I have a problem with Menu Button app. Help please :/

@@tvboxstop After install Menu Button and setting as you recommend, CZcamsTv started working with the voice for blind people, additionally the navigation sound of the original Launcher has dissapear. Then I unabled the permission of Menu Button and CZcams works as always without the voice but I couldn't recover the sound of the navigation when you browse between apps of the TV box or when you use the keyword. Please how could I recover that sound.

great , just ordered one , aliexpress are cheapest at moment , as in link below video , good spec for the price. and ordered a little fan that it can sit on as keeping any CPU cool is the key to performance and a long life worth the £3.50 !!
Listen, there are no vents for the cooling fan to blow into. You will have to DIY the bottom cover with small drill bit. There are two screws hiding below the rubber legs to open the bottom cover and it pops right open. Open the box will void your warranty so just be sure you want to go that way. But it solves the heating issue.
I just got this box and added two heatsinks, cut 80mm holes on top and bottom. Put a fan on bottom blowing up. Now to figure out how to set it up and program

The antutu benchmark of the X96 air seems higher than the A95X F3, but it seems to me that the A95X F3 is better than tha X96 air, would love to hear your opinion :)

It's an interesting thought, but I believe the issue will be compatibility with Android SDK. If it is and Android TV like the ones Sony make for the hardware will be compatible. However they don't pack enough RAM and internal storage into those TV boards to outperform high-end TV boxes yet.

Yes the HDR logo pops up and the picture mode changes as well. I test this in all my videos.

I've 1 ordered but won't see it until after X-mas. As you mentioned active cooling to bring down temperature on the processors. I was thinking that I might just add my own vents by drilling holes in the casing, but, What would you suggest? Heatsink or Fan? & Would I need to modify the casing to add these? Drilling holes and using a small cooling fan would do the trick. If you have those stick on heatsinks that would also help, as the box uses a sponge type thermal pad to transfer heat to a metal plate heatsink.

Which one the best for X96Air or A95XF3 and why?
The F3 because is performs better than the Air that has overheating and throttling issues. The F3 has lower CPU clock speed and vents than the Air that has none.

The stock launcher is called Mediabox Launcher and the alternative launcher is called ADW Launcher 2 see here 9:43

None of them are. That was to only version that had commentary and gamepad compatible
I mostly use android tvbox for KODI movie streaming and maybe other movie streaming apps. Will u recommend this box over MECOOL KM3? My biggest concern is about heating issues on these boxes.
Then go with the KM3 it has better cooling. I am doing the A95X F3 want to wait an see what it's got?

A quick fix is to reset the box back to factory settings and everything will return. Another way is to install a volume control app and control sound channels. Try this one - play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=netroken.android.persistfree

Hello, how did you play Dolby Atmos. I have everything I need and like an old player that runs everything without any problems, and with this I can't run with any programs.My question is mainly about Kodi.
Firstly the receiver MUST be a Dolby Atmos/DTS audio receiver. To the back of the receiver must have HDMI in and HDMI out. You must also set the speaker configuration to multi-channel 7.1/5.1 for the Atms/DTS features to activate. Not all receivers have this feature so check your model to confirm

I might be mistaken but there is no X96 Max Pro. There is an X96 Max Plus. Between the X96 Air and the X96 Max+ the Max+ is the better box to buy.

It's a bit better on the X96 Max+ with its faster processing power, but you will be fine on the Air.

Hi, I've been using A95xF2 from the past 1yr, which worked flawlessly,
But today I bought this X96Air 4g-32gb variant, it's working is very poor, every app keeps on crashing.
1)doesn't support 4tb external hard disk
Does support my 2tb external hard disk, but file manager hangs.
2) unable to read & play 4k videos in kd or other players,
3) 4k videos only play when I copy it in the internal storage.
4)after signing in the Google Play, unable to download not even a single app from play store, it states that,
"This App is not Compatible with your Device".
5) Updates not working, but it shows Android 9 Pie.
Updates shows Security Patch level 5th August 2018.
6)Hangs a lot.
7)why it shows X96Air P3 model
7) CZcams worked Fine in 4k-60fps
I did factory reset but still the same issue persists.
Kindly suggest me what should I do !!

