Musicians then: no distractions from practice

You underestimate the power of the dark ages
So relatable

Ling Ling is still old school

What happened to the days where you had to compose your own music to play music?
Johann Sebastian Bach Nobody even knows who you are until Mendelssohn

Who prefers using books/paper over a tablet?
Absolutely. I try my best to get away digital things.
I do
i can’t read music if it’s on a screen. my brain doesn’t register it as music or something. gotta print it out or buy the score yeet haw
Yeah
LudicrousSeal Animations I don’t because books and paper cost money.

Are we not gonna talk about the fact that eddy owns a copy of essential elements as a professional violinist?
He was/is a teacher. He probably has it for his students. 😉
Bro you brought back ptsd from my beginner days
@@annstropes2236 Haha reminds me of my piano teacher, both of her grand pianos are piled high with books, and she has even more in her study.
Most of the time, when her students need books, we'll just but them from her on the spot instead of having to go to a music/book store.

● Playlists Called “Classical Music”
Then: Beautiful classical pieces
Now: P O P S O N G S P L A Y E D B Y I N S T R U M E N T S
the horror
people who say they like classical music because they have '''''instrumental versions''''' of pop songs lol
pop songs are literally peasant music - they had "pop" music back then too, but they had no recording technology and those "pop" artists were uneducated and didn't know how to write down their songs
@@Pakkens_Backyard Not exactly like that. Those were more like folk musicians. The pop as a phenomenon we know started with the first audio recording devices in early 20th century.
wireless.mike And Paganini and Liszt were practically like super rock stars in their times. The audiences used to shred the gloves to pieces that Liszt threw at them after a concert. People were yelling and screaming, not really behaving like in today’s classical music concerts.
ah, yes, the time of ‘then’ - when everything was sepia coloured and static lines flickered in the air, the nostalgia!

I laughed at the 'Then' part where they use CD. I WAS HONESTLY EXPECTING SOME VINYL DISCS OR EVEN OLDER!
0:54 is like Twosetters trying to familiarise ourselves with Tchaikovsky or Sibelius before the drops...🥳
Is it just me who still uses an old-school metronome?
Yep! one of those huge ancient wooden ones!
No, me too XD
I still use a metronome too. (And I'm pretty sure most of us still own traditional sheet music)
i like the sound of oldschool metronomes better than digital ones, it sounds more authentic and makes it easier to follow

I had a violin class today and we had a violinist from Canada come and teach us today and she happily mentioned you guys and asked who watches your videos. A lot of people in my class including me love you guys! Keep it up. ♥️😁
"what do you think?"
"it SUCKED! you're out of tune!"
words ling ling has never heard
i don't miss the medieval days of wandering through a record store searching for a classical album - much more fun to rummage through CZcams
I don't know, it's got something. My Mum used to work at a record store when she was still a student and she always say that you had to be really well-versed in classical music to work there because customers would sometimes come in and hum whichever classical melody they were looking for. And some of the senior employees would be able to talk about the different recordings and be like "this one has such and such quality, but this one is very fast-paced"... you know, stuff like that. I know you can do a lot of that online nowadays, but I still think that's sort of lovely.
@@Casutama That is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“and maybe some food”
“hope i dont die at sea”

About scores and metronome, I feel like I’m still live in the old time.
BACH IS UNIVERSAL.
BACH IS GOD.
BACH IS OMNIPOTENT.
BACH IS BACH.
Bach loves us ❤️
but Bach isn’t Bach
Bach is inevitable
Bach is all knowing (of counterpoint and of musical composition), Bach is all forgiving (on when you play his music with dynamics), and Bach is all loving (of his 2 wives)
Bach is UGOB
In the end it always comes down to loving BACH! 😍
So comforting to know!
