    Can you explain how the practical test works, do the Examiner tell you what to do each time or are you supposed to have a paper with you during the test to read out the next step.

    • @gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810
      @gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810  Před 3 lety +6

      Hi,
      So the test is divided into 4 parts:
      Schedule
      coupling
      road and then backing!
      the examiner tell you what they want to hear and what they want you to do.

    It may sound weird, but why did you remove the blue line.

    • @gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810
      @gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810  Před 2 lety

      Hi,
      We remove the blue service line because it connect to your service pedal. so when you go back inside after removing it you will be holding your brake pedal to listen for any air leak.

      @gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810  Před 3 lety +6

      Yellow brake is optional in the tractor protection system. when the service brake is pressed down, You can find out if there is any leak or not!

    • @_JasbirBajwa
      @_JasbirBajwa Před 3 lety +3

      @@gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810 it can't be optional by any means
      we check tractor protection system because when we have to drive tractor without trailer there is no leakage from service line
      so when we drive tractor we have to release yellow brale

    • @gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810
      @gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810  Před 3 lety +4

      @@_JasbirBajwa The yellow brake has no play when we are checking the tractor protection system, at most what would happen is when we release the yellow brake the tractor would end up rolling and by pressing the service brake it would only stop or control the tractor.

    That is not at all how you check a tractor protection valve. Both lines should be disconnected while the parking brakes are RELEASED. Not applied. This is supposed to simulate a trailer breakaway. Try to mention that the wheels should be chocked too dude.

    • @gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810
      @gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810  Před 2 lety

      Hi,
      If you have a trailer attached then we have nothing to do regarding the red supply line as that line supplies air to the trailer. also by releasing the parking brakes it wouldn't matter because the tractor protection can be tested either way!

      @@gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810 Look up testing the tractor protection valve inspection bulletin posted by CVSA. If people are paying you to instruct them on this kind of stuff, you should at least be giving them the right information.

      @@gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810 You are 100% wrong on your test procedure and you should delete this video as you are passing wrong information. The trailer brakes need to be released, disconnect the service line, pump the brakes, the valve should close before 20 PSI, no air should be coming from service line at this point - this needs to be verified by touch not listening from the cab (thats ridiculous that you think that is effective), remove emergency line and verify air is exhausted and spring brakes are applied - you could also disconnect this line from the get go and let the air bleed out that way. Having the brakes set voids the whole test, the valve in the cab is NOT the TPV, its a separate system called the Trailer Supply Valve (TSV).

      @gmtruckforklifttrainingcen810  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi,
      Just wanted to clarify you have to disconnect just the blue service line as you are also pressing the service pedal brake, to listen for any air leaks. The red supply line has nothing to do with this question.
      thank you