Questions: I was all set to buy a box with Android 9.0 OS when I noticed that Android 10.0 is now available. The specific box I had my eye on was the Bqeel Y8 Max which looks awesome. Should I wait for this to be upgraded to Android 10.0 and ... do you have a review on this box? Is Android 10.0 worth waiting for? Thank you. Jim
Most boxes almost never update to another higher operating system because the hardware was built specfic to that hardware. Updates like that only occur on devices like the Nvidia Shield. Android 10 has its minor improvements in the user. interface, but nothing major where TV boxes is concerned.
TV Box Stop ... thanks but not sure I understand. I’m presently operating an old rominetak that I bought in 2016. It’s got Android 6.1 OS . I’ve seen others with 7.1, 8.1, 9.0 and now 10.0. So ...would you know if there is a significant difference in OS 9.0 as compared to 10.0? I’ve tried to do the research but the only thing that comes up refers to the Android 10 phone which of course has nothing to do with a tv box. I love your vids - they are really helpful. What I am saying is that when you buy an Android TV box from China there will be no updates that is going to upgrade you from one operating system to another. It rarely ever happens. What you will get is firmware updates based on an particular operating system.

Is Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 is available over optical output ??
I have not tested that feature so I cannot say. However I have heard some users say that it is not available on must boxes. I am going to test for that going forward.

I use the VLC player, it's the only one that can do it. In the settings area under audio enable audio passthrough or else it will not work.

Dolby vision is not automatic on these boxes. There is an on/off switch, but it works.

Install Mobdro Aptoide or APKpure app store. Use Chrome browser to install Aptoide or APKpure first. Then use the them to install mobdro. Another way is to simply search Mobdro APK on chrome and download the app and install it directly.

I have one of these boxes and now it is stuck on "TVbox launcher keeps stopping" and nothing else happens, I need help to fix this problem please someone help
You have to try a hard reset. There is a reset button inside the AV port at the bottom. Use a toothpick or a paperclip and unplug the box first. Insert toothpick into AV hole until you hear a click, that's the button at the base of the AV hole. While holding down the reset button, plug in the power adapter and hold there until you see the recovery Black screen appear with reset options, if the box starts as normal then retry again, you may have missed the button. Using the stock remote navigate to factory reset options and reset the box. I hope it helps solve your problem, because in my review I indicated the overheating issues these boxes have, and the potential for hardware failure due to this issue.

Hi, I'm new to this and would like to ask a single question. Is it easy to side-load non-google apps? With the Xiami mi 9 I battled to do that. Appreciate a response.
That would depend on if the apps needs root access or not. Cellphones are usually not rooted so you need to check the app requirement. You can download the APK format of the app onto an SD card and insert it into the phone and browse to the folder and install it. Another way open chrome browser on the phone and search for Aptoide and download and install it. Then open Aptoide and search for you app and install it through Aptoide app store.

My only recommendation is to remove the rubber legs and see if there are screws hiding below them. If there are screws remove them and pop open the bottom cover. If the heatsink is attached to the bottom cover leave it there, if it is not then proceed to the next step. Using a small metal drill bit that is sharp enough, drill as many holes into the bottom cover as possible, and reattach the cover. Place some sort of cooling fan small enough bellow the box, or place the box upside-down and put a small house fan or mini fan on it. That's the best advice I have for you.

You can play the latest for for mobile but you would need a gamepad keymapping apps to do so. You can try octopus or their panda mouse pro/gamepad pro keymapping apps.

Have a yamaha reciever
You have to use the VLC player. Go to settings and under hardware acceleration set it to full acceleration. And under audio settings enable audio passthrough, and play your video file using the VLC player.
Second option use the Kodi media player. Go to settings, click on "Standard until it says Expert". Set audio channels from 2.0 to 7.1. Scroll down to audio passthrough and enable that. Then all options below audio passthrough enable them also.

When I try on the stock video player app It outputs dts (but that video player is shit and my picture is orange a bit
. I'm using.. Mkv with dts-MA
So far it seems the only way the device activates its decoded is through the stock video player app
But I didn't try kodi at 7.1 or VLC yet I will try that next
Is there real HD audio passthrough (in original raw format)?
Becouse, i can see wierd formats on the Sony receiver's display (for ex.: "dolby true hd" as "dolby sorround sound", "dts hd audio" as "dts+neuralx", "dolby atmos" as "atmos + dolby digital plus").
That depends on the firmware of the receiver. The firmware determines what is displayed when it encounters a file type. This does not mean that it isn't producing the audio. I will check for an update for the receiver.

