- In this short VLOG we discuss the best way to launch your 2015-18 Mustang GT.
In the base model cars, double tap the traction control button twice to put AdvanceTrac into sport mode. This allows the optimal traction off the line. In premium cars put the car in Sport + mode, and turn the traction control off. This will be the same effect.

What I found is that you have to hold for 7secs or double tap, then press the Trac control button to engage it.
Thanks bro. I'll see if I can get some better times. I ran 12.6 on street tires, and 0-60 4.7 spinning in second and third.
What happens, I believe, when you do the double-tap, is stability control and traction control both remain on, but are reduced, and won’t fight you much when running the car near it’s limits.

Its funny how people think traction control is some knid of magic that keeps the tires from spinning The "magic" is that the TC is cutting power and applying the brakes on take-off - Thats why it's not spinning. Its not magic and it slows the car down.
Thank you for the information! I'll give it a try next time I get to do a 0-60 launch. Best I've been able to do was 4.8 seconds. What's your final drive gear ratio?

4.6 with 2 people in the car with the mods you have is pretty crazy I'm,almost FBO and the best I can do 4.2 with just me in the car 😂

E85 probably that was years ago lol, my car makes 1500hp now

You can do it stock if you have traction. I was on street tires back then on a crappy road so I didn’t have traction at all lol
This info is in my 2019 GT manual, and also states that this 'sport mode' in GT's without the 'drive mode toggle switches' is equivalent to 'track mode' on GT's with the selectable drive modes. I'm not sure if that's correct but that's how it's written. 😊🤔

I know the premium has drag mode on the autos.

My history says 9.88 at 138. I have ran a best of 10.05 at 139 at my local drag strip so it is pretty close. This is on street tires because I still have a stock mt 82.
Hold the brake. Push and hold the TC button for about 6-10 seconds it turns TC and advance trac off completely. This is old news. This feature has been in the Mustang sense 2010
Mustang Guru that’s a whole different feature. This puts the car in sport mode, the method you’re talking about turns off everything which is better for burnouts, drifting etc

aran amanj no not really. It does however in a way make acceleration happen a bit fast because when you spin it doesn’t bog the car.

Same button/feature in my V8 explorer. Of coarse I dont have the super secret sport mode that is fully explained right in the gosh dang owners manual?? Holy sheezus you got to read the owners manual front to back people, all of your maintenance guidelines and what have yas are right in there.

What mode do you guys recommend driving in around town? It feels like Sport + refs down hard vs Normal. On the flip side, in the 2019 GT Premium PP1, it sounds better but feels jerky.
always recommend normal for "normal" use i.e. daily driving/ cruising

The secret mode is called G for Gay. You can only get this mode if you buy an automatic. But be warned because when buying an auto your car will weigh far more considering you’ll have a dude in the passenger seat and not a girl.
