Burnham Alpine 210 Condensing Boiler with Buderus SU52 and Taco Viridian Delta-T ECM Circulator

- We removed a "combi" Phoenix Solar gas condensing boiler and water heater - tank style - that had combustion gas leaks from the heat exchanger. The unit was condemned by the manufacture. We installed the @USBoiler Burnham Alpine 210 wall hung condensing gas fired boiler with the Buderus SU52 indirect fired water heater for domestic hot water. For primary loop piping we installed the Taco Viridian Delta-T variable speed ECM high efficiency circulator to maximize efficiency of the entire system.

That's a good boiler I have installed some in commercial application's probably 12 years ago with minimal problems.
Impressive I was a boiler guy here in Chicago before I got disabilied from multiple sclerosis. I always loved those complex systems if done right lol. And you know in this industry done right is a virtue lol lol

As a homeowner I wouldn’t like the location of the purge valve because it would be a pain if I wanted to purge the system myself.
The only thing I would change is the black fittings on the water side with brass.

Burnham are nice so are there K2's nice price and all set up with circulator. Just service them and they seem to run fine. Just don't like there flow sensor connection had some leaks and the board is right under. Nice work. First time I see that buderus. Since Bosch took them over I don't have a supplier for them anymore.

I've never seen those white Buderus indirects, but their older blue ones aren't the best. Their a steel tank/coil with an epoxy liner and anode rods... It's a shame because Buderus is a good name, their cast iron boilers will last forever. Keep up the good work!
When I designed my system it was temping to get the blue buderus indirect and mount the boiler on top. But too many bad reviews I went with a different indirect
only issue I see, other than the tank blocked valve (lol-whoops)🤣
the low water cutoff location, it's placed out in a long dead end pipe, which will likely fill with schmutz and end up false tripping or possibly not working if there is a low water situation. ideally they should be threaded into a tee fitting, with the probe directly in the flow of primary or main part of secondary loop. the flow will keep the probe schmutz minimal. 😉
Why not insulate the boiler lines? Seems like a lot of losses without before it even gets to the manifold. Not use to seeing boilers here in the south. Heck we are required to insulate all the hot water supply lines. Keep up the good work! 😁👍

yep, typical solar water heating setup, *broken and disabled*, with repair costs astronomical and pretty much a new system needed.
as for the snow melt, I bet they used it a month or two, one winter and then the gas bill arrived. 🤪🤪