@@tvboxstop I 100% disagree, in app speed tests the shield blows any box away, but in my real time testing with every single apk/app I use daily and my box is loaded, with live tv apps and movie & tv apks, and games this box and the x96max is right there with the shield in every aspect, side by side in real time testing, the average user can't see the difference, and it has more storage, and at $35 for the air and $37.50 for the new x96max plus on ali express the value for what you get is 10x better than $200 for a shield. i tested both side by side and I sold my shield

Obviously it displays fine during the daytime hours but continues w 24hr format thru the rest of the eve/night ....I have firmware version X96Air_P2_20191017-1917 Kernel version 4.9.113. Can you check your firmware version?

@@tvboxstop when you open an apk like cyberflix there's a top bar where you search or change the category a lot of boxes dont go up to that bar with the remote it needs an air mouse but there's some that can please test it with the standard remote in your next review if u still dont get it watch a review by free tech and you will know what i mean

Well first to begin boxes such as Fire TV, Nvidia Shield, Chromecast and others are fully Google certified boxes that play a major factor in producing Dolby Vision from official premium services such as Netflix. Boxes such as the X96 Air are not certified and can only deliver basic/standard quality from premium services which you usually have to sideload because they are not available on the Play Store due to the lack of certification. Also to date I have never seen a uncertified box deliver Dolby Vision playing self-hosted videos. The videos play without issues, but they don't trigger the Dolby Vision feature/icon on the TV. Only certified boxes do that, but only on premium services.

How to setting keymaping on the end game you play?
OK I can't explain all in this comment I will have to make a video when I get the time. Install the Panda Mouse Mapper BETA. Pay $3 for the Ad free version, It will save you lots of trouble. Use a full Keyboard and mouse to play, or gamepay if you are good at aiming with a joystick. Start app click add game from inside the app. Once the game has started click the panda Icon from the top, then click plus button to assign keys to the screen. Drag and drop keys where you want. guring game play right click mouse to enter aiming mode, and right click again to exit aiming mode a use touchscreen mouse mode.

The X96 Max it S905X2 CPU and the Air is the S905X3 CPU
and the max is 1000mb lan this is only 100mb which kind of is a big deal if you have fiber 1gb etherent

Sorry but you cannot because for a TV box to become Netflix compliant, it will require the developer to pay Netflix for certification and also for Google certification for the manufacturer to install the required DRM. I think most of them shy away from that cost, so there is nothing we can do unless we have developer skills to create our own firmware with these key requirements.

Not really, 8K video files are really large in size, and the developers know the majority of users around the world will not be using 8K media until the next couple of years.
whats active cooling?
When you apply cooling fan directly to the box. I this case I popped open the top cover of the box. Not recommended if you value you warranty. But if you don't care you can drill holes in the bottom cover. Something they should have done.
@@tvboxstop Do you know whether a future firmware might solve the heat issue? Also, maybe you can try putting thermal paste on the cpu and gpu to see if get better result?
I'm sure using paste will do a better job, as they used quarter inch thermal sponge to connect the CPU to the 1 inch heat sink, which is also attached to the bottom cover. If I am serious about cooling this box I would purchase heat sink cubes in apply them generously across the mainboard.

Your antutu result is useless for that comparison table. I have just did two tests with both V7 and V8 version on my new Magicsee N5 Max (s905x2) and the results are ~72000 vs ~59000, so ~22% larger in antutu V8. so, the correct result with v7 would have been here ~60000 , very close to x2!

Actually, many x2 boxes are switching to X3, while reducing other features (1G->100M Ethernet, weaker WIFI AC1200->AC750 , DDR4->DDR3 etc). This is what Magicsee did to my box too, and I am glad I stayed with the previous x2 model, using 1G and DDR4 .. :)

If you don't want to use v7, I suggest you add a note (*) saying that it is v8 and 22% higher scores, and adjust/lower the result and position. accordingly. Otherwise, the table/channel is likely to loose it's credibility in time.
