5

      Hello, Andrea, you can definitely add little bit of acid to your henna to release it’s dye and that should be fine. Just make sure when you mix the indigo later on to use only warm water and let it set 10 minutes at least for dye release then mix it with you henna. I’m just new to indigo and I’m always trying to be extra careful but more than one source said that it should be fine. I haven’t tried it yet myself to be honest but if you do please let me how it went.
